On the lowes 100 dollar toilets put the tank to bowl gasket on the bowl first then line the tank up trust me u are gonna hate urself if u do it this way

Hi, I have the 2RSO2 Glacier Bay toilet/tank. I initially had a leak coming from a very rusted bolt. Replaced the bolts and the tank gasket using the Glacier Bay specific gasket. Thought issue was resolved but now I have more water leaking than before! No leakage coming from the bolts and the gasket is flush with the bottom of the tank, but somehow the leak is coming the from gasket area causing water to leak to the front of the tank. Do you have any suggestions? Do you think it's just a matter of tightening the bolts more?

I have replaced the flush valve the fill valve all screws/bolts water line, and the gasket under the tank. I am still getting a leak and don't know why. After I fill the tank with water I do not feel any leaks anywhere yet the water in the tank slowly leaks out. What am I missing?

I just had to reinstall my bolts because I used a metal washer between the bolt and rubber washer inside the tank and it leaked.

Fluidmaster master is junk, they do not have a way to communicate to their mega corporation that their product is total junk. Just try to find out who owns the company today (2023)... Mega corporation that doesn't give a rats behind about what they produce or how it works in reality. It is simple dimple to install and last for about 6 months if your lucky. At least they have a 5 year warranty that nobody seems to collect. If you waste your time installing this product keep the email letter you send to them handy because you will be replacing it again soon. They do make it easy to get the replacement, too bad you have to wait for them to send it to you.

Thank you. I just fixed mine. Only thing I did different was not getting rid of the old cap that held the hose, since that thing seemed glued to the plastic. It works, no leaks.

Thanks. Fluidmaster doesn't make the manuals available, so if your plumber turned your 3.5 gallon per flush tank into a 1 gallon tank you need this to know how to adjust the tank water level.

I don't get the adjustment part at all - the screw adjustment yes, but the other adjustment you did with the ring, I did not follow at all.

I just bought 4 of them off of Ebay. I guess im a pro plumber.

I know this is 9yrs ago but they forgot the most important part… clean the toilet first. It’s dirty.

Anyone can buy the pro version valve any plumbing supply will sell it to you and you should buy it because compared to consumer version 400a or ah it holds high water pressure 120+ psi wich most homes have now days and is what usually causes them to fail along with sediment another thing buy a whole house sediment filter costs around 500 and will save all the rubber seals in all your plumbing fixtures they will last 20+ years sediment and dirt kills fixtures and valves along with high pressure solve those two problems you will have no plumbing issues in your home for many years to come. Pro Plumber and im here for the people !!!!!!!

a plumber said I can add a light smear of Vaseline between ceramic and rubber gasket as further protection against folding/bunching of gasket and further seal of joint.

Looks like the valve is not connected to a water supply I don't think have any water leaks

I really like your videos!! Ok, so "until the toilet becomes sturdy". Does that also mean that there should be absolutely No (slight) wiggle of the tank?

I put nuts on the bottom of the tank and it lifted the tank so the tank to bowl gasket doesn't seal right. I'll fix right away. That nut between the tank and bowl is my leaking problem.

Hello from Toronto, Canada! Had a noisy toilet that was just annoying, and purchased this very valve. Thanks to your video, I was easily able to do the replacement/install from my old valve to new valve. Additional tip to those of you reading these comments: Have a small bucket beneath the tank for when you pull out the old valve (luckily thought of this before starting haha)!

Hey I hope you reply fairly quick but I installed this exact model and on the very bottom where the locking ring is just below is there water supposed to be shooting out of it, as well as the 1/2 in tube

Can't you use a ratchet and socket instead of a crescent wrench?

What do you think the problem is if you have done all that you mentioned and the left bolt is leaking.

I have an American Standard toilet I went to put the tank back on and the bolt holes aren't lining up perfectly causing the toilet to rock a little bit and make the bolts almost bend. Can I drill out the toilet holes to line up the bolts better? Thanks

Okay, my tank to bowl kit has 2 washers, 2 nuts, and 2 rubber seals. Where does the second rubber seal go? Does it go under the tank washer, or does it go under the bowl washer? I have watched over a dozen DIY How-To videos today on electrical and plumbing, and I have yet to see one that is done by someone who appears to thoroughly know what they're doing. It appears that he didn't install at least 1 metal washer and 1 rubber washer. I would have never installed and tightened nut to china without the included metal or metal and rubber washer, or leave a rubber gasket out, but this guy did. I just don't get it.

Got a kit from a Menards and put it in. Had to cut the tank bolts with a hacksaw blade. Brass bolts so it only took 10 or 15 minutes. Removed the base too and gave it a good cleaning. Watched a few videos for tips and to double check if I did it right. Not that big of a job. Put on new feed line and valve . New wax ring. No leaks.

When I flush the toilet water leaks through my bolts .

I know this is a old video but could you tell me where to get the kind of washer your using with the bolts? All the kits I can find have flat washers, but my current setup is using the kind of bolts and washers you use in the video. I can’t find them anywhere. I want the washer that’s flat but also has the part that goes through the tank holes. Just like the ones in the video. Thanks

A real craftsman seldom uses a Crescent wrench. Use a box or open end wrench or, if you're really slick and do this plumbing work all the time, you'll have a little 1/2 or 9/16 speed wrench that makes tightening up tank nuts a snap.

Hardly ever is a reservoir replaced in such optimal conditions. Usually, the old niuts and bolts are corroded as one.

I'd have thrown myself down that plughole to get that plumber attention
