Saw this band 1967 at Fillmore West.

I first heard the AWB in the spring of 1975 - in my freshman year of college. Right after that I moved to Puerto Rico and listened to Pick Up the Pieces while putting up my surf posters on my bedroom wall, I lived right on the beach at the north shore of Isla Verde - It felt like the best summer of my life. Music links memory and emotion. Can you believe this was almost 50 years ago?? The music sounds like it could have come out yesterday. Thanks Guys!

PUTP is my driving song - really loud with the subwoofer kicking it. I don't know what version I have but it's super bassy.

Thanks for the fantastic music. I still often listen to AWB in Mexico. Thank goodness for earbuds. I’ve always wondered why the band softened its sound, so by the time Shine arrived it was more Earth Wind & Fire than JB.

I’ve loved these video clips from Onnie, watched all of the videos from the early days and loved every one. The more I listen, I realise how hugely talented this band is, musically, vocally, their harmonies and the fact that in the main they penned their own tracks. Hugely talented guys from my hometown 🤩♥️🤩

I never will forget buying that album A guy in my high name scat man a amazing drummer say to me have you heard of Steve Ferrone In Average White Band , check him out , Feel no fret was the only one they had at the store I loved it then went Record shopping and found everything out by them , then I went to a concert and I actually was standing in front of them 😊back stage that’s where I met Steve and I could not believe how kind he was . this will make him remember me he even gave us his phone number,

I was 17 when they sang this. I had a LOT of AWB's albums back then...so great to hear at 62 years of age.

I became an instant fan when "Pick Up the Pieces" hit the air waves, and then I was so fortunate to see them live in 1976 when they were out on their "Soul Searchin" tour. So absolutely funky and soulful.

Make that rhythm swing!

Doesn't get ANY BETTER than Alan and Hamish on this track!! Then, to see the rest of the band - Steve Ferrone and the Dundee Horns (Roger Ball and Molly Duncan) in the studio like this is so CLASSIC!!! Played this song and this album all the time BACK in the Day!!
