Wet Bandits - ATV ride to Little Cuba
Просмотров 683Месяц назад
Six ATV bandits were on a mission to take over Little Cuba. Mission accomplished. We conquered all the expert/black/hard rated trails in the Coe Hill trail system to get there. We weren’t expecting the early morning challenge when we came across a road block. On the East Road trail there was some recent logging. One section looked like the loggers just ran off for the weekend and left a section...
Understanding the Can Am Rock - hard shifting and grinding gears?
Просмотров 1532 месяца назад
Here is how the Can Am shifter gears work on the Outlander and Renegade. They tend to have a hard time to get into gear sometimes and you have to "rock" the machine to get it in. I took the gearbox apart to show you exacting what is going on. I fixed the grinding high gear and set the shift linkage for perfect shifting. Comment if you have similar problems!

The work week is over and it's time to let loose on the trails! We head out to explore the "forgotten trails". Most of these trails have been overgrown and not used. On this ride we have the Can Am Outlander 1000, Can Am Maverick Sport 1000r and The Legend on the Honda Foreman Rubicon. We bush whacked our way through some thick raspberry bushes only to have to turn around. The Elka suspension g...

Gain Ground Clearance: The Wheel Spacer Effect
Moves pretty nice! Do you have a GPS speedometer?
Yes I do. I forget the exact number. It’s hits 40 mph easily but I don’t think it can past 45. I’ll take it for a rip soon and find out :)
Those old Merc’s just scream badass!
You got that right!
21:30 That was a cool little spot . The ole chainsaw takes a mud bath sitting back there. lol
That’s a wicked spot for sure! And yes I have sunk the saw and all… still starts up when you need it:) Stihl power!
That's why my little 300 is best for that kind of stuff. It's light and nimbo.
I have to agree! Light and nimble is super fun!!
Do you think its accessible by 2wd sport quads
Yes for sure. There is an easier trail in also. On the hard trail I think the bad mud holes have a bypass. Give it a try! Check out some of my other videos to see the trail.
That was an awesome ride.. Should of gotten more views...
Right! That was a fun ride for sure!!
52:16 What an awesome location. I can picture tents setup there all summer long. Not gonna ask what happened to the diesel fella.... lol
It’s such an ATV/SXS gem! Camping galore! Hahah yeah don’t ask… maybe he just loves to get towed! Hopefully it’s nothing, oil light came on. It was low on oil. Cause yet to be determined.
@@OneRide Yeah oil light.. Back on the trails tomorrow... lmao
Right! Top it up and let’s go!
Love that location..
Come and join us!!
31:11 that's crazy... Prime example why people crap all over spacers... lol
Really crazy! The funny part is that we only installed 3 nuts and he rode the rest of the day BUT on our next ride he said “oh I forgot the get the 4th nut!” He still might be riding with 3 nuts. Haha
@@OneRide Drop the bike by the shop and I'll tack weld the studs on for you... ( kidding)
Hahaha Better safe than sorry!
Gotta love exploring those least travelled trails. Never know what you're going to run into. lol
So true! One of the most satisfying parts of ATVing… going where others don’t go.
@@OneRide Amen 👍
As busy as I am, anticipation for the next video has me looking back... the foggy cam a few minutes in is a theme... Maybe try a different helmet and or mount where the camera isn't mounted so close to your mouth...
That seems to be OK although I think it might happen on humid and sticky days?? Oh and BTW, the video is exporting as we speak.
It was better the way it was why did you ruin it?
To each their own, really. I feel like I can play the original one anytime but nobody can play my custom one. I can tell you that the game play is a lot better and more fun on this one. Flat glass and boards make a huge difference. You can set up nice plays.
Little Cuba
Paradise - you know it!
You running wheel spacers ? 😮
Yup! That’s what fell off! Check out the channel for the full video!
@ultimaxbelts
Driving way too fast. Isn't the whole idea to enjoy the trip and nature?
We really enjoyed the trip and the scenery. There’s a time and place for both.
@@OneRide True. I did the VMUTS trails with my Toyota Tacoma in 2021. Stayed two nights in a hotel in Mattawa. Completed all trails with a brand new truck, SUPER FUN!!!
Wow, that sounds like fun! Way to break in the new truck! I have a 4Runner… maybe I should try that!
@@OneRide My 2021 Taco TRD is lifted with a 9500 lb winch and BFG KO2 tires. The permit map show all the routes for an offroad vehicle.
Good to know! Yes lifted is the way to go! Post some pics or your ride in action on OneRide.com, would love to see it!
So sad that I missed this one! The beaver dam to the right of the trail was sketchy!
You would have enjoyed it! Apparently the dam used to be 9’ tall!
😎👍👊🍻
🤘
Would love to see you lift a full size sled. Where do you position the lift rails on the under side of the sleds? I am debating going your route or making as larger platform for the whole sled to sit on
You can make a platform by using bolting plywood to the arms. I was thinking that but it takes away from the look. With just the arms you get a nice view of the skid and track. The front arm goes under some support under the engine. Usually by the an arm on new sleds. And anywhere really under the track. Let me look for old pictures with a full sized heavy sled.
I was able to find one picture with a large Arctic Cat on it. I posted it on OneRide.com. Check it out.
Is there anything about the design you would change if you were to build another one?
I can’t think of anything. It would be the same. Keep in mind your lift height would be restricted by the position of the winch. So you want it as high up as possible.
What winch did you use? Capacity?
It’s just a small winch 660/1320 lbs. Pully the cable back to the winch to achieve the maximum 1320 lbs capacity. Princess Auto/Harbor Freight depending on what country you are in.
Love this design. Thinking of building one. Do you have any more details/ info on the rollers/ bearings you used that ride in the strut? Also have you thought of adding some sort of saftey stop block or something incase the winch was to let go?
I hope you build one, this is the best thing I added to my garage. Search for “1 5/8” unistrut rollers” and you will find different options. Like this… www.amazon.ca/Genuine-Unistrut-P2950-EG-Assembly-UNISTRUT/dp/B00KN9UA0S/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=1C8RD04RJA4KG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.C7yleKgkPJoBgZBHYTLsNPkHZ5K7d6zO-rQ7oXmWtADQctWfqEcIraUWAHd_uQzmutzykHCiTw9vLr-sYkeXA1cFRRm8C7PUtpmq0osW1PpUXpz8xRVimhc_oZnzsrUq3jYHjZ1PwWoQ2ha9KSyKtj51M7WZJutopaaTSBsMzVO2AFrrPhL9YK3cq3oqMfPvGYLvT2YX2gbFBTgZ21Oqfw.8HYwIB00mtT9rKeIvcCh4xbrMRt0c9UI5rgqEaPoXrE&dib_tag=se&keywords=1+5%2F8+unistrut+rollers&qid=1713622631&sprefix=1+5%2F8+unistrut+rollers%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-7
Yes, when I first built it I used a safety stop but I got really comfortable now so I don’t. But I should. There are many easy stops. I used my overhead beam and had a strap to one of the arm. But if you don’t have the overhead beam you can simply drill a hole through the rail, under the roller, and put a strong bolt through it. Or a very simple stop, which I think I will do, is put a piece of wood in the tracks (unistrut) under the arms. It will hold it if the winch fails.
The legend loses his nuts!
The Legend went on a 10 minute search for lost nuts and came back 1 short.
I guess this means we have to ride with a metal detector in our tool kit now!😂
One of my favorites the Rubicon i see Murray has the 2wd disconnect how does he like it ?
The Rubicon is awesome, that’s for sure! He has no complaints with the disconnect. It’s a nice feature to have for sure. I will ask him more about it on our next ride.
The atv oracle gets the legend back into action.... hmm.
Just another day on the trails! 😂
Planning a trip up that way later this summer. Should I ride my Zillas or Big Horns?
I think you would be happy with your Big Horns there. Enjoy your ride!!
@@OneRide thx!
That’s cool. I remember reading that article!
It’s one to remember for sure!
That is a very nice collection of sleds you have there! The lift is super cool ! Twould be great for atv's too. Might have to try that. Thanks for the vid!
That’s right, with some simple mods it could lift an ATV no problem. Helpful for an oil change lol
What’s the weight of your sled?
That one is light. But it can hold a 800lbs Arctic cat.
I would have picked the twister too ....Way more fun to ride...
Very enjoyable to ride! Especially for a 70s sled!
What app are you using if you don't mind me asking ? I'm getting our not riding and want to track some decent trails down to take the wife on. Any recommendations are great to...
For recording my tracks I use an app called “GPS Tracks”. And to see the OFATV trail I use the QuadON app. Hope that helps.
Great vid guys! Where would you recommend staying in Bancroft to be close to the trails ?
You can’t go wrong by staying right in Bancroft or south in Coe Hill. Or even an Air BnB in Gilmour. All ATV friendly roads! We mostly ride south east of Bancroft. If you come let us know!
@@OneRide Thanks :). Will do !
Knocked Down but not OUT!!! Great vid !
You got that right! Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful, but it's gonna need a turbocharger at 12,000'.
lol. The red Blade, parked beside it is boosted… different motor though.
You have to have a licenseplate on a snowmobile? If that aint the government bleeding us dry idk what is
Yes, it’s sort of ridiculous.
Was that blue one running in 2wd a lot? Visco lock isn’t that bad is it? 😂 making me think I should take advantage of the sale my local Polaris dealer has going on right now 😂
😂 blue likes 2wd drive for sure!!
@@OneRide good to know cause I don’t really wanna buy another poolaris 😂
Yup, you don’t want too many Polaris’! Hahaha. I have both and I can get both of them stuck! Regardless of the 4x4. Lol
@@OneRide I had a 570 sportsman I loved never had an issue didn’t ride alot over the 5 years I had it. Want to get another one but thinking 850 outlander this time. We moved to New Brunswick and there’s trails EVERYWHERE, Polaris dealer has a bad reputation near me and I’d like to try something new anyways.
The Sportsman 570 is a very fun machine to ride. I had one also. I still have an ‘03 Sportsman in top shape. You will love the Outlander 850!!
I just picked up one of these, X version. But it has a much longer track... any information on if they came in a longer track version?
Well they had a Summit model which would have a long mountain track on it. If it is a MXZ X I think they are all a short 121” track like this one. I know some people “delete” the beaver tail and extend the tunnel. That makes it look longer… but the track is the same. Enjoy your new ride!!
I believe that the beaver tail delete was done on mine. Thanks for the info!
What chainsaw mount are you using?
Saw Grip. It is the best one for sure… I have tried a couple of them. And if you want it off it’s just 2 bolts. Sawgrip.com is their website.
Great day! We made it to and from the destination. No breakdowns and a great day of fishing!
You got that right!
Insane trial 🤩
You got that right!
you just didnt let the suspension settle enough after. wheel spacers should have no effect on ride height/ ground clearance.
Mmmm. You got me thinking. You might be right. I need to check my offset in my rims. See if they are different than OEM. There might be my issue.
Haven't been on a sled since 95 so it's always weird to see an XLT being called "vintage".
Yeah, I hear yeah!
I’d like to see more trail twister content ..
For sure! I have some other vids already but this summer I will be building a new motor for it. So I’m sure more content will come.
@ 1:23 gettin stuck on the way back, I have many times considered going in with a shovel and removing the belly out center..... But I do wonder how deep that would be after that?
Right… the unknown!
Who was that guy on the blue machine? He really liked shakin the shifter.....
Hahaha! Sometimes you just have to jiggle it! What is that saying? If you jiggle it more than 3 times - that’s playing with yourself?
finally found a RUclipsr atv channel that isn't afraid to hit a mud puddle.did the blue can am guy ever figure out the front diff lock? I don't know if I'd rather be way in front of him or way behind to watch the mayhem.dude is dangerous to be around.
Right on! I don’t think that model actually has a diff lock. Just recently some models have it. Haha the safest place to be is watching on RUclips!
Just send it Rick, you got good shocks 😅😂😅 now that was funny.
Hahaha right!
Am sorry for the disappointment but at least you caught it before something happen, and thank you for sharing also loved those style Merc always wanted one.. have fun and enjoy the event !
Thanks!! And yes I’m glad I caught it. Now to make the Merc even stronger.
Nice! When the Harley is running we need to see a drag race between it and the Twister. Preferably with someone on each machine....Lol!
Yes preferably!! Although the other way would make things interesting.
