LS swap. Done.
Excellent work brother, thank you
Hey man I've really been enjoying the series. I just got my 07k installed in my 944 and I've found myself looking up your videos to see how things go together several times. Thank you and keep up the good work Also, on the earlier cars the fuel lines come up under the brake booster, but the size of them is the same. 8mm pressure and 10mm return hard lines and compression fittings will work to adapt directly from the steel lines to -6 AN
I forgot to mention this in the video, but there should be an o-ring between the sandwich plate and the adapter plate! Dont forget to put that in!
I hope you still have this car!
Beautiful color choice, that gold accent and the black single line around the car... It's gorgeous.
So I watched till the end. Very good advice on being prepared to deal with things not going well. I'm just getting back into it again and will need to keep that advice in mind. Thanks again.
Spencer is the man! I keep reaching out to him as needed.
Thanks so much. I'm already past most of the stuff you mentioned, but I'm only now getting back to the project so a nice review of things. Plus its great to hear your perspective on common questions/issues/concerns. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
It's a Journey, an adventure; can't rush perfection. I love ya brother and I am very proud of you. Thank you for this episode, Lookin' forward to the next one.
I had a 1985 it was 190 hp. I could run with 5.0's and iroc z's of the time.
The only way you learn is by doing. Anything can be fixed. Great videos man. Can’t wait for the power steering info
I am living your car life brother ! I have the same exact car - 82 Terra Cotta Manual Celica Supra. It had the seats you have, but I got a pair of the bucket seats on Ebay from another MK2 and so glad I did. I had had the same exact car years ago in California (with the seats you have), and loved it and it was the car I always regretted selling, Found another one of the same exact cars again during Covid in great shape and had to have it. (same price you did). That inline 6 cylinder, double over head cam is just amazing. My air conditioner and stereo don't work, but not worried now because the AC would just drain power, and the stereo would just cover over that magnificent sound of the engine. I'm happy every time I drive it and is just great on the hilly, curvy roads of Pennsylvania. I love the analog, naturally aspirated experience. You have to drive one to understand,. And same thing, at Cars and Coffee events - I see a lot of Porsches and Ferraris(granted, wonderful cars), but not one of these. And every time I take it out on the road, it always gets love from people. They are wildly under-valued, but who cares - I'm never selling it !
What a journey, glad your on the end of a beginning Cam! Been watching since the 1st video about the BBG 07K 944 swap. I am as well doing the N/A build. Turbo will always come later down the road. Is there a way I can reach out to you on Facebook or any social media account? Would love to chat more!
Hey of course. I'm on Discord at alliedcam1 or you can join the 944 - 07k Swap group on Facebook
So clarifying question: the Mishimoto oil cooler-you bought that to replace the cheap/defective power steering cooler?
I purchased their power steering cooler. It's identical to the oil cooler, except it has an-6 barbs on top instead of an-10 ones. I have that oil cooler already in the car. Hope that helps!
“All completely analog “ 😂 literally has a digital gauge cluster .
Well you know....except for THAT 😅
Another great video, Cam - You're doing gods work pointing out all the little idiosyncrasies.. I didn't even know about the fuel injector o-rings..
I have been at ground zero 3 times in my 951 project, so just keep going! mistakes are about overcoming, adapting and remember what you learned. and use torquespec :D
Well you gained another sub , you make me miss my 80s supra. Enjoyed your review and the video at start.
Could you share the part number for the thermostat housing? Is it factory or aftermarket? Im having a difficult time
Hey! It came as a part of the boost brothers swap kit. You can see it on their website. Maybe they can sell it to you individually
thanks a lot for your insight! Made me decide not to go the K07 way despite the great sound! Good luck with your project!
Well I'm sad there won't be more 07k swaps, I totally get that. What are you going to do instead?
Wow what a journey! I am in the process of building my 07K swap into my 944 as well. Halfway through, I can't wait to start mine up when everything is all done
Anyone know if this works with Euro front bumper?
Thanks for doing this! My project is on pause due to having a baby but this will be a great reference once I can get back at it!
That RV you pass by time 1400 was better looking than that supra you paid 14000 grand R U nuts I rather have the celica model U got riffed off donate and give that car to a young person he will love it and appreciate it that car is not for a old timer like you go plant a garden
I will sleep on it weird looking car but it look really nice in it's time with the back window louver I would not buy tha car for a 2000 grand
WOOOOO!!!
loll
loll
Congrats!
There we go!
Congratulations!!!
Hey alliedcam1 i am 23 and one a 1977 toyota celica ta23 5speed and its all origineel
What area of Washington was this filmed in? It's gorgeous!
I had an 83, one of my favorite cars of all time
Love it. Brown interior does not go at all.
I never left appreciating Analog Cars! I appreciate technology and am an avid user of it, but I drove mostly Analog Cars throughout my life and there is Nothing like the connection to the actual Driving Experiene that you get with these older more Raw cars. Personallly if this becomes a bigger trend I would not be surprised if we see Car Companies return to this type of reduced tech car building..Great video!
Turbo bumper became standard on the S2 NA models in 89.
the thing I hear most often when Im out with my mk2 is "you dont see a lot of these around anymore"
Lessons learned part 2 coming?
Not yet! Once I have more progress I'm sure I'll have more mistakes to document!
Yeah I have a Celica gt 1982 they are criminally slept on which was good for me cause I got my dream car for cheap but for a 1980’s group b rally icon and one of the last rwd analog Toyotas
Great video and music choice 🎉🎉
Any updates?
I have a 1983 Toyota celica supra amazing car
Very very nice car ! Trying to get one, but looks to be difficult. Enjoy ;)
A lot of us have gotten to that point where we are looking to make life better and progress . My 944 07k had it`s first start today . Here is to 2024 .
Love all the information that you share and im stating my swap and saving for now but I bought my engine. Bring the pain :)...
Really great points, i would say the best advice i was given from Elliot at 944barn was make sure to get all your parts together before pulling the car apart to minimize downtime. I ordered the builders kit for affordability reasons but there is so much stuff to buy to just make this work. Im in it for the long haul. I just really want to hear that 5 cylinder turbo sing! Keep up the good work man!
The 944 Turbo has the same back bumper as the NA versions..
Realized that after I posted. Oops.
Nice kit. Glad to know these exist.
