Good place for learning to fly: you can land anywhere you want... no need for runways !!!
sick clips bro, love the informative commentary. wonder what it'd be like to detail one of these things hehe
Thanks! Lot of work to detail for sure. Maybe possible to ceramic coat a plane haha.
Great video, so informative and insightful!

@@misterhardee Air Canada A220. Headed to the West Coast as well.
@ Flight number?
@@misterhardee Not sure, did you happen to fly transcon on an Air Canada A220 recently on a similar route?
@ no, but It’s interesting when you’re on a flight and you see other planes, on my flight from ath-lhr, over egna Italy I saw a plane from LTN-TIA, and when descending into London, I saw another plane from CDG-YUL
❤ your video flying over the Pacific to the Hawaiian islands such beautiful footage especially at the end when you got a peak of the cockpit so amazing! I'm taking my SouthWest Hawaiian over the Pacific Ocean to Oahu from Sacramento in March I can't wait again thank you for your hard work and your awesome video!
@@richarddelgado8913 thanks for the nice comment! Enjoy your trip to Hawaii 🛩🌴
30 passengers was a lost revenue flight. 😟
Yeah, I was surprised how empty it was. Heard some money is made when they fly the plane interisland before returning back to the mainland.
Good job Pilot landed on the first try.. I saw a private jet on Flightradar24 try 2 times to land at Boeing Field that windy night
@@sphere453 certainly, top notch airmanship by Southwest crew!
Is the 737 Max flying I thought they are grounded ??
@@davidlusale1710 no longer grounded after FAA authorized the MCAS fix. Also we were on 737-8 Max that doesn't have a door plug.

Let me know if you’d ever want to fly in a T210.
Yup, am interested. Have a high perf checkout completed in C182.

@@dougwirzberger679 thanks!
I was working a regional flight that night and ended up going around and diverting. By the second try we'd lost all but 12 of our passengers, and 8 of them were non-revs. I guess people figured it wasn't worth it! Second arrival we got a windshear warning around 300 feet, mandatory go around again. Third try we made it in. I had tennis elbow the next day from working the yoke all night. 😂
Just put on the auto pilot.
Too turbulent near the ground, I disconnected early because it was not going to handle it.
@@EnDSchultz1 Great work and ADM. Diversion and go arounds are part of the business but glad you were able to get the plane into SeaTac. Definitely earned your pay operating in challenging conditions this week.
😂 thanks for the ride ✈️
Anytime!
I was trying to find this all as I seen so many planes fly over my house even though the winds were crazy now I finally get to know how bad it is up there
Quick takeoff, how “full” was your flight?
Just under 30 passengers, surprisingly empty!
I've never flown a glider and all these pilots say you can't go upwind but as a sailor and someone who watches crows and seagulls. We all go upwind though it's slow and takes alot of skill. Itseems to me if a crow can do it these gliders should be able too... my guess is they can but it's so slow it's very hard to really go very far or at a good speed....?
@@russ549 unlike a sailboat, gliders can't really harvest energy from the wind. So going upwind is like walking on a treadmill. Only exception is mountain waves where air going upslope can carry a glider up with it. And thermals, rising air from heat.
@@pilotjett4711 okay, I guess that makes some sense to me....
Dr Phil is a pretty good instructor!
I’ve flown the MAX between the islands: HNL to KOA and LIH to HNL
What altitude usually fly over the city?

Me too😂😂❤
the 757 is a great airplane it dont have all that high teck shit on it when a airplane tells the pilot what to do thats bad give me back my l-1011 tri star wishful thinking i miss that airplane
Much agreed, the 757 is a plane you can rely on to get a job done, honest machine that is over-powered but not over-engineered.
First time in a sailplane and you had to ask if the instructor was doing the takeoff? Haha, ok.
The 757 is like an old BMW and the 767 is like an old Benz.
Refined old school but very relevant aircraft. Comfortable cockpit.
I've had my glider license for about a year now. This video was great. I learned a couple of things from both you and the instructor. I've yet to fly power. So it was interesting hearing the perspective of a power pilot on his first glider flight.
Thanks Dustin! Hope you are enjoying soaring with your license.
0:05 right into a field and Pennsylvania
very cool!!
Thank you!!
Spent many years flying the 75/76 before going to the 777. Some of Boeings best work (in addition to the 74 of course)
Amazing airplanes designed when Boeing was still ran by engineers.
I was able to get to ride in a glider when I was 14 ( 1978 ) in Upstate NY and I had a great time. I remember when the pilot asked me if I wanted to fly it for a while at 14 dont ask me twice and then try doing a stall. 😮 I regret that I didn't take the time to go further and get licensed. Thanks for sharing this with me.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@pilotjett4711 I am having trouble with the spell check.
Awesome thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Having taken lessons in both single-engine and gliders, I enjoyed the discussion between you and the instructor on the differences. It helped put words to the spongier, more rudder-heavy handling of gliders.
Thanks! That's spot on. Spongier nails that feeling of the glider's flight controls with its lower airspeed and bigger wings with slower yaw reactions.
One of the best 757 videos I’ve seen!
Thanks Tom! Much appreciated!
Now take Hawaiian and feel the Aloha 🤙
On my bucket list! Next trip to the islands I will love to try Hawaiian Airlines 🤙
Nice job. Also, liked you pointing out places of note after takeoff.
Thanks Ron!
very nice 👾
Thank you for sharing your trip.😊😊
Thanks for watching the video and coming along for the ride!
Yes, the bulk head wall in front of you gave you some privacy!!! Thay was good!! For me, I like some more privacy on long-haul trips.
Much agreed!@@LMays-cu2hp
I was interested in seeing if the southwest version of the Max had the “plug” door like Alaska 1282 had. I couldn’t tell from the video.
@@pilotjett4711 Yes, the more space on the wide-body aircraft on the long-haul flights. I flew on the 757s to Hawaii from Los Angeles a couple of times. But be me living in the mid-west, the 777s are what I have experienced flying to Hawaii. There have been other travelers on RUclips sharing the New Airbus 321s Neo aircraft to Hawaii from Los Angeles or from San Francisco. But still for me, the 757s are only the size aircraft for now, that I would step over to for flying those distances.
Thanks for the pre lesson! I hope to go for the rating in the spring in Michigan! 🙋♂️👍🖖🏻
Hey Chris, glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with your rating!
expecting more videos like this from you
Thanks for watching! Was fun to make this video.
I Love The A330Neo Great Video
Thanks! Great plane!
Great video....love the 757 for the power and versatility....the airlines that still fly them don't want to give them up even after 30 years because there is nothing that can replace them. Although I have read the new A321neo's are close in performance and range. I am surprised they never upgraded the avionics in the older models, but maybe this is too much of an undertaking. With the older avionics, I am wondering if these planes can fly the modern RNAV procedures?
1:04 That seat is not in the flight position. It is mounted on an L-shaped sliding rail the seat moves inboard and forward from where it is in the picture, your leg wouldn't fit between the seat and the center console and the yoke column would line up with the cutout in the seat between your legs.
Hey great video. At what altitude were you at during the whole flight? What is the recommend altitude for the tour flight? Thanx.
Thanks! Depends on what part of the tour, over SF had to stay under the Bravo Airspace while above min safe altitude over the tallest buildings. Generally I stay higher if possible for max gliding options.
Yeah the 787
The seats slide back and out, so you most likely sat in the seat with it back and out. When flying it gets moved in. Just makes it easier to get in and out of the seat
True, good point there regarding the view and feel from the seat.
I'm currently doing my type rating on the 757-200 for Fedex :)
Awesome to hear - best of luck! Amazing airplane.
