This was day 4 of our adventure! We had a 6.7 mile hike from our tent site to Gravel Hut shelter. We got caught in a downpour heading down Mount Marshall and were thankful for our rain gear and umbrellas. The Zpacks Umbrella Holsters worked great! Today was a 4 mile hike from Tom Floyd shelter to an unnamed tent site around mile 965.6. We saw deer and a barred owl hung out in the trees above our site for a few hours. This tent site is not labeled on the FarOut app but is right near a stream and comments on the app mentioned the site. Took the paddle boards from Cunningham Key to Pass-a-Grille Channel in the Shell Key Preserve. Passed through Mangrove tunnels and saw so much wildlife! ‘Big Ben’ is actually the name given to the large Bell in The Elizabeth Tower.

Lots of hunters out, surprisingly they were hunting on the actual Florida trail. Still a great hike!
It is nice to have a break from the rain while using the umbrellas every so often.

Honing in the gear! New packs, tent replacing two hammocks, some clothing changes, all tested during the rainy night and crisp winter temps for Florida. The Z packs triplex worried like a champ! The ULA Spark backpack for the 8 year old was a good change!
