Its a bit faster, a bit like Japan 1975 when poor Tommy Bolin started the riff too fast and when Paiceys drums came in it sounded like the local disco. Blackmores solo is great, Gillan sounds strong, better than the Perfect Strangers tour. Long live Ritchie Blackmore. God rest Jon Lord.

I really liked this collaboration. Drugs are really unfortunate. This time it delayed a perfect combination with at least 3 years.

Hello ! I'm french, and I was there as well (I got a backstage pass from Jon Lord, for both Brussels and Stockholm shows). Someone else who was there (he told me he saw Purple 13 times on this tour, I only did 7) disagrees with me about a simple fact: I'm 100% sure they played Speed King, and this other fan is sure they didn't ! Can you remember if they did or not ? The concert you uploaded doesn't feature Speed King, and the video we can watch here on youtube does not either, yet I suspect it's the same audio source, hence the song being left out... who's right ? Either him or me obviously ! Thanks for your answer. Cheers.

Oh this is gold, been searching for one live song from this era and this has it.

This band amazed me when their tracks came around on Pandora. The Tardigrade album was mesmerizing. Simon Says demands too much from most listeners. Much like Gentle Giant and some periods of Eloy (German prog band) and King Crimson.

I was at this very show, The Almighty opened for Alice, great night! Then later, Skid Row played the same venue with LA Guns, amazing show as well =) But I remeber him closing this show with Wind up toy, my favorite song off of the Hey Stoopid album.
