How long was the actual flight? Times say 1 hour 20, but you mentioned 40 minutes?

Great video. Cannot say that these trains are a better replacement to the Class 319 because the seats are rock hard and legroom on most seats seems tight. The only thing good about the Class 700 is they have air-con and that is about it. The Class 319's didn't have air-con but were comfortable and they had a nice sound to them as well. I hope one Class 319 gets preserved by someone like LSL Trains like the Pacer is. Its an important piece of railway history that transformed rail travel between Bedford and Brighton.

£3.50????? LNWR gave a ticket only worth 3.50 I bought mine for 35.90 (using a railcard i had)

Their high window sills don't help visibility, what's the apparent reason for this? The olden days had these basics properly understood (certainly in the 1950's/60's slam door stock)

Are you sure they're replacing the 450s? I thought they were only replacing the 455s and 458s

Looks like these units are a massive step down in quality, compared to the class 310 & 312 slammers, which they replaced!

for me LNER makes me feel a bit claustrophobic as when I go on them there are people EVERYWHERE. Even in the toilets!!

It’s so nice to see the new Class 701 Arterio in service which South Western Railway should introduce more of them on other routes throughout the rest of 2024. They do look very nice.

I’m hoping that the Class 807 will also enter service very soon. But at least the Class 805 are very nice.

You Have Seen 2 Class 730 Aventras Standing.

Maybe April food? If not no offense but this video is ridiculous! The guy clearly has no idea what Rush Hour looks like on one of these services and even today Saturday at 3 p.m. it was so busy everybody was standing and we're packing like sardines. There isn't any room for tables there isn't any room for any of this stuff that he's asking for I'm you don't even need a toilet because the line isn't that long you can go from one side to the other and less than an hour. There are uSB sockets to charge your phone in some places on these trains and while they're not the most comfortable they are air conditioned they are reliable and they get you to where you need to be which is ultimately the goal of a train as at the end of the day we are not going to Glasgow most of us are just going to be going to Central London and be spending about 20 minutes on this thing at a time.

Good to see you posting again! Totally agree your thoughts on the Northern 195s, the ride quality is appalling and we only get a 2-car unit on Nottingham-Leeds that's invariably overcrowded.

DO THEY still have the microwaved cheeseburgers???

Very good video Daniel. Avanti and Lumo have both went and improved the IET quality and decreased the hate of them. They're more comfortable and nicer to travel on than on the GWR and LNER IET's.

Since when did anyone say the class 450s were going?! I haven’t see anything or anyone else saying they would go.

Would you travel with CrossCountry again? My wife and I are thinking about taking a trip to Cardiff, then Birmingham, from Newcastle, but the only thing putting us off is the fact that we would have to take CrossCountry. We have a had a few trips over the past 18 months, the vast majority of which have been on LNER trains and our experience with them has been fantastic .. booking easy, seat selection easy, fares reasonable, timing .. spot on. We don't want Country to be so bad as to ruin our trip

Direct trains run from Clapham junction to Southampton at 12 minutes past the hour the Weymouth service

Great video Daniel. The 701's even though they're late are a small improvement from the old 455's. Yes they're uncomfortable with ironing boards and no carpets. Even though I like them I don't like how they're replacing the 450's in the future as they're clearly better.
