I totally get it - thats awesome! While I passed on it, I have had the chance to use it since making this and I must say, its wonderful and I do get it. Any company making quality gear helps propel and keep alive the photography industry, which is great for professionals and also for the for hobbyists!

Thanks buddy, agree - love the moments frozen in time with a different look from the video! You should give it a shot, would love to see what you get with your setup sometime - its fun mounting the pocket 3 in the camera hot-shoe!

Ah man we should have traded lol, I sold my gr3x (got more than I paid for it 3 years ago :) ) and some lenses I didn't use much

@BMadPhoto dang you sold it? Put a cinebloom highlight defuser filter on it and see the magic. I love their raw files. Granted, it's great for street photography, but if you look at my latest flickr posts, the portraits on it are nuts. Has an awesome pop with RAW editing

Thanks man! I am going to add soon either Sony or Canon TBH, can't see investing more into this system anymore unless there are big changes I don't see coming - the A6700 seems to offer everything that bugs me about this system, including the newer camera bodies from Panasonic and OM. End of an era it seems.

@BMadPhoto I agree. I don't see OM keeping up with their competitors right now. It's probably fair to say they'll surprise us all if they do.

@foto-spective probably the dream new pocket sized 26mp that cam shoot 4k240 will release after I get another brand ;)

Thanks Adam - was fun to make, will try to do some more :) Zooms are great - I recommend if you are getting it for video, try to get one that has a constant aperture! I am thinking about jumping into APS-C with the A6700 for massive improvements to video - do you use Sony primes or another brand?

LOL I had to edit out all the expletives (mostly from me) - almost took out half the team on that ramp to the bridge. Really cool place, agree - all the street art makes me want to get more time there to photograph!

@BMadPhoto It's not a place I'd want to live. Too busy for me. An occasional bike ride to enjoy the art would still be nice. Actually I'd probably rather enjoy it through videos like yours. 😂

Great question! V1 has more power and a much larger battery. So when doing low power flash for macro will last longer.... But it's also much bigger and heavier and further from the lens, but not an issue is using a softbox style diffuser as I used in a latter video. With the 90mm macro, my choice is always the v1 when top mounted. If I am using a trigger and off camera flash I sometimes like to take the smaller one instead as it can be easier to carry. The v1 does come with a nice belt holster though.

Also the V1 supports using it as a constant light also with is nice sometimes especially when I have it offcamera and want to illuminate say mushrooms

Geir not sure if its the same brands in the UK with the EBikes - but mind if I ask which you got and if you would recommend - I am hooked now and can't wait to get one that would be great on crushed limestone rail trails and some on road. Its kind of overwhelming there are so many options!

Yes! 100% I still love my action cams and pocket 3 - but going out with nothing but a camera and lens and still being able to make a video and get great photos I am happy with is soooo freeing :)

@ericlundquist3466 do you also find it hard to compose with the ultra wide view aside from closeups? Auto focus was one reason I got the 9mm, also the weather sealing. But honestly these lens are all so wide, set it to f8 and pretty much everything is in focus if not doing close up lol.

Thanks Geir, it really was - never have been to Alaska or Canada, so quite an experience! Also what you say is exactly how I felt on this cruise! Amazing ports of calls and locations, but so rushed in each location - BTW Skagway would be a macro shooters paradise - so so many mushrooms when walking through the rain forests here - I could spend a lifetime here doing nothing other than wildlife and macro photography!

Yeah I love doing slomo with it - I wish it had 4k 120, but even the 1080p doesn't look too bad in a 4k timeline IMO. Hardest thing is keeping focus, but helps with the 90mm just meet it in manual and use the clutch to focus works great. I am tempted to get a g9ii to get the ability to shoot 4k120 and 1080 240 - but I am going to see what results I can get from the recent AI video software first that can up the framerate. If its halfway decent, can avoid upgrading a bit longer :)

Yeah if into macro and using a flash, its the best 15-25s spend (depending on which size) - I have been using it all summer and its held up great! (I have bought a ton of other trash diffusers that kinda fell apart or were, well, trash)

@@BMadPhoto I tried both. Cygnus is better and a lot more easy to store and quick to mount. Results are the same. Both are good enough. If you add something in the bottom Cygnus is better. AK is not plane, very bad to store in a bag

Thanks, it can be a challenging lens for sure some times - since this video I have used it a bit more and found if I keep the iso up a bit higher as needed to keep it fast I get decent results and can remove noise in post.
