Reviewing Mehar PUNJABI CHOLE #foodreview #indianfood
Dan and I bought a long-life vacuum sealed Punjabi Chole curry from the Mehar range, from our local Asian mini-market. These are versatile and handy whether you need a quick meal at home, a tasty packed lunch in your food flask, a handy meal for a trip out camping or trekking, and even if you are staying overnight in self-catering accommodation or the shelter of a Scottish bothy. There are a wide variety of curries in the Mehar range, all vegetarian and lovingly produced in India. Have you tried any of these curries? Which one should I try next? Let me know in the comments.

From Farm to Table: Community Farming #farming #nofarmersnofood #vlogmas2024

These farming methods also encourage to think about how our food is produced and buy fresh, seasonal produce direct from farmers and producers rather than reliance on the supermarkets, as well as taking more responsibility for our h...

My version of a Polish apple pie with an unusual top crust. The pie is made with homemade buttery shortcrust pastry and well-'fallen' Bramley apples with cinnamon. Recently, dairy company Arla announced a trial in the UK of a new cattle feed called Bovaer, which contains a methane-reducing additive, in association with 30 of its farmers and three major supermarkets. Here I discuss the project in more detail and consider how we might navigate this controversial scheme and its potential consequences, together with any contradictions and heresay, in order to...

Recreating a Medieval POTTAGE | Historical Recipe #foodhistory

Many soups and stews have their roots in pottage, a hearty concoction first popular in the 12th century. Pottage was eaten every day across all social classes, right into the Tudor period and beyond. Poisoning everything is really sustainable 😳
Already making sure I don’t touch anything with chemicals added.
I've been thinking of this herb pie since coming across your video. I must make this!! It looks unbelievably delicious and exactly what I'm craving.
I think everything that contains Bovaer should be clearly marked with a large red B. Amazing the idiot Gates is concerned that cows have wind that is bad for our planet, yet he is zooming round in his jet that is causing much more damage. My message leave our animals alone!
Lidl use muller milk avoid .

Muller supplies milk to Lidl, from my research.
I think you may be wring regarding Lidl… there is another RUclipsr lady that filmed inside a large Lidl and she found mostly “muller” labels on milk, cheese and yoghurts… apparently big supermarkets do swap and change dairy suppliers now and then

That was a careful and comprehensive presentation. I have discovered that Booths Supermarkets sell South Lakes organic milk that is B-free. Also my local dairy has come out saying likewise. I have been making my own live yogurt for a few years so am OK there. Now I'm just researching cheeses - although I have made my own Mozzarella a couple of times. So yes, I too have been looking into this rather disturbing situation. Both people and animals need healthy natural digestive systems. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
@FloraLaura-w7z thsnk you for your kind comments and for watching. I am a huge fan of Booths, having extended (farming) family in the Lakes and so wish they had branches in the south-east. They also removed all their ss tills last year in response to customer feedback. Now THAT is excellent customer service. I have made live yoghurt too which turns out Greek-style once strained. I too have been considering making cheese and I think curd cheese is easy to do. I found a recipe in an organic cookbook so in the new year I may give it a go and share even if it doesn't turn out perfect first time. ❤️
Yes, I have made the simple curd cheese by adding a vinegar. It's a fascinating process. I added some garlic and herbs and that was delicious. Yes, Booths have manned tills which is good. 😃

With these supermarkets acting in such an underhand way, it begs the question if we can trust the organic label. I think for anyone who can shop from a farm, this is definitely the best option.
@@valerieheaps3793 I agree. Dan and I are getting our dairy from farmers and suppliers and producers who have openly declared themselves Bovaer-free.
@@valerieheaps3793 UK Organic is very strict.
I recall a story saying British organic milk is, for the most part, shipped abroad where it is worth more. Organic milk sold in the UK is produced cheaply in India, dehydrated, shipped and then dehydrated in the UK. Somehow this then makes it 'produced' in the UK.
