Honestly this video didn’t really change my view. I’m a month into being 23, I have my bachelors and a 8-4:30 job in an office. I have 0 social life. I sit at home and do nothing, my life feels meaningless despite having a fulfilling job. The only times I go out is with my bf whom I live with. I researched pet insurance, still deciding, but the best dog for our lifestyle would be a retired racing greyhound. I’ve already been practicing waking up earlier than I need to for walks, I’m prepared to spend the costs upfront and the necessary money and maintenance. My grandma really taught me how to train, take care and groom dogs because she would do AKC dog shows with her giant schnauzer.
Great I have check all my boxes🎉 no renting, wfh,not a parties goers and most importantly, realising your dog is not an accessories,it’s your friend&family.
This weekend I noticed I have a lump that feels hard on my collar bone on the right side. I have an appointment tomorrow to have it checked out. I dont have any pain with it at all and I feel very normal.
Hi we have the same problem , how are you ?
@@jiafernandez5789same here (left side) 😢
I know this video is old but it was helpful, I’ve trained so many puppies in my lifetime and I’m only 18. I am currently fostering a litter with my family, it’s been very hard work and I probably won’t do it again but my dad has told me I can keep a puppy if I wished. I have been doing the bulk of the work for this litter and despite all the stress, I loved sitting down with one puppy at the end of the day just playing with them. We would be receiving the puppy for free, our only expenses would be neutering, vet registration, and supplies. So I’m gonna try the pretend supplies shopping soon. I just feel like if I can handle 12 puppies at once I can handle one as well to be my own. I understand there will be times where I will be frustrated with the pupper since I plan on a semi different approach to his training but I just miss having a pet. I’ve been a bunny lover my whole life with my rabbit and it’s been almost two years since his passing and I really miss having something to care for. Hopefully my comment isn’t too all over the place with grammar, im just thinking through a lot right now. Not a whole lotta sleep with waking up everyday at 6 : 30 to feed pups and taking them outside lol so I’m gonna try resting and thinking
My dad got a dog when he was 18 and then had me when he was 24. I grew up with dogs but I got my first dog when I was 12 (he was the family dog but I was the one who took care of him, trained him, fed him, walked him, bathed him ect) I bought him off my parents when I was 15 but cared for him since day one. I got my second dog when I was 18 and I got my third dog at 22 🤣 I have 3 little fur babies (still have my first one). We have 2 Australian cattle dogs and 1 border collie (was raised on a farm so have the knowledge of high energy breeds). I’m also a vet nurse so can completely understand with the vet bills. All I can say is that 80% of health issues are dietary related, get your dog on the best food…as for the bills, I would recommend pet insurance because you can claim for everything and get most of your money back…health issues can start from day one and if you don’t have +$5k on hand to spend then your pup can suffer. I work full time, study part time and still have more than enough time to keep my dogs needs met and further and I have high energy dogs so if I can do it then anyone can. I am also a very good balance of introverted and extroverted but i have a great group of friends who let me bring my dogs with me (they’ve completed up to level 8 of advanced obedience training so are extremely well behaved), I would prefer to stay home spending time with my babies though. Im not sure if it’s different for Americans but is Australians tend to pull our act together quite young (I got married at 21, have my own home, trying to start a family, make food from scratch, grow our own food ect ect) rather than partying and spending all our money on drinks ect
How's the lump in your neck , because i just noticed mine at this time .
dogs are huge responsibility but at the same time they give u so much love and joy to your life.
Yeah, I shouldn’t have gotten a dog. I’m still young so my parents help but I have school for 7 hrs. I love my little girl, but it’s so tough 😂 I miss having that freedom
That was real helpful, thank you for making this video! I’m curious as to how you manage as a graduate and living alone. I’m about to get into my masters and don’t know how it is to financially support myself, it’s a bit scary to think about. Do you have any tips that were helpful ?
Such a great video
You should keep these videos up, excellent advice.

Hi, How are you now?
Hi @minnimizer, hoping you are doing okay. Any update on your lumps?
Please give us update on your lump🙏, my father have same problem.
So... Don't get a dog. 👍
I’m almost 21, and I really want a dog. I’m on the same exact boat as you were. I’m getting cold feet and I’ve been researching for months. All I do is watch videos of dogs and dog training videos and I literally work at an animal hospital. But I have adhd and I’ve never rlly been responsible for an animal or good at school or had any real hobbies that I stuck to. I’m scared I’m going to be a bad owner or what if I don’t love him. I’ve been obsessing about having a dog for a year but I’m scared I’ll be bad. However I’m so lame. I don’t like to party I’m at home all the time, i only want to work at the animal hospital and if I don’t I want an at home job because I hate leaving my house to go to work. I feel as though having a dog to be responsible for will motivate me to have a healthier lifestyle yk going to dog parks and puppy training etc. also I have enough money for the dog as well, I don’t spend very much money so I have savings. It’s just such a big commitment and I’m scared :(
Think of it like adopting a kid. A lot of the responsibilities and expenses are the same.
I have one and I’m worried !
omg Minnie...this is a bit weird, but I was looking into getting a Maltipom and was just searching around RUclips for dog tips and just general dog caring advice and stumbled onto your video. Did you have a bichon frise in the past? I remember clearly going to your place once after school wayy back for a playdate and you had the cutest bichon who would jump on a toy stroller. I could have mistake you for a different person so I hope this doesn't scare the crap out of you-- sorry in advance if it did. Thank you so much for this video and for sharing the reality of having a dog. I was going back and forth. Wondering whether I should get a puppy right now or not. I've been on the fence for awhile so thank you for giving me some clarity and peace of mind.
Hi!! Omg how crazy, that sounds like me and my first dog coco! Haha. Please reach out to me on IG so I know who this is :) @minniemized
I got a puppy last year and it was just not the time, I was so overwhelmed and felt like everything I did to try and train him was useless. I had to rehouse him after 2 months and I’ve been so against getting a dog ever again. It felt like such a loss, financially and mentally. Puppy blues are real😞
What training methods were you using? Positive reinforcement only for behavior training usually doesn’t work. People don’t like to hear it but it’s literal facts. If anyone does any real research besides random blogs on Google by random people citing random fake vets - you’ll find out what training methods work. Dont ever feel guilty for your decision. Puppies are more difficult and more expensive than kids in my opinion. I have a 5 and 3 year old and as much as I love dogs and miss having one and would love to give the kids a dog- it’s an absolute hard no. It’s not worth it unfortunately.
Just so people know, you can express a dogs anal glands yourself. It is not the most fun or glorious experience, but you don’t need to pay money to get it done.
what breed is your. dog?
He's a Coton De Tulear! :)
I, cannot relate to the last point, at all I'm 23, and I'd rather stay home, then party, or go to the beach, or whatever
Can you tell me about pet insurances ? Which help insurances you have currently ?
Any updtae miss? I have one also and at the same spot.
this is so helpful! going there next week :D

Health information : ruclips.net/video/0ODlOw1p0Ww/видео.html
Hi, do take care of yourself in stress and diet management. health information : ruclips.net/video/qXVM39MJOLY/видео.html
Adopted my sweet boy at 23. I am working from home after graduating in 2020. I rescued him as a 5year old dog. It’s a lot easier than dealing with a puppy, but still hard work as he had separation anxiety. Now I can leave him for a few hours but due to COVID I usually stay in with him.
I had mad puppy blues at the start and I still think about all the freedom I had, I jumped the gun and moved to a new apartment with him (looking after him without my mum's help) and I'm so nervous that his separation anxiety crying is going to upset neighbors. I got him a dog trainer, trying to find a go-to dog sitter, and I just have to plan in advance. I really love him but I do miss not having to do all this goshhh

@@liamk9906 SO much better- the first 2 months were brutal but I spent a lot of time early on with crate training. Now I can leave her in her puppy pen which includes her crate & a place for her to pee & toys/food/water etc. She's completely fine with me leaving for work (I work from home most days) or to go out with friends and I can leave her for 8ish hours thanks to her setup. I will say we're still working on sleeping through the night and finishing potty training (easier if you don't have my setup, but oh well) It's a joy honestly
@@MadisonSievers hii, are there any updates on your pup? i’m also considering getting one :))
@@michellew.1919 she is the love of my life - but also never getting a puppy again. It gets better around 6 months old, and much better around 10. If you can hang in there, it's worth it

My boyfriend and I definitely got a dog too early. We have a Dachshund and she is the cutest and most loving dog in the world. I love her and we would do anything for her but I didn’t realize how much fomo i would get, I felt guilty every time I would leave her alone and now I’m worried about her future because I’m going to nursing school and my boyfriend is taking more hours to become a manager at his job. There’s no way in hell we want to give her up but there’s so much stress because our lives are still changing, we have not established our careers yet and with every step we have to figure out how we can take care of her. I wish we had waited at least until we had stable careers and a good routine.

Hey girl my husband has the same thing same spot. How long did it take to go away
You can learn to do the anal glands yourself. it's not that difficult really. My dog had issues with it as well and I was pretty broke at the time. I just told the vet flat out I didn't have the money to have him do it every 2-4 weeks so he showed me how to do it myself.
Did you go in June? Or upload in june?
Yup! I went in June last year :)
I wish I had this 6 years ago lol now I’m a pro with 3 dogs and two of them are currently puppies
Aw! You're probably a great dog parent!!
The video: Dogs take away your freedom!!!!! Me: *scoff* Like I have freedom anyway... PS: I'm NOT taking about the pandemic
I got the same one same spot after getting the pfizer vaccine 2days after
Me too . It's been 2 weeks but it still there .how about yours? Are they gone?
Its gone Roxanne
I got this as well the same spot after getting the moderna vaccine
Ok so I’m not the only one then😭I took the shot and I notice I had a small bump too
The biggest mistakes my parents let me make is getting a dog at 12 years old and not knowing how long of a commitment it was… so many mistakes I’ve made and so many lessons I’ve learned … still have my pup and still wonder how the hell is he still alive and healthy … sometimes tho I want to give up, but the unconditional love is really worth it ❤️
Your dog is so lucky to have you!! ✨
Hii, what is the breed of your dog? its so cute!! Much love♡︎♡︎
