I don't think this fight was drawn out its just that theres so many breaks. But for what it symbolizes, Mashiba's growth and acceptance of Ippo and growth on Kumi's part which might help her accept Ippo coming out of retirement, are exceptionally well-written and leave me with a bittersweet taste in my mouth because of the breaks.

What worries me is that Rosario seems determined to challenge him again. In peak condition this time. If he can get this far in bad shape imagine when he’s in top form?

After a several month long-ish break, we get a chapter where 2 punches are thrown, and back to a 2 week break. Is Morikawa ok? After Toriyama, I am concerned for his health after all these breaks.

Man, Morikawa is out there trying to actively kill us with these chapters. I no longer have an inkling as to how this fight will end.

Mashiba was in denial about Ippo. He didn't want to believe that such a timid coward could be stronger than him.... Mashiba just looking at Ippo makes him buckle at the knees... However when it comes to Boxing... Ippo is second to none...... Except Takamura. When he was looking at Ippo holding onto his Sister, like he was a Coward.... Mashiba wanted to see him again, as this weak person... But he realized that the entire time... Ippo was always stronger than him, and in the end, Mashiba was always looking to defeat Ippo and become stronger than him. There's a reason why he moved up a weight class, besides it not being a good fit for him.... He didn't want to lose to Ippo again.... He wanted to get stronger until he could beat Ippo... But in the end... Ippo helped him with this victory, and he acknowledges Ippo..... I Just wish we had some more flashbacks of their fights, sparring, etc, to get to this moment. From the first finals of the pro debut, to the spar before this world title match.... What a beautiful story. Mashiba is happy that it worked out that way... But I do believe he wishes Ippo were a bit less timid and had more courage. It would be nice to see Ippo grow a bit in that regard.... He's the damn Japanese Champ, fighting against the top 2 in the world in his class.. Yet he's scared of everyone still... Granted, Mashiba is weird and scary, but Ippo should have some backbone. I think it comes from lack of actual fighting growing up, he just was bullied, he never fought back. He doesn't know about the streets, weapons and such like Mashiba and Ryuma do, even Takamura, Aoki and Tamura were part of that life too.

Keep in mind Mashiba high-mid diffed an Ippo that was out of practise, holding back his strength, with weight disadvantage, not fighting in his usual style limiting himself to Rosario's style and south paw. That's an incredible feat.

Seriously someone needs to anime this master peace again because this is absolutely amazing
