Lego Love Gift Box
It's Valentine's Day!
I might not do Valentine's Day myself, but I *do* do Lego, and I picked up Lego's seasonal "Love Gift Box" gift-with-purchase, set number 40679. As it's seasonal, I thought I'd do another very quick video and get it up on here as soon as I could.

The final part of my build video for Lego set 10281, the bonsai tree. The footage for this build has been sitting on my hard disk since January, but editing it has taken a while; I was really pleased with the footage for the final bag, but a lot less happy with what I'd done for the branches and blossom itself. In other words, I'm telling you now, the best part of this video is the second half....

My big Christmas present to myself this year is one of the 2022 Lego sets that most tempted me; and because I bought it from a Lego shop, in December, they threw in a couple of small Christmas-themed sets for free. A Crochet Capybara (part one)

A few months ago I decided to relearn how to crochet, having not done any since I was a teenager - partly because friends kept sending me interesting patterns that they thought I'd like to crochet! My relearning project is a capybara - the pattern describes it as "amigurumi" but it feels like it's coming out rather big to fall into that class! The Great Orme Tramway

Visiting the Great Orme, just by Llandudno, for the first time, I was a bit surprised just how noisy the cable-hauled tramway is. The trams themselves are pretty quiet; what makes the noise is the sound of the cable running over its pulleys. Naturally you hear that whenever you are near the track, whether there is a tram next to you or not.

I've had the Succulents Kit suggested to me as a relaxing build.
I'm tempted by it, but I have lots of other stuff in the build queue at the moment. I'll pick it up if it shows signs of disappearing from the catalogue.

IMO, the engine looks like Rheneas from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends; similar shape and red paint.
I think you're right, and that's why it looks better with the wheels further apart, because Rheneas (or Dolgoch, the real loco) has wheels spaced pretty widely for a loco of its size

Just to show my total ignorance but what is a capybara?
They're a very large rodent from South America - they look a bit like a rabbit without any ears, but they're the size of a small pig
