    Takeaway: While technology and software can allow an infrastructure for scaling a business. If not done with the intention of simplifying processes, it can turn into a costly nightmare and force people to leave out of frustration. With Fast Slow Motion expertise, that problem can be avoided entirely.

    The part on finding fulfillment in your work, definitely requires lots of experimentation and you just don’t know what you don’t know. Even if it’s an area you no longer want to pursue you can still take learnings from it. Such as I briefly pursued a professional finance career with Charles Schwab but decided I didn’t want to do it. However, even to this day it gave me confidence and know how on how investments, stocks, bonds, ETFs work to where I’m implementing it for myself to where my portfolio grew in the last year from $12k to $65k now.

    What’s being said parallels very identically with Nick Saban’s Coaching style “The Leadership Secrets of Nick Saban How Alabama’s Coach Became The Greatest Ever.” Recruiting- Like Fast Slow Motion, Coach Saban would say no to more talented players if they were looking to be put on a pedestal or come for accolades rather than winning championships. Operational Excellence- He would have his team focus on the next play rather than the game. So much so they could be up 54-0 and there only focused on doing their best the next play.

    As Matt said, there will be adversity and there will be challenges in the future. Having adaptability and understanding the purpose of your organization will help you thrive in those challenges. For most organizations with employees whose only purpose is to collect a paycheck, they may leave if it gets tough but if you have purpose-driven A-Players they will find a way to navigate the coming storms. Amazing how many people don’t understand, yet alone implement those two principles in their own lives professionally and personally.

    Systems- “You don’t rise to your expectations, you fall to your standards” it’d be like if Ford made inconsistent Ford F-150’s with varying quality and missing parts. You don’t need an MBA to know that’ll make unhappy customers. Automation- Like Amazon Warehouses, the processes are done by robots/machines the more you can get done. Visibility- Think Elon Musk, 170 million followers and is it a coincidence that Tesla in the U.S has 60% of the EV Market Share, vs. Ford at only 6%? You’re customers can’t buy from you if they don’t know you exist.

    Excellent point about how when data is fragmented and siloed, it can be really hard to make well-informed business decisions. This is a great example of how moving to the cloud and getting on top of data can reduce hassle while empowering a business to scale and grow.
