    I like the stitch, reminds me of a moss stitch because it becomes a solid piece without gaps or holes. I think it would be great for a winter blanket but I don’t have much experience so let me know if I’m wrong. Also any other suggestions would be helpful. You do a wonderful job describing and showing exactly how to do this, thank you!

    • @MyCrochetSpace
      @MyCrochetSpace 11 дней назад

      Oh, thank you so much! I think this stitch would be perfect for blankets! Personally, I would use a bigger hook to make the blanket more squishy because this stitch is quite dense. I also like to make small swatches before starting a bigger project and try different hook sizes and types of yarn to see how it will look and make any necessary changes!

    Every time i do an increase (place 2 puff stitches in the same space), i get gaps...any advice? I don't think it's the yarn as i'm using cotton yarn. And i tried with both 4 and 5 yarn overs as well and same issue. Thanks so much

    • @MyCrochetSpace
      @MyCrochetSpace Месяц назад

      Is there a gap at the base of your increase stitches? Try tightening the chain 1 at the end of each puff stitch to reduce the gap between them. Also, you could experiment with different cotton yarns, as some are thicker than others and may help minimize the gap. The yarn I used in this pattern is quite thick, and the threads separate easily. It can be a bit harder to work puff stitches because the hook can catch on some of the threads, but they also spread out better. Hope this helps!

    This looks absolutely beautiful! I’ve never made a potholder before I am a complete beginner! But a friend and I are going to be making potholders to donate to our church’s Thanksgiving food drive bags this Thanksgiving so we’re starting now! How much yarn does it take to make a pair?

    • @MyCrochetSpace
      @MyCrochetSpace 4 месяца назад

      Thank you! :) I used one skein of yarn which is approx. 119yds for one potholder. You can find more info about materials and the written pattern in this post: mycrochetspace.com/extra-thick-thermal-potholder/ If you are an absolute beginner, this pattern might be a bit challenging to start with, as it's an intermediate-level stitch :) But you've got plenty of time until Thanksgiving to practise, so completely doable! :) If you like the thermal stitch, you might find the single crochet a little easier, and it looks beautiful, too; you can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/pVEwIKCuGV0/видео.html. Have fun and enjoy learning the thermal stitch!

      Happy to hear you like the pattern! 💓 I used Finch Fiddlesticks cotton yarn, which is available here in Australia. It's a 10-ply yarn, equivalent to #4 medium worsted weight/Aran yarn.

    love this pattern! how do I make it so there is less holes and tighter like yours?

    • @MyCrochetSpace
      @MyCrochetSpace 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you! :) For me, it was the type of yarn I used that helped minimize the holes. The yarn isn't too twisted and splits easily, which makes it harder to work with, but at the same time, it creates fluffier puff stitches that spread out more. :) I used Fiddlesticks Finch cotton yarn from Australia. You can try reducing the gaps by using a thicker yarn or making the puff stitches slightly puffier by adding one more yarn over. Let me know if this helps! :)

    If I wanted to keep going, to make a round blanket with this pattern; how would I need to do that?

    • @MyCrochetSpace
      @MyCrochetSpace 6 месяцев назад

      Just add one puff stitch between the two puff stitches in each round, if that makes sense. For example, in round 4, you work 2 puff stitches in the first space, then 1 in the next, and 1 in the following one. Repeat this 2-1-1 pattern all the way around. In round 5, work 2 puff stitches in the first space, then 1 in the next, another 1 in the following, and 1 in the next again. Repeat the 2-1-1-1 pattern around. As the size increases, the round shape may likely evolve into a hexagon. I hope this helps! :)

    I'm by no means a novice crocheter, but I had a lot of trouble getting this puff stitch flower to look good. Nothing wrong with the INSTRUCTIONS as they were well done & crystal CLEAR, the problem were my tools. Using 100% acrylic yarn but with a PLASTIC crochet hook I STRUGGLED to extend the length of each puff stitch to the height of the chain 3. Tried 4x this pattern and kept getting a donut hole in the center of my flower. Finally, switched to METAL hook (which was a 3.5 mm but my yarn needed at least 4.0 mm) so the hook often got caught in the yarn when pulling through all 7 loops of the puff. BUT at least I finally got a tightly closed center flower (no more hole). To avoid frustrations, don't attempt this pattern unless using metal crochet hook AND acrylic yarn (as the instructor recommends on her webpage). This pattern needs the yarn AND hook to be able to easily glide.
