Decided it was about time to dust off my Moonstone band and get them back on the table against Simon. We agreed to run a standard 6 a side game with me rocking my Fauns while Simon brought his sneaky Goblins.

Managed to get enough AWI finished now to run a smallish Black Powder game. We used a cut down version of the rules with standard units being 16 models instead of the normal 24 plus we reduced all the ranges and movement by a third. This all made it easier to run the game on a 6 by 4 foot table.

The annual Kings of War Grand Tournament Clash of Kings held in Nottingham in the UK, organised by volunteers and supported by Mantic Games. This year there was 190 players from all over the world competing over the weekend in 6 games of Kings of War. I always like to take an all Mantic miniatures army to this event so this year I decided to bring my Orcs out to play 😉😈.

Time for another Kings of War tournament report and something a bit different. This event was held at Dark Sphere in Shepherd’s Bush in central London. We played 3 games, first a 745pts Ambush game, followed by a 2,255pts game and then we combined the armies to finish with a 3,000pt game. I took Goblins ( well mainly Trolls ☺️) as my Ambush force and Orcs as my main force. #kingsofwar #wargames...

@@warrencann3824 it certainly was great fun and yes there was multiple prizes for painting, the usual best army, best unit and best model which was aimed at the really good painters but they also had special hobby awards (Enamel pins) for us mere mortals, these were handed out by the judges, I didn’t get one but such a nice idea. 🙂.

@@thomaslecomte1570 they are very nice. It was a mixed army event, you had an ambush army for game 1, then a different main army for game 2, then you got to combine the lists together in the final game.

what material do you use for the bases?
@@zweihander0993 I use Vallejo Brown Earth texture as a base, then add assorted tuffs , then finish with 2mm dead grass. All bases are MDF from Warbases, 20mm with 3mm magnets in them and trays. Hope this helps 👍

Is it common and accepted in practice in Kings of War to use models from non-mantic manufacturers? I'm asking because I've found some wargames atlantic lizardmen miniatures I like a lot, and am wondering just how many games I could potentially use them in.
Totally acceptable, it’s one of the real joys of playing Kings, I’ve built many of my armies by finding non Mantic models I really like and using them. I never had any issues playing them at any Kings events even Mantic official ones 🤷♂️👍
