ELDEST Builds
США
Добавлен 4 июл 2019
ELDEST Builds, stuff, things, from models to cafe racer motorcycles to full restorations of cars and trucks. You may thank my good friend DK for all you're about to see. It's not a comedy channel but some of the things I say are hilarious. None of that drama stuff, just building things and sometimes talking about it. It's about the work. I had my first dirt bike at age six. A 1975 Honda XR 75 and have been riding ever since. I was taught how to maintain it properly and that began my interests in tinkering around with engines. I rebuilt the 305 cu in my 1977 Chevrolet Camaro using a Chilton's manual at 15, upgraded to a 355 SBC at 17 and rebuilt it to a 383 stroker with 455 hp at 21. While enlisted in the USMC, I rebuilt a 75 MG Midget, a 76 Toyota FJ, a 77 Porsche 924, and many more. I have grown to enjoy working on cars, trucks and motorcycles. The 1992 Ducati 900SS has been a dream bike for a long time. Having a bike that is over 30 years old and ride like the wind is amazing.

The channel celebrated 5 years on RUclips 04 July. I thought a nice gift was appropriate. I chose this model to fit under the smaller cars I seem to be working on the most. It will fit under the Fiat Spiders, Bertone X-1/9 and the Super Cooper. EldestBuilds/ The Facebook page is up and running.

92 Ducati 900SS, Catastrophic, freak occurrence ends my moto trip
Просмотров 757Месяц назад
The nut that holds on the camshaft pulley fell off during my ride. The pulley backed off and I lost the woodruff key resulting in a single cylinder bike. I haven't dug in yet to see if there is any internal damage. EldestBuilds/ The Facebook page is up and running.
92 Ducati 900SS, Target fixation on the white truck, hard braking to avoid the 20 foot drop off
Просмотров 907Месяц назад
Honest, I wasn't going that fast. I saw this white truck and fixated on it. It's hard braking across 3 lanes of traffic and a gravel median before I get the bike stopped. Oh. and there was this 20 foot drop I didn't want to go down. I made it worse by hurrying out of the way and dipped the tire off the edge of the road. VickAuto full stainless
car looks awesome.. wow did u fix the entire car? u are the best!, u have a great eye for details,
Thanks, yes, I completed the entire restoration.
@@ELDESTBuilds wow amazing! i watch all ur vids.. do u have a new project every few months? Whats your work background? are a Teacher?
@@ELDESTBuilds did u paint it also??
Thanks for watching. 3 projects in the shop at this moment. 41 Chevy Truck Restomod- client- in progress 84 Bertone X19- mine- waiting on machine shop 92 Ducati 900SS-mine- waiting on parts Never a school type teacher but a Dad and held instructor type roles in my past lives. Honestly, I watch those first Fiat videos and cringe a little. The second Fiat videos are much better to me. Check out the community tab for sneak peaks.
@LawrenceWKeck only had to paint a small panel near the muffler. Buffed out the original paint and filled in the rock chips and scratches. Check out the body videos in the Playlist tab.
13:00 i think you needed a bigger paint brush
@@EugenBurlacu paints about 2 cams per minute. The 3 cam version is a waste of money.
Very cool same way here I can generally figure it all Out
It is my super power. Superman can fly, Jesse can build stuff.
@@ELDESTBuilds yes u can! in this country not many can do much of anything mechanical anymore. I like all the work u do. its so clean, neat and OEM looking!
this are the replacement part to avoid those T55 Brake Caliper Pins ACDELCO 18K1014
Thanks buddy
Very nice.. great work.. were u. a Fiat Mechanic at some point in your life? u seem to know how to do everything very well?
Thanks buddy, just a "Jack of all trades". It just makes sense to me, if you know what I mean.
We all screw up sometimes, but you saved it, great job! 2 questions, 1. How are you mounting your phone? 2. What tank bag is that? Thanks!
Glad I didn't scratch it for sure. It is the Ram Mount set up with the ball that fits inside the open end of the handle bar. The bag is a 10 liter from Kriega with the tank converter. I have a 20 and 5 liter as well. They are modular and connect together.
Was that a pterodactyl dinosaur at 0:51? 😁
Almost, a black and yellow mud dauber, Sceliphron caementarium (Drury), they build mud balls and fill them with an eggs.
Where did you buy the seats belt holder?
They are available from most of the vendors. Vickauto.com Midwest-bayless.com
Thank you very much! Super helpful video!
Welcome
U can recoil the stator yourself
Yes, I have not done that
Looks good nice work! Going to be slick looking!

Nice and smooth 👌 😎
Thanks buddy, gonnna use the spot filler and hit it again
Smear some oil on the filters seal next time. It will stick otherwise and be difficult to remove next time you need to take it off. Also put oil in it to get the oil pressure up quicker.
Thanks buddy
Same happend to me
There's a factory recall for the fuel inlet parts.
@@ELDESTBuilds the Bike has been there in 2014 but they could not find anything and now i am replacing it by myself. The part that you need is no longer available only off-market. Thanks AliExpress lol but after i put the tank back in its neutraal position it rins like crap and now i have to fix that again 😵💫
I always hold a shop towel around the base of the funnel to make sure I don’t do that.
Thanks, buddy I will do that next time.

Thanks for the video - I have the same carb. On the opposite side of the carburetor on the base plate there is another screw that looks just like the idle mixture. Do you know what that’s for?
There are so many variations from different makes, models, years, hard to know. This may be helpful www.carburetion.com/diags/3236DGAVDiaginfo.asp
@@ELDESTBuilds I found the model number and was able to find the specific sheet on the Weber site for my carb. On mine the idle mix is separate for each barrel - they’re both idle mix. TY for answering
@AdamAnthonyAdventures excellent news, I kinda thot that, likey on the Holley carbs, but wasn't sure.
Hello, I was analyzed your YT channel and I saw that in your channel have some problems, that's why your channel is not growing. Your videos is not reaching to targeted people, not getting engagement. Do you want to know these problems? If you can give me permission I can tell here, . Where Can I tell? here or email? Looks good man. Love that blue
Thanks, I got them in the booth with sealer and primer, right now.
hey Eldest. Love your vids and particularly your choice of music. Good stuff budroe. By the way I'm a Riv-nut too.
Thanks buddy, those rivet nuts are used everywhere I can find a place to put them. Makes it so much easier to put back together. The bluesman is amazing. I'm fortunate to see him live about every month. Find "Comin Up Muddy " wherever you get your music.
I just brought home my 98 CR, and the studs are rusty and crusty. You mentioned a special tool, what is needed?
Rusty studs are the good kind. The special tool is to apply the correct torque to the nuts. I use this one, hdesausa.com/products/ducati-engine-head-stud-nut-torque-wrench-tool-16-mm-bevel-twin-750-860-900-1000
We want to see the paint going on 😂😂

Very nice 👌

The three videos on installing the convertible top are fabulous! The detail shown and explained are second to none. I commend you for your diligence in not only performing the work, but also filming at the same time. I’ve learned and subsequently applied so much of what you teach in your videos,I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration to those of us who are do-it-yourselfers in our own garages. Thanks again, Bob Froese.
Thanks buddy, I'm glad the videos helpd. DIY in rhe shop is the way I work. Check out the Playlist tab, I organized them by components/ sections. 9 videos for the convertible top in all. Enjoy your build. ruclips.net/p/PLztQ_TJfa0HUwRnw7xLbXobO4S_6wwG_C&si=6p7Sbpxa_NWabW22
What did you end up using to remove the bolt on the drive tensioner pulley bracket from the mower frame?
IIRC the bolt is 15/16 or 23mm same size as the bolts on the blades. I used the cheater bar to break it loose but most of that was from lack of grease. You don't have to remove it just loosen enuff to slip the belt over the pulley.
great video! ur car is super clean and nice.. im doing my front end now too..
Thanks buddy, enjoy your build
Great work however, I feel your pain ,since I owed a Fiat Pininfarina 1973 (back in the 90's ). May I translate your work from English into Spanish at no extra cost.?
I'm happy to collaborate
@@ELDESTBuilds I think the restoration would be a good start!

Hi, this is Joey. I’m re-watching all your videos because I am in the midst of doing my rear brakes and I have a couple of brake lines that I cannot loosen no matter what. I tried PB blaster, penetrating oil and even heat with a torch. This is my question did you buy the premade lines from Vicks or auto Crombie or did you just make your own and flare them with a bubble flare tool? I know the video you made with the front brake line on the passenger side you Custom Lee made it. I’m just wondering if you did that in the rear as well?
If they are stainless they are from the Vickauto.com kit. If they are the green color I bent and flared them. On the 41 Chevy truck I used nickel/copper line, it bends easier and looks cool.
LOOKS FABULOUS SIR! FABULOUS!
Thanks Doc
Thanks for this tutorial. What kind of gasket sealer are you using ? Thanks.
Permatex gasket sealer mostly

Thats not a freak accident! its normal wear and tear. That toothed belt pulley was worn out. all the sharp edges are gone, and the corners are rounded. Its PAST worn out from what I was taught/seen. - retired machinist/rider. Replace all tensioner, drive/driven pulleys, belt related bearings, and a BRAND NEW belt NOW. Dont go halfazz Its not pretty at 10,000rpms as you leave a trail of broken cases and bits tinkling and chiming like lil bells down the road. Its the worst sound right before the rear wheel locks and you skid uncontrollably at warp speed on a locked/skidding rear wheel.
Thanks buddy
Sorry to hear. I know this video will help the 'next guy'.
Will get it sorted out
Excellent advice. Glad you and the bike are unharmed.
Thanks buddy, TBH I haven't even checked it yet. Been busy painting these truck parts.
