Encar Woodworking
США
Добавлен 31 май 2022
I design and create woodworking projects using the Vectric software (Vcarve Pro) and a CNC router (Onefinity, Journeyman).
I am new in this endeavor and I'm learning on the way. Some of the projects include American flag with embedded logos, catch-all trays with anime graphics, and various other wood carves. A lot of my anime inspired projects are inspired by my daughters. Essentially my channel is a vlog of my work, enjoy.

CnC carved a Halloween Tombstone decor for the front lawn on MDF
I decided to make some Halloween lawn decor, which is far from perfect. I was having a hard time deciding what name to make so I figured Susie Rottencrotch was a good enough name. I know my fellow Devil Dogs would get a kick out of this, as well as others due to the funny name.

Personalized epoxy on wooden edge grained cutting/serving board using the @OnefinityCNC & @vectric

I have a best buddy who will be getting married next year, so since I tend to procrastinate, I made him a personalized cutting/serving board. I usually like to say serving board since cutting on the epoxy will damage it. For the carve I used a 1/4 down cut end mill for the profile cut. Next I used a 5/8th bowl bit for the juice groove. And lastly I used a 1/8 compression bit for the name. The b...

Very nice. What font is that. I like how the g and y are attached. Thanks
Thank you! I will have to get back with you on the font.

Thanks for your concern. Recreating is fine just as long as I do not sell or redistribute.
Very nice creation, you did well..
Thank you Ron! I appreciate the support from you!
Looks great!!! Are those paint markers oil-based?
I’ll have to find out when I get home Joe. I’ve been looking up the brand I bought from hobby lobby but it doesn’t specify.
@encarwoodworking Ok, cool. Whenever you find the info, please let me know. I appreciate it. 👍👍
The packaging says, “xylene-free/low odor, alcohol based pigmented ink.” Hope that helps.
@encarwoodworking Cool. What brand is it tho?
No brand name. Packaging says, “paint markers” which was bought at hobby lobby.
Very clean!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Wonderful labor of love. I know she'll appreciate you for doing this for her.

Very sharp, Marine. Well done!
Ooorah! Thank you!

I’m new to CNC and learning. Did you do a rough cut first then a detail pass? Also what was your bit choose on this project.
So for this piece I did not do a rough pass. I used a 60 degree vbit for the entire piece then a 1/4 downcut end mill for the profile pass. Welcome to the world of CNC and the rabbit hole!
@@encarwoodworking pretty simple. I always like to ask to keep a mental note.
What the name and model of the machine and can it work on tree wood how deep it works
So mine machine is the Onefinity and the model is journeyman pro. I believe it cuts approx 6 inches in depth. Hope that helps!
I'm curious as to why you did the profile pass first?
I tend to a profile pass first because, for me, if the piece is going to fail it will usually be when I do profile cut. So I’d rather fail the first 10 mins in than cut the entire 3d relief pass, which could be 1 hour + then fail during the profile pass. Hope I explained it well enough. I received that question a few times so I’m getting the feeling I’m doing it ass backwards lol. Thanks for watching!
@encarwoodworking the problem with doing it first you just eliminated a lot of your work holding even with the tape (which I am not a fan of at all). So now all that lateral first exerted while doing the other operations is more likely to make your work move or break completely off.
In this case you are absolutely right. Usually I use clamps and tabs. And the tabs are pretty thick. So on this piece I resorted in doing the same process but not using tabs, which definitely an oversight

Very nice
Thank you for watching and the kind words!
Why put shellac on it before cutting?
It helps the oramask to stay in place when I begin carving. Thanks for watching!
What does the oramask do? Could you sand the top instead?
What grit sandpaper did you use to sand all that off?? & how far (total) did you cut down on the depth?? I would think that if you used to coarse of a grit of sandpaper it’d removed spots that you don’t want to be removed. And I would also that think that if you didn’t cut down far enough (Z-) it’d remove a spots that you don’t want removed when you go to sand it down. 🤔 🤷♂️ Anyways great video though! Thanks 👍
So I do a depth of cut .07 and 320 grit sand paper. I don’t sand too aggressively, especially over the dark areas. Thanks for watching

Beautiful piece you did for your buddy. I know he'll love it. Great Job as always. 👋👏👏
Thanks again Ron! I always appreciate your kind words!
Good job, it came out really nice!!! 👍👍

The wood used was mahogany and white oak. Thanks for watching!
Looks great very clean!

Incredible work and design! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words and for watching!
What program do you run
I run vectric vcarve pro.
@@encarwoodworking what made you choose that program over the other ones out there out of curiosity
@CrowWood.MetalWorks I believe it was based on reviews. Initially when I was shopping around all the programs were Greek to me, since I was a noobie. So I went with what many others have suggested. But based on my usage now, I recommend vectric software to others. I really like that there are numerous how-to vids for the vectric software. Hope this helped just little.
@@encarwoodworking it did thanks.
I love this. I would love to make something like this for Army Military Police. Any idea where I could find a file for this?
If I remember correctly it was either in the file section of a FB group or Etsy. Thanks for your kind words and for watching!
horrible
Appreciate you watching still!
Where can I get a copy of this design layout?
I bought this file on Etsy but im sure this can be found on numerous FB groups as well. But the ones I found on FB tends cleaning up in node editing.
where can I get the computer layout for my axiom 6?
I’m not sure if you mean the svg file. But I believe I got this file off a FB group I frequent. Unfortunately I frequent numerous groups so I could tell you which one. I will try to find out though.
What is the plan ? Are we Supposed to read your mindset ? Somebody else can have my seat ,I like the talking videos . . Sorry dude but your channel 1 star at best
Thanks for watching anyways!
Love your work... I controlled a lot of Marine Fighters in NVN. What software/process did you use to convert the photo to Black and White? Thanks. Ace
So I basically try to find a basic black and white photo then do bitmap tracing in inkscape. The vectric software has bitmap tracing but doesn’t trace as well. Thanks for the watching and the kind words! I really appreciate it!
WOW! Wonderful piece. Amazing machine to be able to do this. Always wanted to try this, might give it a try. Thanks for sharing the process.
Thanks as always Ron!
Nice work.
Thanks for the kind words!
Wow1 that turned out different than i thought it would. Actually, while you were carving i didn't have any idea what it was. Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Some of us who actually handcarved the stuff are really going to lose money
Awesome work!!!
Thank you so much 😀
very nice...what finish did you use?
I used mineral oil for the finish. Thanks for the kind words!
Did you make file yourself and if so how?
I did not make this file. I was able to get it off one of the many FB groups I follow. Unfortunately I can’t remember which.
Great job looks great i have been carving a lot of cherry with my CNC I will have to try MDF again its been a while
I like MDF a lot since it is inexpensive, but it is hard on the bits. I appreciate you watching and the kind words!
Where did you get the file?
I got of off Etsy.
You could cut a piece of glass and put it in the bottom to preserve the carve. Pop the glass out to clean it dry put back in
Funny you say that. I’ve been thinking the same thing for these ashtrays so the graphic can still been seen. Thanks for the confirmation!
@@encarwoodworking just have to grind the edges a little. Should make them for cigars, just a wider groove.
@Mr.Peabody961 I can’t agree more, especially since I’m a cigar guy. But I purchased this file on Etsy and left it as is.
What’s the secret? I’ve tried shellac but I still get bleed through into the wood. Even after sanding the wood turns black, the paint is dry, shellac is dry. Nice work btw.
Yea it can be difficult. I also get bleeding even after using shellac or lacquer. I really can’t say for sure but I do sometimes do a deeper depth of cut so it allows me to sand more material, which allows me to get most of the bleeding
@@encarwoodworking what tooling and setup did you use for the words? 60 degree? .1 depth?
@Mr.Peabody961 I’ll check when I get home but it was definitely 60 degree vbit.
@@encarwoodworking thanks, appreciate it. Btw what fonts work for you I’m still struggling with finding ones that consistently look good.
@Mr.Peabody961 it’s tough to say. If I’m carving a file I bought from Etsy or got from FB I pretty much leave it alone. But if I’m making something from scratch I always go through the list to see what works. I also browse dafont.com and see what looks cool.
