Video of the mighty Citi Field scoreboard as Edwin Diaz comes in to pitch the top of the 9th inning for the New York Mets against the San Francisco Giants at the Citi Field stadium, May 25, 2024.
Unfortunately, this was before Grimace and before OMG, and the Mets' performance showed. Diaz came into the game with the Mets leading 2-1, but he'd give up a hit to leadoff batter Wilmer Flores, and his run (represented by pinch runner Ryan McKenna) would later score to tie the game. The Mets would not score, forcing the game to go into extra innings; in the 10th, San Francisco would score 5 runs against Sean Reid-Foley and go on to win by a score of 7-2.     It's amazing how fans want to sit their and actually cheer for Tyrone Taylor. He couldn't hit when playing for the Brewers, and I can't picture that his hitting has improved at all.
