choji was always an joke character to me till chunin arc. after that when he went with naruto, shikamaru, neji and stuff he became one of my fav characters i can relate to him as i saw his backstory in my opinion he was one of those "dont juge a book by hes cover" character i love him

as much as I hated it as a kid this was the character I related to the most.

These characters are all human, and all humans have abilities... sadly people think "justu" is the ability... it's kindness and sacrifice. Jesus restored me to those abilities.

Such an amazing and beautiful theme, as soon as I heard this I was instantly drawn to it. Same as everyone else I thought Chouji was a joke but it was this part when you got to see his backstory and how he fought for his friends is when I took him more seriously and liked him more.
