Kosta going 32+ knots on his AXIS Blast Board!
A picture perfect afternoon at Manly Beach on the Whangaparāoa Peninsula in Auckland to follow wingfoil superstar Kosta flying around the bay.
If I wasn't filming I would be sure some scenes were in fast forward!
Impressive work Kosta - he was riding a new AXIS Blast board with a 5m PPC M1.

NZ Wingfoil Champion Sean Herbert Training off Manly Beach

It was a beautiful afternoon on the Whangaparāoa Peninsula to follow Sean Herbert (NZ Wingfoil Champion) training in his home waters in front of Manly Sailing Club. I've been filming local NZ wing foil regattas for the last couple of years and needed to buy a new & faster drone to keep up with the fleet! Sean and others are now hitting over 30 knots mid-race! Sean was the ideal person to line m...
Inaugural New Zealand Wingfoil National Championships | 2023 - Manly Sailing Club

The inaugural New Zealand Wingfoil Championships at Manly Sailing Club was incredible! We had 2 amazing days of racing and got through 10 races in total. Day 1 was wild to say the least with gusts of over 35 knots. Day 2 provided more enjoyable conditions for both the sailors and race officials on the water with more moderate winds. Thank you to the team at the Manly Sailing Club and to all the...

Wingfoil Racing at Manly Sailing Club | Event # 5 A great afternoon of wingfoil racing at MSC on Sunday 13th November. The competitors enjoyed a mix of Windward/Leeward racing and some reaching slalom races. The new race bibs worked very well for tracking results. A bit light at times so looking forward to the next race day with a solid breeze! :)

Towing the AXIS 1310 at 20knots? + Pumping & Paddling
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.2 года назад
The AXIS 1310 is clearly an absolute machine when it comes to pump records but wanted to see how it felt being towed at 20 knots (~37kph) behind the boat. It handled the higher speeds so well and felt extremely balanced and steady. This was behind a little 25HP boat so keen to try again behind our faster boat to find the limit. My goal for summer is to refine my pump technique and fitness and t...

Super cool !
Super clean footage
Crazy how good foils are getting. Starting at around 22 seconds in the vid he's heeled over riding with tip out for a good while, no issue whatsoever.... smooth as silk.
We need to organise a one way drag race in auckland. No tacks, no gybes just start line to finish line! All wind powered entries welcome from P Class to Olympic Kite Foil and everything in between like you know, A75’s an Piedys, might even allow wingers and 88’s if they can keep up with the opti’s
i remember that day i was out on the water sailing i think
Yea boi 🤙🤙

Fun until you hit a lump of kelp?
Fake video ....run in fast forward
I love this comment! - it is affirmation that the rider looks like they are sending it! :) Grateful for Sport mode on the DJI Air3s to give me a chance of keeping up! :)
Looks fast! Interested to hear the details of the rest of the setup. Ultra mast?
Thanks Dave! Beautiful day to film some speed runs. Yes they are running an Ultra 105 mast and a small prototype front foil :)
32kt highly doubtful... Why would you post a speed without even mentioning what foil he is riding?
Our current NZ Wingfoil champ yesterday hit over 35 knots max or 33.5 for 10s average. The level of wingfoil racing in NZ is high! The foil is a prototype. Enjoy the water! :)
Agree. The title suggests it's the board, which is a bit silly.
Looks very efficient 👍. Congratulations to the rider. What foil setup does he ride? Small ART pro? Small Fireball prototype?
Thank you Arnaud - he is a very talented young rider and came 2nd at the NZ Champs earlier this year. He was on a prototype foil which was going very quick.
for top speed why does the board even matter?
The kite boating looks fun! :) Wanted those interested to be able to see the new AXIS Blast boards in action with the title. I agree that the board may not be the most pivotal piece of the puzzle for pure speed runs. Enjoy! :)
Yeah, speed more about aerodynamics of the wetsuit
@ yeah i know right, the wetty stops the junk being an airbrake
@@FoilTycoon what is the best axis board i could get for my fancy new axis foil, i’m a total noob, all the gear no idea, got one gybe with my jshapes dinner plate foil and just got an axis setup, currently i’m using an old fone board with the axis but want something cooler haha
@@thekiteboatparty3568 Hey mate - nice work sounds like you're making progress. If the board you currently have is in good condition and you find it relatively easy to balance on it's probably fine to stick with that while you dial in your gybes and tacks etc. In time I would get a board that is around your bodyweight in litres. However some people prefer using boards much smaller depending on what type of conditions they like to ride in and if they prefer jumping etc.
What type of gybes are those? Not one ive seen before..
Soo good! Keep it coming…
Serious cant
You won't find that wing on the shelves!
because he`s racing mast only
Great drone footage and video and the wingfoiling isn't bad either!
Nice video. Was my favourite windsurfing spot.
From Sandy Bay down south?
Great footage! Lots of good ideas to try now
Anew North wing with double skin canopy ?!
I discover it right now too O.O
Outstanding work Sam!
Nice video!
@@SailChaser thank you! Looking forward to some video colabs this summer! :)
0:27 Did he hit something in the water?
Clean! No one else out?
HI, which rear wing you used?
Do they switch from regular to goofy when they turn the tack side?
Nice! Was it course racing or slalom? Good to see so many people participating
Hi there, yes it was a fantastic turnout of people. The course Start - Reach on Starboard to Mark 1 - Downwind to Mark 2 - Back Upwind to Mark 1 - Down to 2 - Then a reach on Port to a Finish boat. Simple course and worked well. :)
Wonder which foil set up these guy are using? Id like a quicker axis foil then my 1150/460 combo.
No helmet, no safety vest, no nothing. Poor idiotic...
Nice wind conditions.
Very nice race very nice video !
See you in bali
Please is it an 82 or 75 mast?
Fantastic drone skills and a great example why we need windows when racing 01:42
If only you could boost or get a good bit of air on these kites,
Is that a standard NSP board you are doing that on?
Hi there, yes just a normal production 5'10 x 25 @ 96litres. Works well. I've since got a longer and narrower board which makes it even easier.
What about the wind speed in knots?
So leeward ( downwind) guy with black wing had right of way? Windward racer should look out to his leeward side while racing, yes? Very cool !
Yeah. Think you’re right. Upwind guy would have to give way.
piece of history here!
Ha thank you! Feels like a while ago now :)
Epic kook out at the end🎉😂
Looks fun!
Should Helmets be mandatory for WingFoil Races?
What fuselage and rear stab? thanks
This would have been with the Black Short Fuse and 420 Rear (with the tips)
Auckland ?
Rade de Toulon I suppose
@@marshrandie4531😂😂😂
Definitely Auckland NZ
Do you think the 1150 or the 1310 is easier to flat water pop up?
For me the 1310 felt significantly easier and is all I use now on flat water :)
What about the new 1201? Have you compared it to the 1310?
What was the ~ speed of the Fishing boat? Nice ride!
A great wake. It was approximately 12 knots.
Great wake thieving! Well done!
Lots of fun indeed! :)
Line length? Kite size?
❤ this combo makes sense - super light kite + super ha foil
