Mastering Block Layouts for an Amazing Cityscape in Cities Skylines 1
Today, we'll focus on choosing the right growables for better block layouts using urban planning principles in vanilla Cities Skylines 1. This will help us achieve proper building height gradation and create a more realistic cityscape.
Since I’m not using mods, getting the buildings I want will be a bit challenging. That’s why I had to work offline with hundreds of growables to master their behaviors. However, since this is truly a time-consuming process, I don't plan to continue like this without using mods again.     pedestrian safety is always one of my top priorities so having an unprotected crosswalk like that made cringe even though it's probably totally fine in the game. Just not the best choice IRL

    Actually starting out with a gravel path kind of simulates the road grading process done by the city before paving. Pretty neat honestly. EDIT: Wait what you have a mod that tells the angle of a hillside? Dang what is that mod? TY

    Finally, i found the source of my woes. I have made perfect road hierarchy, but it still linger around 75% So now i have to optimize my industry sector. Speaking of industry, does the Industry DLC building count as RICO demand? I kind of wanted to make rwplace eevry generic industries with it

      An industrial area built using the Industries DLC affects industrial demand. However, in terms of space, the industrial area you create with the DLC will take up more land. So, it’s good to be cautious while making changes.

    2:40 Interesting! So it's the opposite to real life. In reality, the higher level, the more space per person/household. Low income families live in smaller spaces and high income families live in more spacious houses and flats. 🤷‍♂️

    This is awesome! I've struggled and never really managed to get the heights to look right. I'll give some of these techniques a try! I also like the idea of building out the framework and then coming back to it block by block and organizing it at a higher level of detail.
