One of my favorite love songs. Two things occur to me: 1. For any other band, this would have been their greatest single. For The Beatles, it was just another album track. 2. The sparse arrangement - while I love it - seems rushed. Why wasn't this song given the full ballad treatment, with a score, etc.?

It's very straightforward, only three chords, G - C - Dsus4. "She's a (G) good (C) girl, (C) loves (G) her (Dsus4) mama." That pattern repeats throughout the whole song (at least the way I play it). I play G in the first position (O 2 3 2), C in the second position with open G top string (O 4 3 3), and Dsus4 like this (O 2 2 O). I hope this helps!

i was lucky enough to see mike and micky's final concert of their farewell tour. a few short weeks later mike was gone. i've been a monkees/nesmith fan since the tv show debuted in 1966 so seeing that show was like coming full circle (sky).
