Nice work John!
Thanks so much!
Fabulous. Thank you.
Tom, the great intel is so wonderfully complemented by the personal banter. You and Ted are helping me along in opening my repair business. Thank you.
Good luck, always be learning!
or you can use wago's , the transparent ones with orange Clip is small and nice to stack
That is a sweet looking and sounding guitar.
hi! are there any books on this that anybody recomends? 🤘
Cheer~~~a liquid made of shellac dissolved in alcohol, or of synthetic substances, that dries to form a hard protective coating for wood, metal, etc.😊
Awesome thanks!
Thanks for plan , I have one question, As the side plates of zig are inclined ( as if guitar head stock ) , but the splines seems as straight, how it's possible. If router is following the curved surface, so splines also have round inside, please guide. So I can also build this
Thanks for the vid. Would you use this for playing bass guitar ?
Yes, I have one at my bench and run basses through it regularly.
@@ThomasMuseGuitars thanks !
Refrets with binding are such a pain. Worth it. But still a pain lol
Is the point of melting solder onto the fret to make the glue unstick? You can’t use a torch or you’d burn the neck so that’s kinda the only way you could do that it seems.
Adding material to get a grip on it, but i bet the heat helps.
@@chrisdavis5967 I thought that too but then it looks like she’s grabbing below the solder every time.
@@Simple5.0The frets are really flat so the solder creates a higher ledge so to get a grip under the fret.
What's with the solder? It's that so you can get enough grip to pull the fret out?
The solder transfers the heat from the iron faster and more evenly.
well that was interesting to watch! hope you are doing well John!👋🏻☺️
Ready for the fretless conversion?
Indeed!
Never fretted a guitar yet i just do my own setups haven't had to get this involved yet ,is this to send heat into the fret to soften the glue ,wood for easy removal and you don't have compromise the binding. Is this correct 🤔
Unlike Blackstar, there doesn't seem to be any transistors.
Beautiful guitar! Wow, very cool ESP logo
Love Pink Moon
@ThomasMuseGuitars Keep playin' my friend! God blessed us with a gift of music! Also consider in doing demos of acoustic guitars that arrive at your home! Would be amazing to see you demo future acoustic guitars! You're in D standard tuning. same tuning R.E.O. speedwagon used for the song, "time for me to fly". keep rockin' and god bless!
It would be awesome to see some painting videos. I get that it would be a pain to film. Excellent sounding guitar!
Yes this is Barry again I was watching your video again and you said you could send the plan solid form would that be like through the mail if so I have a post office box 2316 in Chesterton Indiana 46304 if I need to pay the shipping I'll pay the shipping or whatever it costs but I would really appreciate some plans you've got great details on your plans you're talking about I would love to have a copy of them plans please thank you so much
Berry, there is a link to the drawings in the description.
Great idea, thanks for the tip !
Ibanez PS-10 made in August 1995
The horror of really small surface mounted components. A real negative for repairs and mods. Glad I went with the VHT Special 6. (6V6 tube) A Gorgeous hand wired thick Eyelet board and easy mod/repair large normal caps and resistors. In a combo with a long extension boost switch. A tough little 10" spkr handles anything. Plus a 4 ohm, 8 ohm, 16 ohm ext jack.
I just got one of these. Great video.
Great video. Is this an all laminate guitar?
How did you remove the plastic bushing?
In pieces. I used a small file to cut through the bushing, then pealed it out with an exacto blade and a pair of needle nose pliers. It is tenacious stuff!
This short is way underrated. This helped me avoid spending $40 on a tool that I would use once, maybe twice a year. Thank you!!
I'd like plans please?
Link in the description.
Hey there, is this a guitar modell that is on sale?
Sold out, Michael. There is one at Timeless Guitars in Cleveland, Ohio USA
Gold frets?
EVO gold. They add a bit of titanium to the mix; gives them more durability and the unique color.
This was a fantastic video. Here with a question, I’m trying to use this same concept on a 30” baritone guitar. How drastic of a degree change would this be, or would it stay the same?
What are your thoughts on Western Cedar as a guitar body. Thinking of using cedar on a semihollow build. Very tight grain old growth.
I had good results with new wood, your old growth should be tremendous.
That’s very cool!
Beautiful
Uhh why don’t you just cast separate inlays out of that and just insert them
And add another step to the process?
@@ThomasMuseGuitars yeah it’s not like you’re gonna be rushing this process
Thanks for this video. I was just looking at this bit at my local wood supplier. Its a nice looking, robust router bit. Enjoyed seeing it in action. Amana has good stuff.
Good job. I subscribed the channel. Cheers.
So simple on a black painted neck .The Bosch plunge router attachment makes setting depth of cut easier on my jig .
How do you make this? do you have any video on how to build this?
That's some hard living
Magical
Brilliant !
That wood looks familiar..🤔
Hey! What exactly did you use to secure the template to the body (Without causing damage to the paint)? Some version of 3M Command tape, maybe?
It is a thin gasket material with 3m adhesive on both sides. It is a drop, or throw-away, from a project we do at my day job. It works well in most instances, but it has a thickness of about .04", or a little more than 1/2 a mil.
Thanks for the idea and video. I acquired an old Fender Custom Shop Strat body and plan to do the same thing.
nice view of the shop at the end!!i just want to make more guitars!!
Thank you for the video . I used your method to put a 9.5 radius neck onto a 12 in neck slot. clamps and 2 strings for line up. Thank you.
I want to buy some P90s but I couldnt figure out how they stay in place lol. Thanks for the video
Hey I appreciate you showing how you did that cuz I'm on here looking to see if I can find anybody else and how they do it and I ain't seen nothing
