DJI mini 2/Hover Air X1/Drone only adventure: cycling in and around downtown San Antonio!

Usually when I get drone footage for a video I will probably use anywhere from 5 seconds up maybe a minute and the rest I delete. I recently did a ride in downtown San Antonio and the surrounding area and had a lot of footage. So instead of deleting it, I decided to put a video together of just the drone footage of the ride. And here it is! A casual relaxing ride through San Antonio. Thanks for...
2024 Tour de Boerne/Riding 62 miles on the back roads of the beautiful Texas Hill Country!
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 месяца назад
Well the 2024 Tour de Boerne was a success! Even though my training leading up to the ride wasn't the best! It was a good ride, but it didn't come without some suffering! That's okay though. You learn more and grow from the things that are hard and challenge you physically and mentally than something that's easy! We finished the ride, albeit slow, but a finish none the less. Climbing hills/Getting my legs ready for 4000 ft. of El. gain/Issues with my bikes drive train!

I got together with my friend Alex and did a ride that would focus on hill climbs! The Tour de Boerne changed up the route this year( which is cool), but with the change. There's a little more elevation gain than the previous years of the ride. The problem is I started having issues with my gears climbing the hills! The bad thing is, I have to take my bike to the shop and get the problem fixed!...

I'm finally back on the bike for the first time in 2024! I needed to get back out and ride for a couple of reasons. 1. I signed up for the 63 mile course of the Tour de Boerne and 2. I've been having issues again with my foot, so I needed to test it out on the bike to see how it felt pedaling! I had to back off from running as frustrating as it is because I've reinjured my foot!! I stumbled on your channel. I have enjoyed your transparency and honesty. We are almost neighbors. I live in Fredericksburg. We seem like we have similar goals. I'm 67 ex-college basketball player. Weighing in at about 225 trying to get down to about 190. I'm starting some training for masters track. I'm also an indoor rowing coach. Love to hook up sometime for a ride or run 😊 Also, have a pretty good home gym. Thanks again for your encouragement!

      Appreciate it my friend! I love the Fredericksburg area! I definitely would like to do a ride up there sometime. And I've been wanting to get up to Enchanted Rock and do a hike as well! Looks like you're staying pretty active. I have no doubt you'll reach your goal! I'm hoping to get up that way this fall. If so, a ride is definitely in order!

    Remember what this lifestyle does darlin. It heals! The scales are not the whole story here. The reasons you are not seeing the scales change might be because of inflammation and the body trying to heal. It could also mean that you are losing fat but gaining muscle. It is lovely to see the scales come down. I get it. I am a Carnivore too. But the nature of this lifestyle, is, essentially, an elimination diet and weight loss is the lovely side effect. There is so much going on in your body. Give it time and keep going. Stay the course. Don't stray and you will get the benefits <3

    • @fitnessandthings
      @fitnessandthings 2 месяца назад

      Yes I've definitely felt the effects of eating an antiinflammatory diet for sure! I was hoping the weight loss would be more significant especially the first month or so like I've seen with other people. I do go to the gym 4 days a week and lift and I did feel like I had some slight power gains when lifting. Right now I'm doing more of a ketovore diet where I allow a minimal amount of carbs, but still avoiding sugar at all costs! I know in the long game it's the best thing for me and I'll definitely keep grinding on!!!

    Are you eating enough, though? Also, how are your clothes fitting? How are you feeling? Everyone responds diff. Sometimes, it's measurements that change or you overall feel better. I know when I did it pretty strict my arthritis/inflammation in shoulder drastically decreased.

    • @fitnessandthings
      @fitnessandthings 2 месяца назад

      I've definitely felt the effects of eating an anti-inflammatory diet. I don't take measurements, but my clothes fit about the same as they did before. I may be eating to much and the calories I'm taking in are higher than they should be. I'm gonna start training for a half marathon here pretty soon with my daughters and I believe those calories will benefit me on the training runs.

    Curious to what your pan is coated with. Is it reg teflon or ceramic? If ceramic, which brand please?

    • @fitnessandthings
      @fitnessandthings 2 месяца назад

      Yes, it is a ceramic 12 inch skillet/frying pan and the brand is Blue Diamond. I bought it about a year or so ago from Walmart. I'm pretty pleased with it. It's also dishwasher safe and can be used in the oven up to 600 degrees.

    The only problem is you used all the cheap ingredients the wrong eggs don't use the white ones spend two more dollars and get the brown ones hello? Turn the salt you use the cheapest salt available that's bleached and very unhealthy you need to get the sea salt at least! Appreciate the video but I would get better ingredients it done really cost you that much more!

    • @fitnessandthings
      @fitnessandthings 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching my video I appreciate it. Normally when I buy eggs I will get the brown one's, but on that particular occasion when I went to the store they were out so I bought what was available. But when it comes down to it the color of the eggshell doesn't make any difference in the nutritional value of the egg. Different breeds of chickens produce different colored eggs. I've had chickens in the past and they produced a variety of colors. The salt I was using was indeed sea salt from Costco. I just pour the salt into the smaller salt shaker. I hope this cleared up any confusion. Once again I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video.

      As someone who raises chickens, there really no difference in taste between white, brown, blue, yellow, speckled, and etc eggs. The real difference in taste comes from what the hen has been eating.

    Great job , Kenny ! Awesome video . I wanted to do this ride . But unfortunately couldn’t do it this year . A lot folks from the RGV participated and loved it . All positive reviews on the route and how organized the ride is . Hopefully next year . I do want to ride Conquer the Coast . Will you be riding in that one ? 🚴🏼✌️

      Thank you brother! I appreciate it! I'm glad everyone who came up from the RGV enjoyed the ride! Hope to see you out there next year! My plan this year is to do Cyclefest out in Fort Davis in West Texas. Unfortunately it's on the same weekend in September as Conquer the Coast. Now I haven't fully committed to it yet because I haven't been able to get a place to stay yet. Waiting to hear back from a couple of places on availability for that weekend. If I can't get a place to stay, then I'll probably do CTC again.

    • @fitnessandthings
      @fitnessandthings 2 месяца назад

      That is interesting. I haven't heard of using cottage cheese in the recipe. I'll have to try that. The first time I made it I baked it for 20 minutes and it burned some. So when I made it for the video I adjusted the time to 18 minutes. Which turned out better.
