When i first saw choji,i thought he was a joke but when i saw his backstory, i never felt so sad for the guy. People always looked down on him because of his weight and nobody ever took him seriously, i can relate. But he is a badass in his own way, especially when he fought against one of orochimaru's followers jirobo. This song makes me wanna cry every time i hear this.
I think I read on the wiki that Chouji was actually the first of the Konoha 11/12 character to kill another character on screen. (one on one anyway) Very interesting that the gentlest of the characters is the first one in his year to actually do that. (Could be wrong though.)
+storytsunami You are right I think. And I've been rewatching Part I for the last two weeks, I'm at Naruto and Sasuke's final fight, then skipping the fillers to get into Shippuden, so I would know. Naruto almost did when Haku was willing to let Naruto kill him but then he's all like "sorry Naruto, one more thing" when he senses that Kakashi is attempting to kill Zabuza.
Me too!I thought he was just a jovial character and to be taken lightly and just comic relief! But his backstory was sad!Just thinking of his story while listening to this is sad!He is just so sweet and kind!
Yeah, back in their rookie ears, they could probably have beaten team 7 if they fought, Choji can become the size of a mountain (and none of team 7 comes even close to strong enough to lift him up) Shikamaru is like 2x as smart as Sakura, and the mind destruction jutsu could easily stop Sasuke and Naruto's incredible speed
what are you saying? asuma had a lot of screen time, his death was important to the series, the inoshikasho was important in the war etc. guy´s team have the best taijustsu fighters, and some of the best fighters in general. team 7, do i even have to say anything. then there´s team kurenai who did fucking nothing throughout the series.
Conker Juega Kiba and Akamaru faced Naruto, Sakon and Ukon pretty well, and Shino defeated Kankurou , who's did fucking nothing was the sensei who only served to make Itachi looks as a genjutsu master, or Hinata only to make Neji look strong
Iruka taught me not to judge people by their reputations, but their personalities Haku taught me that there is no good or evil when you're protecting the ones you love Neji taught me that if you leave your pride behind, you can always change your destiny Rock Lee taught me that hard work beats talent Kakashi taught me that teamwork and friendship stand above the rules Hinata taught me that love is worth fighting for Sai taught me that a life without feelings isn't worthwhile Sakura taught me that weakness is a choice Gaara taught me how painful loneliness can be and how love can change someone Nagato taught me that revenge and hatred can lead to more revenge and hatred Asuma taught me how important it is to take care of the next generation Shikamaru taught me that sometimes you even have to do the things that bother you Maito Dai taught me that it doesn't really matter what people think about you Kushina and Minato taught me that a parent's love never ends Maito guy taught me that no matter what , you always have to believe in yourself Sarutobi taught me that problems should be solved with kindness rather than violence Sasuke taught me that you shouldn't only dream about things but actually achieve them Itachi taught me that sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good Jiraiya taught me that you must never give up your faith in humanity and your hope of peace Tsunade taught me to never abandon the living for the dead Obito taught me that it is never too late to revert the right way Madara taught me that peace is no peace with freedom Choji taught me to take someone seriously no matter how they look And Naruto taught me to NEVER GIVE UP!
I've heard many lovely OSTs throughout the Naruto series, but this one is just... wow. I can't even describe the beauty I sense in this song. It almost touches your heart and makes you experience Choji's childhood loneliness alongside him.
When I first heard it alongside Choji's past I knew Naruto was a deep show. Kishimoto must have been through or experienced such sadness, to express such loneliness and sadness in such a powerful way
I figured out the butterfly metaphor. Choji started out as a hungry, fat caterpillar. His final battle was his metamorphosis into a butterfly, each pill representing a different phase of his life. The final pill killed him because butterflies die shortly after taking form. A butterfly lands on him with his final breath, thus completing his arc. That was when I started taking the show seriously. Before, I thought Naruto was a silly, dumb show (that I started watching thinking I could laugh at it for being so bad). The butterflies in Choji's episodes were a beautiful use of imagery that will forever leave me stunned.
I can see many qualities of Chouji in myself; Chouji grew up timid, shy, sweet, rejected, yet polite, and enabling. He may have not always succeeded, and years of being picked on made him doubt himself, but his charisma, and love/devotion to his loved ones is what gives him strength. I think if there was someone else (other than Naruto) who contrasted the cold, self-self-serving, antipathy of Sasuke, it definitely would be Chouji, who does not rely on pain/suffering/ego to become his strength, but rather love.
The scene of Choji "dying" from the effect of the pills he took to defeat Jirobo, seeing him walking with difficulty to see the trees scratched with some encouragement of his friends, making him realizing and crying that he finally had friends before he "succumbs". My top 10 saddest moments of Naruto.
Choji is seriously underrated. He is so kindhearted and sweet, so sweet to the point he doesn't want to fight his teammates for some exercise. I wish he did more in the fight with Kakuzu
Sometimes we have no other choice but to walk the wrong path. It is the only path that numbs that crazy pain in our hearts, the pain of this obscure world. Kimimaro was a human who had no purpose, he clung to the first purpose that came into his life: Living for Orochimaru. Don't hate on people for wanting a purpose, imagine your life without any purpose. It is the most painful thing in this
Odd Kensei there is no truth to what you say you are but a fool who speaks a dying philosophy of a fragile disgusting man well that maybe true the universe is dark but we will brighten it forever and fill it with our voices
Hannon Lowe My darkness is welcome in the realm of the wise. With darkness comes wisdom, and with wisdom comes light. Accepting the inevitability of fate is the truest essence of Yin and Yang. Nihilism? No.
Choji to me is an idol to other kids out there who have had the aamw happen to them and im one of them ivw always been called stupid, dumb, idiot, weak and told alot of other rude stuff but just when i thought i should just stop tying to do abything and stuff like that my brother told me " Hey bud whats up? Oh they messin with you again? Well why dont you go play with your friends? Well those kids are punks and they sont deserve to have a friend as awesome as you. Your not like much other kids your different so they might pick on you for that but i bet they just jelous. Listen i knowvthat someday your gonna make some awesome amazing friends that will stick up for you and help you out and stick by your side forever and when that day cones you have to do the same for them sonetimes. Welp im off to work cya bud!" later on that night i met a kid named Adrian and he said i was a weurdo and that he likes weird people cuz they fun so when i webt home to tell my mom the news about me making my first friend she was crying.....my brother died in a car crash.... my mom was devastated and we were all sad for a really long time but then my friend told me that it will be ok that my brother still lives on in my heart and not to give up cuz i ahd him to help me trough this so then he helpe me get over this and i made alot of other friens but i still lost my brother in the process im sad he didnt get to see me now and through the process....my friends said he would be proud of me and all the friends i have made and it make me wonder if maybe he is watching over me and proud of what ive accomplished
um.....I'm the same here but my brother never like you know......but I'm just like you with the same feelings and I've been bullied all my life from pre-k to 6th grade and a lot of people in my life have died and in my heart all I feel is dark, sadness, and unhappiness..and I always had a big pain in my heart I'm not the same as choji I'm more like naruto but I don't know how long it will last I just hope it won't last forever
The way they believed in him and carved on the tree to catch up cause they knew he’d win. Choji being thankful for his friends. And him genuinely thinking he’d die really got to me. Choji a GOAT.
For anybody who thinks that this is not Chouji's theme you're wrong. It was played for him first in the anime which would make it his theme, even if they used it for seperate characters further on in the series.
choji was always an joke character to me till chunin arc. after that when he went with naruto, shikamaru, neji and stuff he became one of my fav characters i can relate to him as i saw his backstory in my opinion he was one of those "dont juge a book by hes cover" character i love him
I cry every time I here this. Just remembering how choji risked his life for his friends, and how shikmaru wrote one the tree. It makes me cry all the time.
Guys I started watching naruto in November last year and today I watch the two episodes with choji episode 113 and 114 and literally cried for choji this song is now my favorite naruto song it fit perfectly with the episode and I literally said to myself I can't believe I'm crying for choji I never would have thought I would cry for choji I cried for naruto gaara and sasuke and tsunade after those choji episodes I realized why I liked this show it's because it shows that there is more to a person that is what is shown because that's real about actually people I know it's a simple concept but I feel like we forget that other people are human that there is more to them
In my personal opinion, Choji is such an underrated character. I didn't like him as much as first, but after his fight with Jirobo, he really grew to me as a character quite alot. I love his kind nature, how he can't hurt even hurt his comrades even if it's just for training.
Such an amazing and beautiful theme, as soon as I heard this I was instantly drawn to it. Same as everyone else I thought Chouji was a joke but it was this part when you got to see his backstory and how he fought for his friends is when I took him more seriously and liked him more.
In that part i cried 😥😢😢 when i saw him first time i said HA LOOK A FAT BOY but while i saw the tv show i saw that you dont have to consider people by his outside
These characters are all human, and all humans have abilities... sadly people think "justu" is the ability... it's kindness and sacrifice. Jesus restored me to those abilities.
"Probable spoiler" I was all over in tears when I thought Chouji and Neji died but then came the episode when the doctors saved them. And on that episode, I wasn't crying out of sadness, I was crying out of joy. Although, I was mostly touched by Neji's fight and his words. The episodes with Neji's and Chouji's fights were some of the saddest ones I've watched.
So very true. I was so sad when it looked like each member of the team sent after Sasuke was going to die. Neji and Chouji managed to the impossible for their teammates. For a while, I thought Kiba and Lee were going to go the same route, along with maybe Naruto. Thankfully no one died during the mission. Well, at least no Konoha forces died, lol.
i'm totally agreed with you , that the best Theme i ever heard , my heart crying when this song coming out when choji fighting againt jirobo thanks you man
It's so good to realize the americans like Naruto too. I'm from Brazil, this is a beautiful song, I love it, it's too sad but it gets me very happy... my english is not so good, but I hope you get it. All the best!
the thing about naruto is you can never tell whether a person is dead forever or not. i was so close to crying when choji and the others "died". thank goodness they're alive.
Chouji would have to be one of the most underrated characters in Naruto. He isn't seen in many fights, and is always picked on for being fat. I don't think it's fair. He's an amazing Shinoubi and even better- he has an amazingly large heart. he cares for Shikamaru more than anything. I usually never cry but during his fight with Jiroubou was one of the only times I cried during an anime.
At the beginning of the series, I thought that they are just some loosers, but in Shippuden they got an really important role and really I changed my mind about them. They are great theme!
When I looked into the background of Chouji it was dark depressing and sad, its weird how people behave around people you don't know or isn't the average person, you shouldn't judge depending of the look or personality. Even if this is or is not Chouji's theme if its Kimimaro's or Chouji's its still amazing I think its Kimimaro's
@Miawff Actually, it kinda is both. Well, Kimimaro's demise is different. Starts the same but then changes. That's his demise, and this is choji's. Just come to think of it, sometimes they play themes of someone even if he isn't in that fight. Like with kiba they sometimes play rock lee's theme, and with tenten they play temari's theme and stuff. Thumbs up if you agree!
Dont worry Son someday you will find a group of friends who see that quality inside you and respect you for it...cherish does friends choji- Akamichi Choza
When he fought the first strong guy and he god mad because of his last potato chip man i was mad sad not only because he was bullied but because i didnt see him enjoy his last potato chip
@Emoney101010 no. the spinach pill gives him more chakra I think, then the yellow one lets him expand his body parts, and the red chilli pepper makes him grow the butterfly wings.
He got super skinny! Choji is one of my favorite characters because he is a lot deeper than he seems. He is always so caring for others, he is a lot like Naruto in that regard.
Choji is one of the best characters in Naruto, he fights for his friends, he was sure he will die when he turned into a butterfly in fight with Jirobo, but he did this for his friends. Luckly, he survived.
when somebody precious to you decides you are not precious to them anymore its a faith worse than death to feel love for somebody who dont return the same feelings the deepest wound is a wound of the heart
This is my heart... I've been turned down, I've been spit out my hearts broken no doubt, but I wont give up I wont give in, if that's what they want me to do then I wont, ill keep livin...listen to me guys chase your dreams... if you give up then it was never as hard as it seemed.. why are we so sad we have to take the risk every morning walking to the gas station for a bottle of brisk, but tell me why ,no don't tell me lie, I never give up my life has no ups just Downs, give us the crowns.....
When i first saw choji,i thought he was a joke but when i saw his backstory, i never felt so sad for the guy. Team Asuma is the most underrated team..... Ino has a really useful jutsu, Chouji is a tough SOB and Shikamaru is the mastermind.....

Iruka taught me not to judge people by their reputations, but their personalities
Haku taught me that there is no good or evil when you're protecting the ones you love
Neji taught me that if you leave your pride behind, you can always change your destiny
Rock Lee taught me that hard work beats talent
Kakashi taught me that teamwork and friendship stand above the rules
Hinata taught me that love is worth fighting for
Sai taught me that a life without feelings isn't worthwhile
Sakura taught me that weakness is a choice
Gaara taught me how painful loneliness can be and how love can change someone
Nagato taught me that revenge and hatred can lead to more revenge and hatred
Asuma taught me how important it is to take care of the next generation
Shikamaru taught me that sometimes you even have to do the things that bother you
Maito Dai taught me that it doesn't really matter what people think about you
Kushina and Minato taught me that a parent's love never ends
Maito guy taught me that no matter what , you always have to believe in yourself
Sarutobi taught me that problems should be solved with kindness rather than violence
Sasuke taught me that you shouldn't only dream about things but actually achieve them
Itachi taught me that sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good
Jiraiya taught me that you must never give up your faith in humanity and your hope of peace
Tsunade taught me to never abandon the living for the dead
Obito taught me that it is never too late to revert the right way
Madara taught me that peace is no peace with freedom
Choji taught me to take someone seriously no matter how they look
And Naruto taught me to NEVER GIVE UP!
Just Splashy true
Dang bro, that’s deep.. really deep..
The Madara one tho😅
I love how he copied this from somewhere else, and just came up with his own one for choji
Rock Lee is brilliant because with a bit of determination, work and craftiness you can bend reality to your will if you please 👌👐💜

The red chili pepper pill didn't actually kill him. It nearly did, but he was able to be saved.
Keksimus Maximus Shhhhhhhhhh, let's just pretend he died poetically and heroically
he was meant to die though keksimus maximus; remember choji or one of them said that the last pill kills you
Damn, Chouji's arc made me cry now you're making me tearbend T-T
How was the show dumb or sily when it focused on Zabuza, Haku, Orochimaru, Neji and Gaara?
I can see many qualities of Chouji in myself; Chouji grew up timid, shy, sweet, rejected, yet polite, and enabling. He may have not always succeeded, and years of being picked on made him doubt himself, but his charisma, and love/devotion to his loved ones is what gives him strength.

True, but if choji were to try to bring sasuke back, he would fail because sasuke has nothing to love thanks to itachi.
Choji doesn't care what you do to him. But instead his friends and you will regret it.
He does care if you call him fat though, or takes his food.

This is EPIC. Sad, awesome, epic, just... blah. Masterpiece.
Underrated character
:OOOO I LOVE THIS THEME! i had no idea it was his! o my gorshhh! :D
most underated soundtrack ever
It is sad :'( ! Magnificent,Thanks :D
c'est triste :'( ! magnifique,merci :D
Choji you’re one of the best
I love you Chouji!!
this is so sad, I feel sad any times I hear this :(
One of the best fights in the whole show is his fight in the forest
Chouji would have to be one of the most underrated characters in Naruto. He isn't seen in many fights, and is always picked on for being fat. I don't think it's fair. He's an amazing Shinoubi and even better- he has an amazingly large heart. he cares for Shikamaru more than anything. I usually never cry but during his fight with Jiroubou was one of the only times I cried during an anime.
I freaking love chouji!!!!! He's so nice and kind!
C'est l'un des meilleurs thème naruto :)
Sooooooo sweet -3
i have listened this song so many times but i still cry sometimes
Damn I got big chills on those last 20 seconds, tragedy.
At the beginning of the series, I thought that they are just some loosers, but in Shippuden they got an really important role and really I changed my mind about them. They are great theme!
Este sountrak está 👏maravilloso 👏 👌 😍 😱 🙌 💕 👏 👌 😍
Probably the most epic weight loss story in history.
this song reminds me of the Kingdom Hearts themes they r similar like this :)
My favourite song out of the 53 animes that I've watched
People can beat me up all they want but if anyone ever lays one finger on any of my friends they will feel the rage inside me
@Miawff Actually, it kinda is both.
@Emoney101010
no. the spinach pill gives him more chakra I think, then the yellow one lets him expand his body parts, and the red chilli pepper makes him grow the butterfly wings.
He got super skinny! Choji is one of my favorite characters because he is a lot deeper than he seems. He is always so caring for others, he is a lot like Naruto in that regard.
shut up
He's not fat...just very chubby. Long live Choji Akimichi.
This theme fits Kimimaro more.It feels like it was made for him.
he's a pretty butterfly!
Him- naruto Choji's theme
Every naruto fan-Ranmaru and Raiga and Kimimaro's theme
kimimaro’s demise
This is my heart... I've been turned down, I've been spit out my hearts broken no doubt, but I wont give up I wont give in, if that's what they want me to do then I wont, ill keep livin...listen to me guys chase your dreams... if you give up then it was never as hard as it seemed.. why are we so sad we have to take the risk every morning walking to the gas station for a bottle of brisk, but tell me why ,no don't tell me lie, I never give up my life has no ups just Downs, give us the crowns.....
My brother was surprised to hear that this was actually Choji's theme
