Where do I take the test?? I still don’t know where the actual location is 😞
testing centers will list if they have the ICC testing. You can go to iccsafe.org make an account. From there you can find a testing center close to you. It all depends on where you live. You can also call or look up online places like Kaplan and PearsonVUE contractortrainingcenter.com is also a good resource
What state? There's 50 of them plus terratories. I 'm sure they are not all the same.
IRC is International Code Council. This is a national test. I am in Colorado
Would it make sense to snap your chalk line on the top joists, install osb just shy of the chalk line to sill plate, then stand up walls to visible chalk line?
Also what do you do now? Looks like you skipped the osb step
@@infiniti2015 this is just a short. I have full videos on this on the channel.
yes if you have the room to frame on the floor and stand them up, you can, but in Colorado we have to float our basement framed walls so we have to install a PT 2x on the floor first and then hang the top plate from the joists, so its not always possible to do standard framing. Sometimes we have to run a stick frame strategy
@@BuiltByBaileys Cool. Thanks for responding
I wish I had the skills so I could teach my future kids how to build homes
skills are learned, and you can ALWAYS learn new skills. I am constantly learning new skills, and even in different industries. Go get it! You can do it
What is stopping you from getting the skills? Build a shed. If you build a shed you can build a garage. If you can build a garage you can build a home.
Solid content! I am also taking the test in Colorado and found all this info useful.
9:40 is there any way you can do a follow-up video on paper
Didn't explain bleed back. Some static graphic that isn't even for a bleed back system is worthless.
do you have video on how you fixed this? thanks
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Bro one of the best informative realistic videos I've seen so far Thank you!!!
Im new to ur Chanel im juan contreras and im going to do the test gb2 building residential and i have the book 2024 what Page would you recomend to study for the test
Is the frame or the welds structural? I am wondering how structural the corrugated walls are. If the frame and or welds are not structural then I may go with wood window bucks.
The corrugated walls are not structural components. The c channel beams top and bottom of the containers and end columns are the structural aspects of the containers. They are point loaded. However, the 2x2 column welds for each window are shear components to keep the integrity of the corrugated container walls from flexing. You need this to make sure your openings do not move under shear conditions as they will possibly break windows and doors. There is loading upon the corrugated walls from the weight of the room that is due to shear, so using wood is likely not a solution. Hope that helps
Hello I have the Nascla book to study for the test. It’s works? Please let me know
Thanks for the insight.
I have some questions on a new build I am about to purchase regarding the topic of this video waterproofing and hydrostatic pressure. Is they anyway to talk to someone or the gentleman in the video to have my questions answered?
Awesome video well done. I have a diagonal crack in garage wall with some minor stepping towards the toward the top. Could send you a video to get your thoughts?
What saw did you use?
Really good information!!! Real engineering videos hit differently!!!
Did the clamps come with the magnets or where did you get them I didn't see a link to them thank you
Great Video..
My basement just flooded and it seems like the water came through the floor in addition to 2 cracks in my 8in. foundation wall. I have exterior drain tile and the floor is only 8 ft. Below grade at the deepest part. The back floor is at grade. (Walkout basement). Im close to the water table. Any idea what I can do? I sure hate the thought of an internal drain system. Thanks for any wisdom you can share
Online it says I can only use NASCLAs Contractor Guide. Am I looking in the right place? This is for Tennessee.
ur camera too far away
ok u used your tool to measure
Is the info in the video still relevant?
What’s the dimensions from inside for door frame?
U guys have any notes?
I have a question. There are cracks in the mortar around the blocks in the corner the basement of this house im looking to buy. They had the down spout shooting straight down in that same corner on the outside, for who knows how long. So i believe thats why its crack around the blocks. My question is, Once water is diverted away and sealed, will the basement keep cracking? Or will that stop it and all i need to do is repair cracks and will be good? Thanks for your time!
Dude, this is down the road from me! Was this your project? Literally Im on Pinto Trail!
Sir, you should have started from scratch when you realized you needed a voice over...several minutes of your video included a site shot of the dirt and truck off to the side, if you squint you can maybe visualize the top part of the septic riser, additionally when you showed the static diagram of the septic tank / pump you didn't use a pointer to illuminate what part you were talking about. We are just starting to look into septic systems and you confused us further. Thank you.
This was the simplest way to go about it. I was going to run drywall in the ceiling for the fire blocking before framing but this method seems more efficient. Thanks for the simple video
That’s exactly how I cut mine today! Hahaha first time I cut any of my tools cords in 14years
Single storey house eh. Looking for some foundations for a three or four storey.
On Pearson vue I see 2018 test available. I cannot find 2021 test available. Can you please help
Hi , the link you mentioned under practice test in description box doesn’t have the 2021 bundle . Please suggest where can I find the 2021 prep bundle from the contractor training website. thanks
Michigan is closed book
I am allowed to pull the permit - interestingly, the county requires the home must declare no licensed gc completed the work for the first two years after completion. We plan on living here for at least 10 years- it goes on to say I would have to use an attorney to remove that distinction- so, wondering if I should go through and get a builder's license. I've acted as GC on two major projects (improvements over 200k) from framing to completion- so have pulled permits and passed all inspections on first go-
Looking to buy a home, thanks for showing us what to look out for!
If you get a contractor to get another contractor yoga paying to contractors when in fact you could hire a subcontractor yourself if the contractor you hire has blueprints to look at.
If you get a contractor to get a architect you're losing money
You're making it complicated when a home owner can just go and get an architect design everything and then you have your blueprints and then you can hire any contractor you want the one with the best bid. Or I guess I could pay the contractor to have a conversation with a plumber that has the plans that can say how much you going to charge this person and then just add a little bit for me for my time to talk to the plumber.
And then when you have the blueprints you can get bids from subcontractors that will come and bid on the blueprints
I thought step one would be to hire an architect and get the design and then take that blueprint to the city to have it stamped and approved
How! Just follow the example of your Politicians, especially the Republicans and your Industrialists. LIE! CHEAT! FALSIFY DOCUMENTS! GIVE/TAKE BRIBES! Easy when you have contempt for the American Constitution!

what is the white poofy looking stuff before the studs?
Good info. That intro noise is awful though.
Gawd awful music!
Awesome video. Thank you so much.
