Akina Nakamori, Toshihiko Tahara, and Hidemi Ishikawa rehearse for a skit called Outdoor School: Introduction to Love. This footage was part of a later, different broadcast, as you can see an early-90's era Akina react in the bottom corner. In the skit, their characters all have names similar, but different to their real ones. The original broadcast was from 1983, on the program Yan Yan Utau Studio.

I still can't fully watched this video, it hurts seeing her like that. I can't imagine how Akina-san felt. This man is so evil, I hate him. We can't deny that Akina-san is a very strong woman. After all the heartaches and disappointments she experience, she is still here with us and still loves singing. I teared up watching her recent videos from her official RUclips channel. I know she can't read this random comment from her foreign fan but Akina-san we are so glad you are here with us. Getting to discover her music here on RUclips is a blessing for us fans. I'm not sure if the whole series has subtitles, but I enjoyed this one a lot, and think it was her best performance on screen by far.
A bit off topic, but cause I saw him mentioned in the video description, Tatsuro Yamashita cannot speak English. He actually listens to American songs very often so has good pronunciation but cannot speak fluent English.
Now that you mention it, Ive never saw him just speaking. I let myself just assume, good catch!
@@piiman4020 Oh yeah, I read it in a Japanese news article some time ago. I think it is a common misconception in Japan that he can. I've listened to a ton of Kim Hyun Chul to the point I could sing along with it, but that doesn't mean I know how to speak Korean.

It's impressive how much mental strenght and composure Akina had to endure all of this, this is humiliating and disgusting. The music industry, Kondo and the people from her familly that explored her destroyed her mental health, it's a miracle that she managed to survive the attempt and she's still alive nowadays (and even more that she continued to do music afther that before she went on full recovery). It's kinda sad that the most talented people tend to suffer so much...

The song in the background is 赤のエナメル 、 a song she wrote for Akina Nakamori's Crimson album, but it later surfaced as an bonus track for a rerelease of her now mega-famous album Variety.
