Hi! My name is Abner Ramirez. I'm an aspiring video game developer and a big fan of Linear Algebra and Math in general. In this channel I will upload some of the stuff that that I've learned during the coarse of my career so others can benefit or be entertained by my findings.
Raycasting Algorithms Part 1
This is the first video of a series where I will explain what I've learned about raycast algorithms. In this video we will cover the concept of a ray, raycasting and how to calculate the intersection of a Circle/Sphere and a Ray.

Waiting for Part 2
Bro come on this video is fire, don't make us wait forever
Please do make a part 2.
wait for part2😘
Coming into programming and a CS career this has helped so much. I salute you and your contribution 🫡

But how do you detect collisions?
if the term (b²-c) > 0, then there is a collision, i think
try DDA with camera plane-rays. or just intersect objects (triangles/spheres) in the 2d vertical plane-ray traverse order.
very impressive and easy to understand, I would like to know do we still have part 2?
So cool! Just one question... where's the 2nd part??
its cool thumbs up
Doesn't this have to be in 3DIMENSIONAL space? Would the formulas be different?
Anyone still waiting for part 2 in 2024?
This is some 3b1b level content... Where's the rest of it 😢
Part 2????? And he was never seen again!!
the technobabble is high in this one
Plz put more video bro
I don't understand how r is equal the magnitude of x since x starts at s shouldn't it have a larger magnitude?
x is the point of collision between ray and the circle's circumference. x lies on the circumference if there is a collision between ray and the circle.
And he never made part 2… 😔
thanks for saving me any further search, santiago lol
🥲
Ive unlocked internal knowledge
You should post more.
Thank you for the information.
We need another video that explains this video just dumbed down for people like me LOL
Damn I feel stupid. Couldn't understand a thing
really wonderful video! thank you for sharing keep up the great work! subbed :)
I don't understand how I can find cross point of my point and ray. If I already know all the coordinates, then how I can use it?
Good question lol. This is a great video but it just shows Ray-Start and Sphere_center as undefined points and idek if they contain x,y or what it contains T-T
Please continue the series
Please make a part 2!
Thanks!
Is there a part 2 ?
Why did you stop posting, you are the best
The beginning made me think I was watching Evangelion for a second
Great break down of the method.
please continue :)
Loved the video, hope to see more :)
Very underrated video. Hope to see more content from you
Great video, hope to see more!
The animation is cool..
The algorithm is the coolest
