Dragline Digging Operator POV

Using a chest cam while digging with the 71-B. This gives an idea of what it is like to sit in the cab while digging. Enjoy :D

This is my first time digging with my grandfathers BE 71-B. Machine: 1951 Bucyrus Erie 71-B 855 Cummins 3.5 Cu. Yd. HS bucket. #dragline #BucyrusErie #71B #855Cummins #OldMachinery #crane
Old manual controls. only a real operator can run them. My first seat was a Bay City with a D315 Cat with a pony motor.
C ok merci beaucoup très contente de vous envoyer un message sur mon compte
Boom angle ? Bro 😂
It’s like 35 degrees in this video. With another bucket we can dig at 30 degrees and be stable as can be.
Beautiful machine.
Solo vecchi Ricordi.
Ewas Farbe das wer gut ewas puzen 😢
Allmost looks like a drop in the bucket with all that lake to dredge!
Good operator
Hello. Where are you?
Chào anh nhiều lắm cũng chia sẻ nhé 👍🙌
Is it normal for the engine to run so slow? It seems like it's struggling at times and would be better if the RPMs were up to develop more power.
The rpm we run at is a good middle ground, yes we could run it faster but the machinery also turns faster which makes it harder to be smooth. It’s also a good rpm for fuel efficiency 10-12 hr days we only burn about 30 gallons.
@@BrownsMechanics OK that makes sense.
Con này đời hơi cổ , bạn chạy hạ cần thấp quá mau hư xe
👍👍👍

Сколько метров стрела? Вес драглайна?
Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Love the life preserver on the back!
Gotta be MSHA compliant lol.
Pity she doesn't have a Jimmy 😔
Used to have a 6-110. Grandpa swapped it for something more economical and quieter.
What motor does she have in her cobber?
D333 Caterpillar
What motor does she have in her cobber?

Nice job...no chain slap...
Giá bán nhiu vậy anh
Where bouts is this location?
Central-eastern Wisconsin
That's got a Cat D17000 V8
Yes it does
very rare machine.Beautiful video
It acts like she is struggling to get over that spoil pile, and it looks like rigging getting close to point sheaves!!
Do you guys have MSHA in your open mine pits?
Yes we do
Thanks for the video of your Bucyrus Erie 51B dragline! Great video of the machinery deck & dragline operating. I'm a fan of Bucyrus Erie & other older dragline cranes.
You’re very welcome! There’s not enough old dragline content on RUclips, so I would like to change that.
She is a beast, great to see it still working. I enjoyed the video and have subscribed
Thank you, I hope to make more content you will find enjoyable.
So was always a pneumatic actuation, or was it converted?
The brakes are retrofitted. It has truck air chambers. The levers I believe are originally air, the raised cab was also retrofitted for this machine.
wow
what year is it I have done a little bit of digger with my 1968 10rb but most the time I ave done crane work with it
It’s a 1959
Never knew that they had air control then
This machine has had a lot of retrofitting throughout the years. At some point I plan to do a walk around video of it.
@@BrownsMechanics ok
OK Bonne boulot
Very cool
I’m back lol if you’re up for it would be cool to hear some explanation of the controls and methodology of what you’re trying to accomplish. I know personally as a truck crane operator i am constantly trying to reach an optimal work flow but each lift is a bit off due to machine limitations or timing. I’m out doing “k-rail” tonight. This type of job is one of the few that come close to duty cycle like what you are doing. Most truck crane jobs have too many variables to compare to dredging
Depth of water?
Digging 50+ feet.
it would also be great to make a movie outside the dragline as it digs to hear how the cummins sings!
That’s a good idea
