Whats inside of a BIG firework sparkler
Of course you can, kno3 3 parts /magnesium 2 parts = 1.3g flash. In europe, many fireworks are 1.3g. In the US, i believe all are 1.4g potas perchlor + allum, which is far weaker.
you running an intake on the turbo or those net covers on the compressor wheel
@@jz-sti I have an intake with a K&N air filter on it. I don’t do the nets since stuff can still get in and I’ve run this setup for years and the blades are not chipped or anything.
Man I wish I could afford that press. So much easier than hand pumping a hydraulic press. So cool.
@@Theactualcurrentsea yeah it is but if you use an arbor press it works pretty good without having to use a pump press. I used an arbor before this press but I don’t use it often because I haven’t been making much rockets but now with the new year coming up I’m going to make more rockets.
why not use rectangular rosin press molds? they are bigger 2x4 inches so you can create more at once
What is the name if the electric press tools .. you are using..?
Just ordered mine. I have another that is 1/2 inch and is made of aluminum.
Hey man what/who is the rocket tool from?
@@shannonmuldrow3118 I get all my tools from woodys rocks website but I’m not sponsored by them but even my press is from there you can also visit pyro creations for the baby tools 1/4 and 5/16 tools and tubes
Don't use dextrin😮
I've heard willow is good. Everybody seems to think balsa is great though it's a bit hard to get for a decent price. Cottonwood is really good and cheap but takes some time in the mill and burns a little dirty. Here's a kicker Everything Black powder has determined that Osage orange makes some extremely good powder despite being super dense so expect really high mill times for that. Other than that your pretty much there. Biggest thing is really going to be mill time, what charcoal, and if it's dry. I also have a tendency to double mill after a first granulation as this helps keep stuff from caking and not getting mixed. Oops almost forgot cottonel toilet (and yes this one specifically) paper is also a really good charcoal and is extremely easy to get ahold of.
@@Slowly_Going_Mad so I actually have been using eastern red cedar pet bedding from Walmart and of course I cook it and all that but that huge bag lasts me a few years and the powder is very fast this video is kinda old but have since started using red cedar vs the willow. I have heard of balsa but haven’t tried it yet.
@E85_STI like I said though the toilet paper one is surprisingly fast. Not quite balsa flash fast but very close. It also has a higher energy content based on bullet velocity. But there is a difference between energy and reactivity. A very reactive BP will flash easy open air but might not be as good for a gun. I think balsa falls in this category. I've never tried cedar. I've tried pine but the tar/pitch left over in the char made the powder too grippy to mill down easily, though I love the sparks it makes in rocket motors.
Lastly screening is fine for pyro uses. Pucked powder will actually slow down. The main reason for making pucks is to cram as much energy in a small space as possible for gun use and to have a standard density so it can be easily measured by volume. Grain is a measure of mass but at a known density you get a known volume to use.
Hey, I'm hoping you can reply to this comment. I'm confused af and it's getting irritating. I have woodys 4oz tooling and I bought his gauge. I bought a hydraulic press to press the rockets. I can't press the rockets past 200psi reading on the step gauge because they start cracking really bad. I have supporter and wax. I know I'm doing something wrong.
@@rodrigogomez5035 are you using the support tool? I bought the support tools even for the 5/8 and 3/4 because once you start pressing past 1,000 psi the tube starts to split because the comp kinda bulges out now if you are pressing smaller rockets like 1/2 with no support I just turn down the pressure all the way it goes as low as 325 or so and it doesn’t split my 5/16 mini rockets which I’ve shown on my channel. Here’s a video I was making something really small with 500 psi no support and it doesn’t split my tubes. ruclips.net/video/X0ZApd9Ep1c/видео.htmlsi=LmUlLqxyN2y6-4PZ
@E85_STI what about when you are using your pressure to force step gauge? I don't have that fancy regulator for my hydraulic press to set my psi. I'm thinking I have to use the surface area of the step plate to read how many lbs my gauge is reading.
@ oh I gotcha so when I use the gauge for my set up I just press the ram rod directly on the gauge to read the pressure and I spin the regulator to set the pressure and that’s the only time I use the gauge though. Does yours pressure to force gauge look like mine? My press even has a pressure gauge on top where the ram rod is but I don’t use that gauge
@E85_STI I get what you are saying. Essentially your spin regulator is factoring in the pressing force of the cylinder. I searched online and found on skylighter a tutorial of using the step gauge. I was supposed to use the pressure gauge cylinder surface area with woodys calculation chart to find the gauge reading on the pressure to force gauge. Now it math's out why I can press up to 230psi without it cracking. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I watched tons of your videos before I decided to start pressing my rockets.
@ yeah mine is straight forward ruclips.net/video/-k42KuaEuAs/видео.htmlsi=Dh4OBNuu5jOZv9T7 In this video is exactly how I set it up then I just press. The calculations in the other video is just for using the support but I don’t press using that paper
What are the dimentions of these tools..?
is it safe to press a rocket using the fuel after all of the naphtha has dried out from it?
How grams weight this batch, or finished smoke device? Probably i will do same as you. I need good long lasting smoke combined with red signal flare. I have all ingredients, just need good will :)
Please tell me what kind of balls and how many of them are in the barrel? And how many hours do you grind them? Do you dry the coal before grinding?
This may or may not work for you, but it's worth a try: I just had this problem with my 2015 Forester. I used a pump to remove all the washer fluid. Then I flushed the reservoir with water and pumped that out. Then I took a hammer handle and banged on the reservoir a few times. Then I refilled with new washer fluid. So far, so good, problem solved.
If you use the smaller ground blooms - they have much more thrust to weight and have more power too take off
can someone tell me how to do this safely firecrackers are expensive and i know decently how flashpowder works i just wanna make sure i dont blow off my hand
@@memeguy240 so I have a video on how I make them but the biggest thing is to make sure you don’t have any static on you so grounding strap it just touch a piece of metal before you start with flash. Use a hole punch to poke a hole for the fuse. You can take smaller crackers apart instead of making fla$h but I just always make my own when I would make it I haven’t made it in years
I want the Stainless have the Aluminum one
@@kluper1157 yeah this one is heavy but very solid and very tight tolerance so it makes really good pucks.

@@ФёдорЗародышев-т2ц so I have a video on how I make my charcoal from scratch and it’s dry because I cook it but the nitrate isn’t granular it’s starting out as float power but the milling process breaks everything down to float powder anyway but my charcoal now is really fast since this video and I found out later that the willow powder may be the issue because I use Easter red cedar per bedding now and it’s way faster.

@@padraigsheridan8316 you can use black powder if you can get the chems those are pretty easy to find the only thing is it’s not as loud but it can still be used as a report. I did try another version of flash on the channel, but I can’t remember how well it worked.
What if you add a super tiny pill filled with flash and a quick match and add as a header?
@@Theactualcurrentsea so I end up doing that in a later video but I do make my own Fla$h I just haven’t in a long time but I saw something online that now they won’t sell the chems in the same order and if you try and source it separately they can find out but if you need it you can take some cracker apart and dump the powder in or do what you said.
Not sure if you’re still posting. But nice video and I like someone attempting to explain the heading weight limits a little as most don’t see that and do assumed the 4oz, 1Lb can carry that weight. Question for you as I’m just starting on rockets this week, did my BP runs/tests and now move on. Are you using the manual method or do you have a press?
@@Theactualcurrentsea so I have a 6 ton fireworks press I use it for the black power and my whistle rockets. If you go through my videos you’ll see the press and I use a press to force gauge and a tube support to keep the tube from splitting. You can use a manual Arbor press which I was using initially and it works well. For BP hand ramming is cost effective and works great still
Hey do you know what the helicopters without wings are called They have a same shape just fatter with side motor hole that spins it around and then a bottom center rocket hole takes the spinning cylinder up into the air and blows up like a regular shell I cant for the life of me figure it out You would never expect it tobe a arial firework/firecracker because it just looks like a fat m80 with rounded ends like a pill but NO wings
Imagine talking about safety/ proper procedures in your video while also sticking a drill bit into an M80 that’s already filled with flash powder… drrrrr. Would it have been so hard to poke the hole first, then insert the fuse and one end cap, THEN fill it up with flash powder? Come on dude. You should really consider removing or editing this video so that people/kids that see this that are inexperienced don’t imitate what you did in this video thinking it’s ok.
A normal M80 has 3 grams of flash powder fyi.
I’m trying to get into making some cool little whistle rockets. This is dope.
Mill it for two days. Not 3 hours

Nice, how long is rhe stick?
Maximum charging AH rating for batteries that small is about 1AH for the smaller 5AH battery and 2AH for the larger 9AH battery. The 10AH charger your showing in use is way too large of a charger & is pretty dangerous to use on such a small battery, The 10AH charger is designed for something like a car battery. With that 10AH rated charger on those batteries, the batteries will overcharge, swell, boil and or overheat. The recommended figure for determining what maximum AH charge rate you can feed a battery is to first determine the actual AH rating of the battery and divide it by 4. So the smaller battery being a 5AH rated battery, dividing it by 4 you would get 1.25.. therefor the safest charge rate for that battery would be a 1.25 amp (1 amp) charger whereas the 9AH battery would safely be charged at (1 or 2 amp) 2.25 amps max. Im sure you have since figured this out, but sharing a tip for others that may watch this video with a similar issue and reading comments. Of course you can always go with a lower AH rated charger that what your calculation comes out to, It will just take a bit longer to charge which is perfectly fine too.
Where you get the brown paper 1/4 tubes? I only come across the red ones. Are those spiral tubes or made like NEPT's?

@@ljames85jr no,problem and I used to start the car at 0530 for work so of course it’s too damn early and I did buy a whole new exhaust with silencer to help but it was too bassy and I didn’t like it so it’s sitting in my garage now but especially during the cold months it took forever to lower the rpm so I only did this for a while until I bought a daily back then. @@ljames85jr exactly and this method works for sure you’ll notice you can’t hear it from 10-20 ft away let alone a neighbor that’s inside so it works it’s just a hassle to do this everyday now I did make a few boxes stuffed with towels and sound deadening squares and those I just placed in front of the exhaust and it does help I just made the opening just big enough to fit the muffler into and it’s much easier but the pool noodles work the best.
Seriously you cannot use a nozzle with 75-15-10 Eastern red cedar charcoal. it will Cato every single time. And you have to wax the tubes as well. Basically black powder with Eastern red cedar has the same forces as high end whistle fuels. Because that black powder is more for lifting shells. You can use it for rockets but it has to be nozzleless. make sure you pack it good and tight and don't bother with a nozzle you should be golden. If you want to use a nozzle and still make 75-15-10 BP it has to be hardwood charcoal. preferably air flow and you do not have to mill it. As long as your powders are decently fine you should have no problems.
@@patman0250 yeah I learned that it’s a little too hot but I did change it to the 60/30/10 and it worked out but for some reason even now when I go back to the 70/15/10 it works fine even with the nozzle but these are NEPT so they have some coating on them already.
