Let's Play Mirror's Edge | Chapter 10: The Shard | Finale | Rescue | Miller | Kate | Ending
Why are some of the people you're talking to invisible?
I honestly don't know. Some kind of a bug that places them under the ground. Could be the Transparent Windows mod that I'm using, but I haven't tested it out yet to confirm it yet. Could also be Persistent Dungeons.
@@GrimfangsTV I wonder if it'll make someone important impossible to find. Do those mods come with commentary that might let people know about the bugs?
@@thethegreenmachine It's happened to me before. I don't think the mod pages come with that warning either. But if you know where they're typically supposed to be, you can look at the ground in their usual location and interact with them just fine. This is also probably exacerbated by the fact that cities are built on a higher level. I've had this bug in dungeons as well, but all it does is make the enemies shorter than you over there. Then again, it could be a DFU thing because I remember another person's post on Reddit where his contact was half stuck through the roof of the establishment.
Man, just wish they make another ME. Miss this series. Faith is way better then Key Vess 😅
Seriously. They made all this wonderful lore and they could've really capitalised on it all. If only they made more ME titles. So many questions unanswered. I would actually like to see a few spinoffs as well, set in OMNISTAT and Sabaeus.
You rock fellow Daggerfall Lover!!
You too, fellow Daggerfall lover!
🔥
The bug with the clipping walls inside the temple is a slight conflict with the transparent windows mod. It doesn't affect gameplay in the least, it's just annoying to look at.
AH! So that's what causes it! I thought it's because I'm teleporting to a location indoors and the game is trying to render things that are on the exterior as well as the things that are in the interior, causing a bug where the engine can't decide which one takes precedence and renders them both alternatively. It would make sense for the transparent windows mod to cause it. Game teleports you inside, but the mod causes things on the outside to get rendered as well so that you can admire the view from your windows.
I did the Azimuthal Vectors quest once and it was quite good. That skeleton dungeon you ended up with was intensely hard though. You can do the quest again another time, I guess.
That's the plan. Daggerfall is unfairly difficult at the beginning and Unity's damage scaling makes it even more so. Better to take what you can get, grind, and level up to a comfortable place, and then take questing seriously. I'm fairly certain that I'll be getting the same quest again sometime down the line as a part of the Mages' Guild. It seemed like a pretty nice questline as well! Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Nice 🙂
If only I was strong enough to not have to abandon this quest.
@@GrimfangsTV I know the feeling 😭
Back in the day, graveyard grinding was a thing lol
Funnily enough, I've never had to do this while playing through the original DOS Version. The increase to difficulty in combat in DFU has been the culprit in forcing my hand.
Nice! Tales of legends!!
Hope you enjoy your time with Daggerfall! The mod list may be a little outdated, but hopefully there aren’t any broken mods 🙏🏻
Thank you! Unity seems much more difficult than the DOS version, but I think the QOL changes plus the enhancements and restored content courtesy of your suggested mods make a massive difference. Among the mods I downloaded, Quest Pack 2 is currently unavailable, but the rest of the mods work really well for the most part. A sincere thanks for making a comprehensive list AND a spreadsheet complete with links to make life easier and the game more fun for all of us!
Sorry for the audio drift. Titanfall 2 is notorious for it when using Shadowplay and I typically catch it. Just didn't check closely enough this time.
Richter has that "Get to tha Choppa" energy.
Hound Dog is supposed to be a co op mission to be played online with friends. Its not a normal campaign mission.
No wonder it doesn't show up on the single-player campaign. I often wonder how this game would play with a team of people cooperating towards the end goal instead of the AI companions who are worse than the terrorists we're fighting.
@@GrimfangsTV Indeed! When I unlocked it I found that its a co op mission that you could play by hosting as a server, which is good because its a very difficult mission to complete by yourself as you could just respawn when you die. By the way, do you know about the secret enemy base in the quick mission named Front Runner?
@@AnthonyEvelyn When I died, I had to start all the way from the beginning. But that's probably because I was playing it in the Single Player mode. And no, I have no idea about the secret enemy base in Front Runner that you're talking about. I'm assuming you're not talking about the base where we rescue the truck drivers. This game is full of little surprises and easter eggs.
@@GrimfangsTV Yes DF2 is such a great game with a lot of surprises. In Front Runner complete the mission but do not close the game. In a few minutes 3 BRDMs will approach the extraction point and surround the trucks but they wont shoot you. You can head due south of the extraction point or trace where the BRDMs came from and you will find the secret base. But stay a distance when you reach it because there are alert enemy shooters and a active BRDM there. I wish I remembered the base map location coordinate but I forget. Thanks for your DF2 videos I enjoy them!
@@AnthonyEvelyn Now that sounds like an adventure. I suppose if one knows the location, they can even assault the base ahead of rescuing the drivers and take two birds out with one stone. Don't know if that is the proper procedure though since High Command never authorised that task for us. But then again, we are doing our jobs by eliminating militia resources.
What mods are you using for First Person mode and the different coloured NVGs/interface?
I'm using Jackal's Stealth Shooter mod for Chaos Theory. www.moddb.com/mods/stealth-shooter-mod-chaos-theory They actually released separate mods for all games in the original trilogy. Makes the view first person, but it's sort of bugged in Chaos Theory where the screen starts jerking back and forth in tight spaces as you can see. The mod also tightens your weapon's spray as well as the enemies' and lets you walk faster with your gun drawn. As for the coloured NVGs and interfaces, it's just colour correction during editing. 😅 However, you can change the colours of Sam's Lights using Thirteen AG's widescreen patch: thirteenag.github.io/wfp#splintercell It only changes the colours of Sam's Lights and nothing more though. The interface and NVGs will still appear the same.
Just watched the playlist. Very fun gameplay. 👌🏻 Hope you do more with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. 💁🏻♀️
I think I'm done with the game. Ghosted it: ruclips.net/p/PLZ3JlOnlkBYlNvNkfm1ZU19P1IV7TZRwP Interrogated (almost) everybody: ruclips.net/p/PLZ3JlOnlkBYnLOL9t7ph_ZPsoJCn4zPRt And you just watched the Tactical Assault playthrough. Don't know what else I can do with it. If you have any ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks for watching! Hope you had fun!
@@GrimfangsTV True. I just started watching the Interrogation playthrough. You did a lot. But it's a shame. This game is so fun. 💁🏻♀️ My only idea would be a "knockout everybody" playthrough. I used to do that with my friends when we used to play co-op on ps2. 😂 Problem is that it's very similar to the Interrogation playthrough you just did. 🤷🏻♀️
Exactly my concern with that style. I was thinking a Panther style playthrough would look cool with all the different kill animations in this game, but that's too close to the melee from the Field Interrogator playthrough as well. The one thing I truly want to cover (and experience to be frank, since I've never done it before) is the co-op mode. But I need to find a partner who's not only into Splinter Cell but also one who can synchronise timings with me for that. I'm still stuck with the former problem. :,)
@@GrimfangsTV Well, I'd watch it anyway. I really do like this game a lot. 😂 I'd like to help with the Co-op gameplay if I could, but I think that'll be almost impossible. 😅 But if you get a co-op gameplay partner, try the co-op on PC/Xbox one. It's the best one. 💁🏻♀️ Also, if you are tired of SC;CT, try it on ps2. It's really different and a bit weird once you know the main version from memory. 💁🏻♀️
Oh yeah, I remember playing it back in the day and wondering why it looks so different. It's something, that's for sure. Maybe I'll try playing that for a change. Thanks for the suggestion!
Fisher is the O G
19:55 - ok, that was weird XD
Yeah, I've been seeing that popping up a lot. My hypothesis is that when two bodies collide in-game and are not being restrained by any animation, they'll both fall like in this instance. It occurs quite often on slopes.
How does bro get first person
There's a "Stealth Shooter" Mod for all Splinter Cell titles from the original Splinter Cell all the way to Chaos Theory and they're all available on ModDB. It also makes your weapon's spread tighter and eliminates sway and makes you move faster while moving with your gun drawn. The same applies to the enemies as well, though. Link to Jackal's Stealth Shooter Mod for Chaos Theory: www.moddb.com/mods/stealth-shooter-mod-chaos-theory Link to all of Jackal's Splinter Cell Stealth Shooter Mods: www.moddb.com/company/jackal
I’m the only one here
Must be pretty lonely, yeah?
Major thanks to @IbikeN-f6w for helping me out with the previous mission and moreover, even marking the objectives on a map! It was because of them that I was able to complete the previous mission and continue playing this game.
And how do you get new colored night vision goggles
ThirteenAG's Widescreen Patch has the options to change the colour of your lights and goggles in the .ini file provided. For the colour of the NVG overlay itself, I merely Hue Shifted the colours while editing. Felt like the colour of the NVG should match the colour of the goggles. Link to ThirteenAG's Widescreen fix for SC:CT: thirteenag.github.io/wfp#scct
I’m the only one that commented
Congrats! You get a digital medal for coming in first!
Can you do resedent evil if you like that game?
I do wish to cover that series as well. However, I do not own any copies for now. I'll acquire and cover them in the future.
I also played this as a kid, its like your playing all my fav childhood games 😂
I'm honestly starting with what's familiar to me and what has always been on my list of games to play and cover. I'm just finding myself drawn to older titles in the process while occasionally oscillating towards the newer ones. That being said, my device is also quite underpowered compared to modern standards, so the older titles are friendlier to my potato.
This level is so different, the creepy jail sounds, the crazy guard, this is the most intriguing part of the game in my opinion
Yeah, they really switched up the vibe for this level. Honestly reminds me of outlast especially with Doctor Johannson who likes experimenting on his patients.
@@GrimfangsTV Let us say outlast took some inspiration
Lets gooo 🎉🎉🎉
I've been replaying this on my Series X, and it's just incredible 🥰 Peak nostalgia lol
It can't be overstated how much this game just blew people's minds on its release. The lighting was groundbreaking stuff. It still looks and plays incredible to this day 😮
This game honestly leveraged the Unreal Engine's lighting capabilities unlike any other game ever could. It's a pity that when UE3 released, they followed the trend of making games bright and sparkly just to show off their graphics capabilities and Splinter Cell suffered because of it. But this game had some of the most meticulously made textures and animations that still look beautiful to this day. I personally love how Sam reacts to the environment and starts getting ready for action every time there is an enemy nearby. Then there are the different walking animations for all the walking speeds. It's difficult to find a game so meticulously crafted nowadays.
Apologies for the crappy voiceover. My headphones died and I should have a replacement soon.
where is the other episode? I like your content, and you voice is relaxing to listen to
Thank you! It's slotted for release today in less than three hours. The entire series is still in the works, and I'll try to upload episodes every alternate day. However, my headphones stopped working, so I must apologise for the deterioration of audio quality when it comes to the commentary. I should have a workaround for it soon.
@@GrimfangsTV thank you so much for the clear update!
That scaler, ugh. Shame you played the game as is.
You'd be surprised to find that there's actually a niche that enjoys the pixellated graphics from these retro games so much that some modern games even try to emulate the look!
@@GrimfangsTV But you are missing that look, that's my point. Judging by the text it's the default scaler from Steam version that makes everything too smooth. I just played both Arena and Daggerfall changing it to normal3x for the pixelated look you describe. And you might want to replay those games on DOSBox Staging, it makes them even closer to how they looked and felt originally (and it works way smoother).
@@Demetrius900000 Yes, the default scaler, I do believe is hq3x. I wonder if the normal 3x shader makes the pixellation sharper. That might add some amount of detail to the graphics. Oh well, I'm already done with the DOS version at this point since my next playthroughs are going to be on the Unity Remake. But I'll keep your suggestion in mind and rely on DOSBox Staging for when I play Battlespire and Reguard and other DOS Games from the era. In the end, though, graphics mean no more to me than the aesthetics in a game and I'm not too bothered by the finer details unless the game uses the graphics in a pretty unique or otherwise unconventional way. Strange though, that Bethesda actually configured Daggerfall to run on hq3x if the normal 3x shader was better.
@@GrimfangsTV Yup. To use Staging just delete everything from DOSBox 073 folder except config files and put Staging files from zip into it. Let me know what do you think :) And you can put cycles to max, it will work fine. Oh and Redguard doesn't work in Staging, if you play GOG version it's good as is, if Steam - look up a guide to change it to 3dfx (it need another DOSBox, Daum). I've asked on Staging forum, maybe they will help with that, I'll write here. And good luck on the journey, nice to see someone else playing old TES games right now too =)
@@Demetrius900000 Thank you! You've been extra helpful! Yeah, I started the journey after seeing how open-ended Skyrim is and getting dragged into the depths of the Elder Scrolls lore. And honestly, these games are pretty amazing despite how old they are. More or less timeless classics. It's probably gonna take ages with all that I've planned, but I'm certain that whoever plays all of the TES series will never consider their time playing the games ever wasted.
Love your splinter cell videos 😀👍
Thank you! I love playing them equally!
Only 13 views in 3 days? You fell off bro 😂
On the contrary, this is the fastest-growing video I have! Thanks for boosting it with a view and a comment!
nice game :D
Glad you like it!
oh man this is nostalgic
Practically what drove me to play this game. And given everything, I feel it was ages ahead of its time.
Since I forgot to mention it in the video, NBC = Nuclear, Biological, Chemical. In civilian speak, they don't know what's in it. They just know that it can be used as a weapon.
this game always amused me at how ridiculous the enemy death sounds are, I extracted them from the game for a laugh once in a while
I don't know mate. Something about gurgling on your blood while you're dying sounds pretty realistic to me.
I loved this game back in the day. I probably still have it somewhere.
I fondly remember playing the demo as a child as well. Wanted to try out the whole thing once I grew up.
Amazing gaming!
Wish I could take the complement, but this was honestly just a trip to meet a business partner.
@@GrimfangsTV Well i discovered today this game after a video (in italian) that says about the lady to not wait after a month to talk to her... At least many videogames have many epic details!
@@GabrieleTheMan Well, you can not talk to her and it won't really change anything about the game. It's just that players who are playing the game for the first time won't know what to do without her aid. The plots in this game are quite open-ended to be honest. It has its moments. If you want to, you can watch the ending premiering right now. Unless you don't want to spoil the game for yourself. Try Daggerfall out! It's a pretty good game!

This was the game as originally released by the developers. Unity version has a lot of improvements and changes that the original did not have. Next playthrough will be in the Unity version.
Mod seems like its well made!
It's more of an official DLC, to be honest. It's called Duke Nukem's Bulletstorm Tour and is available on Steam. There should even be a dedicated Switch version called Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition. Comes complete with different cutscene animations and voice lines.

Ah, you were talking about Ash from Army of Darkness and how he has references all over other media. My apologies, I couldn't quite understand what you were saying the first time around. Yes, I do know of some of the other franchises from your list, but I haven't consumed 'Army of Darkness' yet. I'll check it out and be on the lookout for references.
THIS GAME WAS AWESOME
27 years after its release, it is still one of the most magical experiences that I have ever engaged in.
Promo-SM
im not going to not support you but also i dont desrespect you but this game realy sucks sorry but if you get hurt
Honestly, it has aged poorly considering modern Mil-Sims like ARMA and others of the kind. This doesn't really play like a Mil-Sim should either. But to its credit, this is the first most popular Mil-Sim ever. That said, I agree that it sucks by today's standards. No feelings hurt, I'm only playing this because I remember playing Delta Force 2 as a child and wanted to check the franchise out.
