What time was the train from munroe to kollam?
Hi the return train from Munroturuttu to Kollam was at 7 p.m. You can check on the app "Where is my Train" for the trai timings. There's a train even at 10 p.m. on this route.
Indian woman should know how to dress in a respectful way when visiting a temple.
Can I plan verkala trip in the month of may?
It will be very hot actually in May. Best months are November to February during which the heat's slightly bearable.
Your video compilation and the way moments were captured is refreshing to watch.
Thank you so much for watching the video and for the appreciation ❤ It really means a lot!
Is there a direct train from varkala to Munro island
Yes. But in the evening.
Which app did u use to track the train
Hey the app is "Where is My Train". Also, there are 2 direct trains I think from Varkala to Munroturuttu (station for Munroe island) but both of them reach around 5 or 6 in the evening, so you won't really get time to do the boating, unless you plan on staying in Munroe overnight.
Which one is better between Munroe and Paravur??
Hello! We only visited Munroe, so I can tell you about that. Paravur I have heard people usually go for mangrove kayaking. Plus, it's closer to Varkala, so if you're short on time, then it might be a good option. Otherwise, I'll recommend you cover Munroe because it's extremely beautiful!
can you please give the canoe boat annas contact information, i am going next week
Sure. Mahendra Uncle: +91-9745239213 for Munroe island boating.
Which one would you suggest munroe island or mangrove forest in parovoor?
Hey, so I didn't visit Paravur mangroves. I've heard you can do kayaking here. As with Munroe, I absolutely loved the boating experience here and can highly recommend the same to anyone visiting Varkala. But Paravur is closer to Varkala so if you're short of time, then this can be an option.
Is it really worth visiting? as we have our trip next week
Hey yes! 100% if you watch the whole video, you'll see this place is very very scenic! We went around a country boat for 2 hours & it was hands, one of my all time favorite travel experiences ❤ I hope you have a lovely trip.
@maptonowhere oh thanks.. then we'll visit for sure..
If you haven’t started watching Malayalam movies yet, you’re missing out on what is arguably India’s finest film industry right now, setting global benchmarks and representing the country on the world stage. Fun fact: if you’ve watched any of the Hindi movies listed below, you’ve technically already seen a Malayalam film! Why? Because these are scene-by-scene remakes of Malayalam originals, just with a Bollywood cast. Here’s the list: - *Drishyam 2 (2022)* - *Muskurahat (1992)* - *Bhagam Bhag* - *Julie (1975)* - *Chup Chup Ke* - *Aap Ki Kasam* - *Tadka (film)* - *Traffic (2016)* - *Amar Deep (1979)* - *Billu Barber* - *The Gambler (1995)* - *Drishyam (2015)* - *Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega* - *Boss (2013)* - *Babu (1985)* - *Operation Romeo* - *Saat Rang Ke Sapne* - *Kushti (film)* - *Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar* - *Balidaan (1985)* - *Hungama 2* - *Forensic (2022)* - *New Delhi (1988)* - *Housefull 2* - *Hera Pheri (2000)* - *Khatta Meetha (2010)* - *Parda Hai Parda* - *Paayal* - *Dybbuk (film)* - *Zameer (2005)* - *Samaj Ko Badal Dalo* - *Short Kut* - *Bhool Bhulaiyaa* - *Kanwarlal* - *Mere Baap Pehle Aap* - *Tulsi (film)* - *The Train (1970)* - *De Dana Dan* - *Teesra Kaun* - *Pyar Hua Chori Chori* - *Hulchul (2004)* - *Yeh Desh* - *Dharm Aur Qanoon* - *Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh* - *Doli Saja Ke Rakhna* - *Heyy Babyy* - *Tahqiqaat* - *Garam Masala (2005)* - *Mili (2022)* - *Patita (1980)* - *Selfiee* - *Anokha Rishta* - *Woh Phir Aayegi* - *Insaaf Main Karoonga* - *Phool Aur Kaante* - *Satyamev Jayate* - *Police Public* - *Yaariyan 2* - *Hatya* - *Shabd (film)* - *Chal Chala Chal* - *Gardish* - *Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal* - *Pyaar Impossible!* So why settle for the copy when you can experience the brilliance of the original? Dive into the world of Malayalam cinema it’s a journey you won’t regret.
Omg! I wasn't aware that so many of them are actually remakes of Malyalam movies. I guess it is time to start watching them! 🤩
Serene 💙
Truly! Munroe island is absolutely serene ❤
Love the video, first video I come across from you. Like most I am searching Varkala bevause I intend to go there... Your video is one of the better, showcasing Varkala, the quality and value, and not just about yourself... Even though your personality comes through very well in this! Wish you did more video's on Varkala.... You covered some of the prices but id like to know the extremities of places, budget to expensive eats etc. I cannot ask for too much, thank you for your video!!! Hope to be there for next new year 🎉
And informative! Not many videos I see share important information... Again appreciate your video 👍
Thank you so much Jordan for leaving such an appreciative comment! You put a smile on my face with your kind words ❤ As with your point of budget vs expensive side - you can get smaller local joints on the streetside where you enjoy a full meal for just ₹100-200 per head. We also ordered food online through Zomato & it was usually around ₹500-600 for 2 of us. Lots of budget options there as the town side has numerous budget eateriers. So, Zomato came in handy. Most of the beachside cafes are on the expensive side as compared to this. Expect to pay around ₹1000-1500 for 2 people (without alchohol). Cafe Trip is Life in South Cliff is the most expensive one that we visited. But these prices are still less, if you ask me. I've been to Goa thrice & the charges at beachside restaurants there is way higher than what I found in Varkala. So, overall, Varkala isn't really that expensive.
Is there train from thiruvananthapuram to munroe island ? ( direct ) ?
@@rakeshjosephite Yes. Direct trains are also there but most likely they reach in the evening. I checked on the app "Where is my train". There are only 2 direct trains & they reach Munroturuttu at 6 or 7 p.m. If you plan on staying on the island, you can take it. Otherwise boating stops after 6 p.m. (our boat uncle was saying that they have license only till 6 in the evening).
@@maptonowhere perfect ! thank you for this in-detailed response. I love the kerala series! Keep going! " IM SUBSCRIBED"
Thank you so much for the support ❤ It really means a lot 🥺🙌
All drivers get commision if the customer they bring buys somethings and go on rides.even the hotel. You eat give them food for free. Its totally your choice to buy or get a ride. What you get for going with those drivers nothing you have to pay either way the same. Looks like you missed aazhimala. Jatayu earth center is in kollam
Yes. I mentioned this in reply to one of the comments. See, this commission system works in many places. I've seen it happen in Kashmir, Agra, Jaipur- pretty much a lot of major tourist spots. But mostly, they get 100-200 or 500 rupees extra or a free meal. But in this Poovar case, the drivers put a lot of pressure to take the boating. And it didn't just happen to me. Many others reported being pressurized in Google maps review. In fact, just this December, one of my friends family went to Kerala & their cab driver literally started arguing with them on why don't want to do boating here. Ultimately you know how much they had to pay? ₹5500 for a 45 mins boatride. Is this even justified (in the name of giving comissions to cab & auto drivers)? And then, in our case, because we refused to pay for boating, this auto driver outright refused to take us back to Trivandrum (the reason we chose to come back by bus after that if you've watched that part in the video). What justifies this behavior towards tourists? No tourist deserves to be forced to buy a product/activity like boating just because the guy who is bringing you has his own benefits of receiving lumpsum commissions. If you were a tourist like us, how would you feel in a situation lke this when your cab driver (and some other locals) constantly try to pressurize you into buying something and then leave you stranded at that place, refuse to take you back 30km to the city just because you chose not to do the booking? Thank God there was a bus stand nearby. This would have easily become a nightmare if it was some place where buses don't run and it's not easy to get cabs.
@maptonowhere Hi i am from Mundro island i am currently settlement in Mumbai. Like i said its your choice. Nobody can tell you what to do in kerala. If someone take advantage of you being a tourist this is India call the cops or as locals for help. You can always ask people for help their wont be any places you will be standard in keralam expect high ranges. See their is a system that will help tourist in kerala use it next time like all tourist place theire are traps for tourists in kerala they wont be bold with everybody. Its really sorry that you had to go through this.
Hey! Please don't say sorry for what these people did. Apart from this one particular case, every other place in Kerala, I felt there was a huge respect towards tourists. We received a lot of love from the locals! Also your Munroe island is really beautiful!! I created a separate video on it which I'll share this weekend ❤
Good one...last Oct I have visited from bangalore... good place
Thank you for appreciating ❣ Hope you had a wonderful trip too back in October 🤩
@@SaraswatijiWhat should I say. You have a gift of turning something like a travel vlog into such a negative space. Not once did I say in the video "Oh look how pretty I am". This was supposed to be a vlog of MY experience in Varkala and I presented it the way I wanted it. You don't get to define what "actual experience" is for 100s of tourists, all of whom have their own travel styles. If it's you can't stand women who want to dress and feel nice on a vacation, sir/madam that is a YOU problem. You may have visited Varkala visited 10 times but Varkala doesn't cater to only you, it brings in 100s of other tourists. So if they wanna take vacation selfies, stop being mean to them just because you hate to see others happy. Good day to you sir/madam.

Only problem with beaches in Kerala is that it is hot and humid.
Omg yes. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find it so hot even in the month of November and December first week.
@@maptonowhere June July rainy season weather will be better but not good to visit the beaches because of the rain. high ranges will be beautiful but risky
The heat is why you need to invest in a hotel with a pool. By the way, try not to litter while visiting Kerala….. If everyone tried harder, not to throw garbage where you please, assuming that someone else will clean it up for you, because you are too good for managing your own waste….then, there would not be so much trash in Varkala. Respect starts with you.

@@bharath4803 Thank you for the feedback ❤ And yes, we visited Munroe islands too. It was absolutely beautiful. I will be sharing it in Episode 4 of the Kerala series.
@maptonowhere 👍👍
As a Trivandrumite i feel very sorry that the auto fellow let you down, you should have put his pic and pic of his auto with number. This kind of behavior tarnishes the name of tourism as a whole. they do not have any power to prevent you from taking the video of the lake. I think you should send a mail to KTDC and complaint against such a person.
See, I wouldn't want to name and shame because honestly, I believe everyone has their right to earn, whichever way they deem fit (in this case through hefty commissions, & I have actually seen it happen in other tourist places like Kashmir, Puri, Udaipur, Agra as well). I just didn't like the fact that he was so fixated on it that he did started forcing us to go for the boating and then refused to bring us back to Trivandrum when we said we didn't want to do boating. And I learnt from my friend who went to Kerala with her family last week that the same thing happened with them too. They had booked a cab from Kochi for their entire trip and then when they came to Trivandrum, the driver took them to Poovar and then started arguing, pressuring them to do the boating. Since they were traveling as a family, they gave in. They had to pay 5.5k for just 1 boat for 45 mins.
Nice video

Yes I understand that. I didn't really mind the fixed stops. In fact like you said & I mentioned in the video as well, due to thefixed stops, the bus took less time to reach the destination.🙌 It was just something new for me. Because in Bengal, if we request the conductor, they usually stop the bus at that point. I visited Kovalam but couldn't cover Azhimala as I was running late for my train. Hopefully will visit on my next visit.
