Feeling empathy for both characters really is a testimony to the script writing and actors here. People forget how much of a psychopath Hannibal is - yes he saved Will at Alana's request but then in season 3 he reminds her of that same bargain and adds he will kill her and her family because she challenged him by being brave (end season 2). Hannibal compartmentalises with no empathy. Will is the true Empath simultaneously attracted and repulsed by Hannibal. This break up scene is necessary Will acknowledging this toxic dynamic. The end of season 3 is perfect - Will gives in only though with the force of righteous violence - Hannibal's purpose was always to consume Will into his darkness. Will's final act is to sacrifice himself and finally kill Hannibal. He exercises free will in the end with the knowledge of good and evil within himself. As Bedelia said Will cannot change who he is fundamentally having compassion even whilst acknowledging his darker side of humanity.

I love this scene too, the emotions, the love, pain, rejection… and it’s moving seeing a character like Hannibal being -let’s say- heartbroken when Will rejects him… but we’re talking about the man who was going to eat Will’s brains from his living skull - even loving him - because that’s how insane he is. Will was right dumping him, but *obviously* he was going to find a way to have his way… Poor Will, but you know, maybe they deserve each other

If Netflix is considering reviving "Lucifer" for Season 7, why can't it do the same for "Hannibal" Season 4? I'm all for "Lucifer" but Does Netflix or HBO MAX, HULU,STARZ,PARAMOUNT even realize how much $Money$ they'd make on Viewership alone. Considering how much they charge, it would be a total windfall for them. And of course All the fans around the world.

I think the most heart breaking part is the chair. You can see that Hannibal pulled a chair close to Will's bed so he can sit right next to him and take care of him. I know it's not the first time but i just realize it was the first time that Hannibal just sit there and didn't do anything. Quietly waited him to wake up. He was there just for him. Something about this scene, like the silence of the morning and heaviness of their heart makes this moment more real. I can say that Hannibal didn't expect Will to accept him but also didn't expect Will's words, too. As Will talked to Bedelia after Hannibal was arrested, he said ''I don't intend Hannibal to be caught a second time.'' Will didn't expect Hannibal got himself arrested. So, i don't think Will just planned all of this like reject Hannibal, put him in a cell and get rid of him. That's not it. While Will was talking, he inhaled and exhaled deeply, talked slowly. I know most of time Will is manipulative toward Hannibal but his eyes and voice was so pure that anyone can understand he really meant what he said. And Hannibal understand that too, that's why he just walked away, thought about someting but gave up. It was a real break up and it makes me cry all the time.

3:08 the silence, I love how the camera stays in Hannibal and we as the audience get to watch him mentally process this, you can see his eyes slowly fall, you can see his heart breaking before he stands up. He didn’t want to stand, I think part of him hoped Will would speak once more… It’s crazy to see a man like Hannibal be at a loss for words. It’s like… doesn’t he run this? Doesn’t he have all the answers?? This time he doesn’t 😢 Literally just like a breakup.

What makes this scene so amazingly well done and brilliantly directed is that, we know deep down, that Will only said that to Hannibal because he wanted him to run away. He was giving him a reason to leave, so he wouldn’t get arrested. You can tell by Will’s voice that he had a really heavy heart. It takes serious skills in acting too, to create a scene like this.

Something that helps me accept hannibal not having season 4 is that season 2 and 3 of hannibal are both 2 parters as they have mid finales and a total shift in tone so reallyyy hannibal has 5 seasons. 7-8 episodes per season. Idk it helps me accept no season 4

I miss this show so badly at times. I miss your dogs too, Will. I miss Dr. Lecter very much. I can talk about this show and the books by Thomas Harris for hours with my nephew. Thank God. Very hard to find someone who admires the elegant psychopath Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Dr. Lecter to Will: "You're not leaving me, bitch."
