Curly deserved better to be honest. He was literally the definition of "Too good for your own good". He saw hope in everyone, so much so that it blinded him from reality, which led to everyone's downfall.

this seems nice, an opportunity given to Curly to tell the story but personally, i dont think its a good ending for him. The trauma from tuplar, the pain, suffering and regret will never leave him till his last breath. He had already suffered enough, just hope he can finally rest in peace in the pod, with no more suffering and responsibilities and may Jimbo rest in pain.

Imagine he never got rescued. Despite the suffering, The pain, The blood, the dead bodies in the ship, lost in space, maybe forever, Stuck, depressed, sad knowing he had sworn to protect the crew but failed. Despite all that. He is still unable to end it all as he has no limbs
