I would highly recommend the Finest Punta Cana! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of activities to get into, or you can just relax by the beach. If you are talking about Sosúa DR, it looks like it is pretty far from Punta Cana. It says 6 hours by bus, so definitely not around the block.

No one spoke to me about the drone, or told me to stop flying it. Granted, I flew it early in the morning when it was not crowded. But I did see a staff member walk by, and he paid me no mind.

I went at the end of May. The weather was lovely all week! I got lucky that it didn't rain once. And I didn't have any trouble with mosquitos. Hurricanes are often detected well in advance, so you should have no trouble planning around it, or selecting another destination if hurricanes are forecasted in August.

I don't think I can answer your AO specific questions and I actually can't recall if I stayed on the AO side or the Family side 😅 Either way, there's lots of music and entertainment at night. My favorite was a Michael Jackson impersonator concert we had one night, but there was also a night of salsa dancing and socializing that was pretty cool. My understanding is that the AO side has no problem crossing over to the family side, but you'll have to fact check me on that. I hope that helps a little! I highly recommend this place! Great food and service, and whether you're looking for entertaining nights, or cozy evenings, I'm sure it has what something for you!

Thank you! No jacuzzi in my room, but I got the smallest and cheapest room that the resort offered, so I'm glad with all that it came with! I'm sure there are jacuzzis in some of the larger rooms 😊

Yes, I'd definitely say it is good for solo travelers. I love to travel solo, and I felt safe walking around the resort at day and night. There's lots of activities like boating, snorkeling and excursions. And of course, plenty of beach if you just want to lie around on the sand, or chairs.

Yes! I still use this backpack today as my every day bag! Perfect for my laptop, headphones, and a quick change of clothes, or sweater. I really love it ^_^

There's a bit of seaweed and sargassum on the beach. You will notice it. But they have construction trucks daily that clear away the seaweed. I really didn't mind it, and for the most part, the beach is kept clear since it is picked up daily. But I won't lie and say that you won't see it. I hope that helps! Enjoy your stay!

The food is great! Sadly, I didn't try all 13 restaurants, but the ones I did try had excellent food. My only complaint is that the food might be a little Americanized, but perhaps that's to be expected on a resort, and that may not be a complaint at all to others. The restaurants I did eat at was, The Melting Pot, The Market Kitchen, Duke's Lobster and Seafood, and Las Dunas Beach House. Of those, Las Dunas is probably my favorite, since I had an amazing, authentic Haitian style beef stew there. It was sooo good! But Las Dunas is a buffet, so the foods there may change daily. The app will tell you what's going on on the resort, like what entertainment is happening that night, and where. It also gives the hours of the restaurants, because not all the restaurants are open every day. It was super useful! I know you're going to love your vacation! Makes me so happy that you enjoy my vlogs! 🥰

Oh! I ate at La Cocinata Food Truck as well! They had really great empanadas! ^_^

@@avlax1781 I didn't have to reserve for any of the restaurants I went to. I just walked in! But, it's possible there may be some upper scale restaurants that require a reservation.

The food was great. I tended to go for the more authentic foods since a lot of the food on the resort tends to be Americanized, like burgers and pizza. I liked Las Dunas Beach House. It's a buffet, and they had this really awesome Hatian style beef stew. Soo Good! I also liked The Melting Pot and Duke's. But probably my favorite restaurant was Castaway's which was a little walk away from the resort since it's a normal restaurant, not tied into the resort. I had a really flavorful Salmon and Gnocchi dish, with a creamy sauce. It was so good! Are you heading down there soon? If so, be sure to check those restaurants out!

I like to tip generously. I was told to bring lots of low amount bills, like 1s and 5s for tipping since the DR is very tip friendly. So for things like bringing me a drink on the beach, I usually tip like 1 or 2 dollars. And I'd give 3 or so dollars to the waiters, or a 5 for those helping me out with a specific activity, like when I rode on the sail boat. I also tipped $20 for the $170 massage I had, and I left $20 in the room for house keeping on my last day there. But I've often noticed that I'm the only one tipping, so it may not be a big deal if you don't tip as often. I hope that helps! Thanks for the watch! Yeah, and that burger was pretty funny, but I returned to Castaway's later that week, and had a delicious Salmon and Gnocchi dish was absolute heaven, so I certainly wouldn't rule it out! Have fun!

I didn't call attention to it since technically, he's not allowed to hang out with guests, but I knew someone would put it together eventually. Yeah, it was nice to have him look out for me. I didn't experience any noise while in the room, except for music from the entertainment outside which could go on until midnight. But it wasn't too loud and I could sleep through it. But I guess that depends on the individual. As far as construction, the only thing I saw was that they would sometimes have a bulldozer on the beach to pick up seaweed. It was pretty noisy while it was there, but I guess that's the price to pay for seaweed free shores 😅 The truck is not there all the time though, so it's not too much of a disturbance.

Yes! I 100% would recommend! The property is pretty big, with nice restaurants and all the rooms are fancy! The beach is not far at all. Once you walk through the courtyard where the pools and restaurants are, you'll find the beach is right at your fingertips. Warm water and soft sand 💕

@@katya19781 I think that's up to the individual. I did not have a Finest Club upgrade, and I enjoyed my stay just fine. Better than fine! I didn't find that the beach was too crowded. If I ever wanted to lay under the provided beach beds with the hay umbrella, there was always a spot, so I don't know if the access to the private beach area is necessary, but maybe that depends on the time of year. I found the staff to be polite and kind and took care of everything I needed. Some other Finest Club perks include flowers and / or a treat (like fruit or a dessert) in your room when you check in, and every day of your stay. As well as an upgraded mini bar, upgraded room service menu, shoe shining service, and a beach bag to use during your stay. If you value things like that, then the Finest Club may be good for you. But personally, I don't need all the extra things. I'm not much of a drinker, there are plenty of restaurants to make up for the limited room service menu (which is still extensive enough), and I did not find the resort too crowded, so I don't think the private beach or private lounge would have particularly given me better or more relaxing experience. I hope this helps in your decision! You'll have a blast either way!

When my friends ordered drinks or food, they often accepted it without giving a tip, and there didn't seem to be any awkwardness, or expectation for a tip. Actually, I usually have to call the servers back to give them tips. And even the boat instructor in this video, I told him to wait until I got my stuff so that I could give him a tip. So maybe I just love to tip :D So my tipping guide would be 2 or 3 dollars for drinks and food, 5 dollars for excursions, and I tipped $20 for the guy who gave me a massage (since the massage was $170), and I also left $20 in my room for housekeeping when I checked out. At the time I was there, to convert pesos to US currency, you'd have to divide the pesos by 54. So I ended up paying about $122 US dollars. It's always fluctuating, but if you Google it, it gives roughly the same amount. Don't worry, I wasn't swindled 😏❤

@@seelifeinhd7895 Ahhh, I didn't realize that there were different variations. I was looking at the Mexican peso didn't realize the conversion was different depending on the country, in this case the Dominican peso. Thought a peso was a peso where ever. I learned something today lol
