Thank you for your question. The two most important ways to avoid premature wear are to make sure the ballscrew is aligned properly and maintain the system to keep the ballscrew lubricated and clean. The best way to decrease backlash is to preload the ballscrew nut. While this increase in preload force can affect the life expectation of the system, it is the most common method that HIWIN uses to achieve zero backlash. HIWIN recommends running two ballscrew nuts together to distribute the load, but there is no benefit in using a left and right hand screw together. Thank you again..

HIWIN does not stock replacement parts for OEM machines, because the configuration is proprietary. Users should buy replacement parts from the machine manufacturer. There are also ballscrews that have both left-hand and right-hand threads on the same shaft, such as a clamping application. Please let us know if we can help you with your project.

Yes, but proper interface is required. Hiwin linear motor with digital or analog encoders can be driven by Hiwin D1 drive with standard PLC-type (e.g. pulse/direction, PWM, voltage-speed control) or EtherCAT interfaces. For higher precision, closing control loop is necessary. Some system description can help to specify and identify motion axes construction and control system specification.
