Great video mate. Currently using a 14ft fireblade gt and not really getting on with it. I've been looking at Zulcron rods for a while now and tempted to take the plunge. A quick question if you don't mind - how do you think this rod would fare with a fixed spool on it?

I’ve had a pair of these since February, fishing Chesil mainly, I absolutely love them! I have cast a whole joey and 7oz lead on them full pendulum it’ll take it… lovely light rods, they can achieve huge distances with light leads too!

A really interesting and informative video. Out of interest how far do you think an overhead thump cast by an average angler with a continental rod would travel with a three hook baited ragworm flapper on a calm day. I know that it’s difficult to generalise like this because there are so many potential variables at play, but just a general rule of thumb view would be interesting.

Very interesting 👍 I am new to beach fishing and have a lot to learn, but the thing that strikes me most is how crap the cool boxes are. Quality bait is a must in any fishing yet the cool boxes are junk. Is there a cool box you can recommend?

Wouldn’t want to thumb fight you fella! You must have a bionic grip on your left thumb, tournament casting a big lead and bait without slipping.

Good way to put it into perspective mate, most people wouldn't be hitting anywhere near that without bait (including myself lol) let alone with bait! You are something else 🚀👊

Good video mate. Did a similar thing a while back but our beaches are crap dont fish them much mostly fish rock marks and access for swinging extremely limited. Hitting around 140yds with a decent overhead thump medium size bait on Sloshes 35lb line. Same bait jumped to 165yd overhead thump on abu 6500 with 18lb line. Going by your video 200yds+ defo achievable for a good caster swinging it, not into a strong headwind mind you

Over 200 yards with baits and 20 lbs line is incredible , Just shows what can be done with years of hard practice .
