Echo Bay resort, Lake Hayward, Hayward WI postcards. Also a Smitty's Liquors postcard (across the road from Echo Bay) and a Thomas' Fishin Fun ad (neighbor to Echo Bay). I have such a sweet spot for Echo Bay. My family and I as a child visited there many times in the late 1960's and 70's. Bob and Madge were such nice people. Madge always made homemade stuffed animals for the local hospital gift...

Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
i Attended School at New Post School when i Lived at Indian Trail Resort Grades 1Thru 8 in One room ! The Best Education of my Life !
wow! You lived at Indian trail resort? I think our family stayed there in the late 90s. It’s on Chippewa flowage, right? nice place. What was it like to live at a resort? What was school like in such a mixed age class? It sounds like you really liked and benefited from your school. Thanks for commenting!
Very nice!
That’s why don’t like to swim in lakes
Oh but the water up there makes it worth it!! Swimming is the best up there.... :)
❤❤❤
Thank you for commenting. It's a beautiful event! :)

My brother caught a 55", 54 lb muskie on the Ear River in Ontario in '92. Not a record, but the lodge owner had it mounted and uses it in trade shows to promote his guide biz.
Easy to tell from pics it's barely 50" if even that, nice fish...but anywhere near the claim? no. Well documented scam.
yeah...in 1949....and his brother in law the only one who said it was true....gtfo, also that's fiberglass, not a fish.
It was well worth checking this out.
Four of the last five world record muskies are said. to all been faked. length and weight not verified So believe whatever you want.
I was born and raised in Hayward, graduating from High School and joining the Air Force in 1976. Hayward was the typical small town, everybody knew everybody and the good and bad that goes with that. I no longer live there but want to move back. But lack of housing is an issue as it is either old run down houses or expensive properties in the outlying areas. I get it, the area is wonderful in that regard. My son, grandson and I spend the November hunting season with my brother in law. I can speak on this issue as being a Hayward native with authority. The economy of Hayward, with some exceptions, is a three legged stool of logging, tourism, and welfare. I can't be any more blunt than that, but it is what it is. As I retire I will be spending more time in my beloved hometown and I miss it terribly.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, I've heard that Sawyer county is the poorest county in Wisconsin but don't know that for sure--so your description of the economy doesn't surprise me. As a person who's always loved it as a vacationer -- and now, finally! Having a little property there, I get your point about the housing. From what I've seen even the small houses in town are going for a lot of money for what they are. To me it seems like there's alot of generational wealth there: families that have owned resorts for 80 years etc.. But again, I'm an outsider looking in on the day to day of Hayward. Maybe you could find some place close like Winter to get a house in that's affordable? Idk -- But I'm glad to hear that you will be going back. It's still as beautiful as ever! There's just something about it... :)
Btw--not sure why that one line of type has a line through it, so sorry for that! I didn't try to do that! LOL
💞Wow🤍🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🤍🧡
Sure miss my home town
Wow, you lived in Hayward? I bet that was wonderful! When did you live there? What was it like to live there? We only visited once a year and ever since i was little wished I could've lived there. It was just so happy and beautiful! I know, vacations are happy usually, but it really did (and still does) have a really fun/happy vibe about it :)
👍🏻😳
Spent alot of time on lac court orles in late 60s early 70s great times
What what is like back then on Lac Courte Oreilles? My family and I spent the late 60's and 70's at first on Lake Hayward and then on Lost Land Lake. I have such good memories as a kid of Hayward -- the go karts, mini golf with animals, Drive in theater ...etc.. Do you remember when Angler's bar used to have an open floor freezer chest outside and have the latest big fish in it for everyone to see?
I probably should've asked - where did you stay? We stayed at Echo Bay resort on Lake Hayward and then around 1975 Northland Lodge on Lost Land Lake for a few years and then back to Evergreen Resort on Lake Hayward....
@@caughtintime77 stayed at anglers a few times, Bruce and Sarah brother Paul were the owners then but was familiarized with couter ray, grindstone and durphee from a friend who’s family owned a small cabin in Chicago bay on lac couter
@@GeorgeLaBue Sounds very nice...those older places were so warm and friendly...ever caught a big musky? I've caught a couple small ones...
@@caughtintime77 3 myself 42” being the largest caught have seen some 50”+ several times
That is a huge fish.
How musky became that big 😮
Nom nom nom nom nom!
pretty easy to lie before cameras tape measures, scales, officials etc. this guy is well documented to have falsified this wildly.
Good old days are real, the grand mother of my wife got pictures of cod fishing in Gaspésie Quebec, you just not believe how big they can be, some reach more than 200 lbs. For that Musky, hi want to believe some big fish get caught in the 50s in that incredible Wisconsin 1000 lakes country.
Good ol days are real, also liars existed then. Look at pics from any 30's 40's 50's 60's "world records" they weren't even close to what they claimed.
Come to Hayward on vacation and leave on probation
You say that from experience?😂
Um, hmmmmm……. Tourists don’t get it.
Thought the world record was caught by Louie sprays 69lbs 11oz 63 1/2 Chippewa flowage in 1949?
the matchbox 20 in the background to funny
Been there a million times lol..
Cool video! What's the music?
Anybody remember KATRI RESORT ON LOWER TWIN LAKE
