Most day riders as they have 0 bags or support truck with the group?
@@TonyaPetero yes we had a support truck that carried all of our camping gear, etc. Made for much easier riding with these small bikes not having to carry all that weight.
Hey, thanks for the education pal. All da best from UK 🇬🇧 🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧
@@paulcoverdale8312 your welcome I hope it helped
How much extra gas did you pack bring with you on the dualsports
@@martygjr we each carried an extra gallon either in roto packs or gas bottles
Love that your group isn't all 20k big adventure bikes... list the bikes that went and the rider, age.......show us all you do not have to be factory supported bikes and riders .......love the video.
@@walkerfamilyoverlandingpho4826 thanks!
Beautiful scenery. Do you still have the super tenere?
Yup closing in on 100,000 miles. Riding from Florida home to Massachusetts next week. Need to ride through Georgia and S. Carolina then will have ridden that bike in 48 states.
I'm currently riding a 2014 kawasaki concours with 123k miles on it and have been looking at the super tenere or bmw gsa.
@@mikescott9213 go with the Super T and use the money you save to travel on it…
@billpacheco790 I've been looking at used bwm's, even low mileage 1200's . I like the bigger fuel tank and the extra hp never hurts.
where is the dam on section 2? Great video. Chase truck is nice to have. How are you getting those DS's home?
If you look for Burnt Corral campground on the Salt River the dirt road takes you right by it. It is the Theodore Roosevelt Dam on Rte 88.
Do you have gpx?
Yes that is what we used
Can you share?
@@bajalorian you can download them for free from the BDR website site
@@billpacheco790 thanks bro
@@billpacheco790 When will they do this route again? I live near bisbee
Great job on this video. Good quality captures and kept my interest through the entire video. Great scenery.
Thanks! They are a lot of work to make but fun to watch …
We had fires over here in Northwest AZ too and they kept the fire roads closed a lot longer than most of us thought it should. The reason is the road and forest repair vehicles need the roads open for their work. It is what it is.
Ahh that makes sense…thanks!
@@billpacheco790 FWIW, the fire roads were a lot nicer, smoother, and wider when they did finally get done.
Thanks for the comparison!
Very easy to follow and helpful. Thanks. Glad I watched it first otherwise I'd be running to the store to get things!
Great - I’m glad it helped…
Great video Bill. We're headed there this May ourselves. Thanks for the pointers on checking on the section routes being open or not. Glad everyone was safe and had a great time. Ride safe guys!!!
Have a good time and make some great memories…ride safe!
I just replaced my spark plugs and air filter at 38k miles. First time they have ever been out. Plugs were 10mm gap which is barely out of spec. Air filter was dirty but ok. I was still getting 48mpg. I have been to Tuk on it in 2018 and the Arctic Ocean, Alaska, etc. It’s a 2014 year model btw. Love the Super T.
Wow you are a true rider! Where is Tuc??? I just hit 85K on mine still going strong….
What size tanks are you guys running? I just purchased a 2021 Husqvarna fe350s and it still has the stock tank and I was thinking about getting the 3gal tank because the 4 gallon seems a it much since I won’t be doing super long runs all the time and I could always bring more. But id love to do the AZBDR someday, looks like you fellas had a great time!
I upgraded to the Acerbis 3 gallon tank and also carry a gallon roto pack. The AZBDR was a great route you should definitely give it a go if you can.
@@billpacheco790 nice! Ya I was thinking about getting a 3gal tank and then bring a 1 or 2 gal gas bladder just because they’re easier to travel with when empty. Thanks for the response! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Very excited to do this route September 1st 2023 on CT 125’s! Excellent commentary and video which will be helpful in planning. Thank you all very much
Have fun!
Thanks for sharing.
No problem. I hope it helped…
Looks like you guys had a blast, Bill!
Yup another great time with he boys!
I went through maybe a week or so before you going the other way. Stayed at the same place in Lone Pine and had to bypass all the Death Valley stuff due to the road closures.
It was definitely a challenging route with the cold and the snow.
I went through a couple days after your group. Nicely done.
Hey Bill, thanks for the video; really great. I bunch of us are planning the AZBDR in May, I consider myself somewhat a beginner off-road and I ride a GS; do you think this is doable for someone like me?
Great video, I felt compelled to subscribe - didn't like seeing the 666 number up there. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. We have a group doing the MABDR in May 2023 and appreciate the recon. cheers,
Thanks! I just hit that number yesterday and it was driving my crazy. May is a great time to do it. Be safe and have fun.
@highway17adv98 are you possibly looking for another rider to join your group??.. I am also planning to do the MABDR in May and prefer not to ride it solo if possible.. lmk thanks!

Are those Phillips heads or JIS heads ?
JIS but my Phillips head screwdriver works fine…
@@billpacheco790 I though after all those years, that Japanese motorcycles aimed for EU and USA would have a EU/USA standard screws. But nothing changed as i see..
Wonderful vid, Lake Maggiore and Como special places. Must have been a great trip.
Yes. Four years ago need to get back!
Great video guys super awesome. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for watching!
Hi Bill, Great video - how did you get your bikes out?
We had shipped them using Shipbikes- approximately $650a bike at the time.
Excellent video! Thank you, sir!
Thanks!
What bikes did you have ? How many miles of tar did you do ? Which would be best bike for this ? 500 ktm ? 700 tener - 800 bmw ? If we motel it could you do 2 sections in a day ?
If you watch my video on the MABDR we go over all the bikes - used the same ones for the AZBDR. I don’t know how many tar miles, we used the Butler map to follow the route, it was mostly on the dirt. We like to use smaller bikes, but I think you could use any adventure bike or dual sport. Two sections a day would be ambitious in my opinion.
We also used the GPS tracks provided by the BDR guys. Would be harder to follow the route just using the map.
Hey Bill thanks for posting another great video. Would love it if there was an equipment review with bikes and bags to take us through some bad/good/better/best product solutions. Love to hear about bike selection pluses and minuses too. Beautiful ride scenes mate. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching. Those are great ideas!
Thanks for a super-fun video. The videography was really well done. I know this is a stretch, but do you remember how far into Section 3 the big water crossing(s) happened? Were they as gnarly as the internet makes them out to be? Thanks again.
Thanks for watching. I don’t remember how far into the section they were, but you can tell from the video that they were not that deep. That was in May- no idea what they are like at other times…
Great video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching…
good thing I do is buy rubber grease apply to the coil packs while removed helps water ingress and makes removal easy next time :-)
Yeah I do that now too based upon a subscribers suggestion. Thanks!
Bill, my buddy and I are getting ready to do the MABDR in November from south to north. Great job on this video! This was the most entertaining video on the MABDR I have seen yet! Subscribed!
Thanks! You will have a great time. If this is your first BDR you will start looking at others after this trip!
Great Video...heading to Alaska in a couple of weeks, doing a tour with MotoQuest. Going to some of the same towns you talked about and listed in the comments. Was already excited about going - even more so now. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching. You will have a great time!
Hey Bill.... Just finished up the last video in the series. Great trip videos and Thanks Ann!!
Haha Ann says “your welcome!”
The best video on this topic that I have seen very inforamitive thank you so much
Thanks for watching!
Nice video, Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
The camping links are where? Thanks!!
Lee you need to watch the video, I say at the end of each day where we were camping. Thanks for watching and sorry I didn’t include the links in a better format.
Bill Great coverage. You guys are running out of BDR’s. What’s next on the list? It’s been so much fun watching all of them!
Working on doing the Idaho run next year God willing. Thanks for watching!
Bill, your videos are amongst the best when it comes to BDR youtube videos. I'm glad I found this channel. I just completed the MABDR and your MABDR video was a great resource. Not only informative, but very entertaining. NEBDR is next for me.
Thanks Joseph! NEBDR is awesome. Lots of technical riding to test your skills. Have fun!
Hey Bill another great Video!!! GO Rusty!!!!
Thanks for watching. Love that old guy!
I have enjoyed watching all of your BDR videos, Bill. I haven't been on one yet, but I intend to next year. I'm in Ohio so I'll try the MABDR first. I've been on two rides so far this year, and I'll be going to Hatfield and McCoy for a second time next week. I have been taking my XR400 on these rides. It is street legal. Do you think I would be making a mistake to ride my XR650L on the BDR's or should I stick to the XR400? I know there are guys riding the BDR's on 500+ lbs adventure bikes, but I won't do that. I'm a dual sport guy. Overall, the trails don't look too technical in the videos, but action cam footage can be very deceiving. I rode a small part of the Kentucky Adventure Trail last year on the 650L, and it was a handful on the tight single track sections with all the mud, rocks, and ruts. It was a dream on the double track sections though. Your input would be appreciated.
You can ride the 650 on the MABDR. Most areas are fairly wide open gravel roads. There are some more technical areas on a few of the sections but that bike will handle them. If you decide to do the NEBDR, I would recommend the smaller bike. Be safe and have fun. Thanks for watching the videos!
Another BDR in the Books for you guys. Really enjoy your videos.
Wow. RUclips Hasn’t even finished updating the HD version yet! Thanks for watching…
Heading to Alaska for my first trip in August to ride, now I'm really excited! Thanks the video was awesome!
Thanks Ellen! Talkeetna was our favorite town. Make sure to stop there if you can. Have fun and be safe…
Hey another great video, did I spy a license plate from Maine??
Yes my son Josh lives in South Berwick…
Nice, I live up in Old Orchard Beach. Thanks for the reply!
Great Video!!!
Thanks for watching!
Once again, fantastic job Bill.
Thanks Jared! Full AZBDR video coming soon…
Great to see you back! Looking forward to more.
Thanks Greg! Full AZBDR video coming soon.
Thanks for the video! It is awesome!! Those views are incredible. I am hesitant to do the trip on my Vstrom650 and wanted a larger cc maybe Honda Africa Twin 1100, maybe you can tell me if the dl650 is good enough?
The Vstrom worked really well for the trip. You will mostly be riding secondary roads so no need for high speeds and you will want to enjoy the scenery. Also the Vstrom has plenty of carrying capacity. Don’t wait go!
Great video! But, man you guys hit the Shit weather!!!! It's not often we get a cold front that comes through on the CABDR that lingers as long as it did last December.
Thanks Ron it is an honor to have you comment on my video!
Great overview of the route, thanks. I know that area well and you were brave to give it a try in December!
Thanks Rob. Never again haha
