My cairn slept on her back a lot. I always read that a dog that sleeps on their back feels very secure, as it’s not typical for them to expose their belly.

I loved watching youe beaitful cairns in california i have a hakf cairn half patterdale who reminds me so much of on of yours ( the one testing out the comfort levels)🥰😂

Thank you for getting back to me. Your dog appeared to be hand stripped. A groomer was talking me out of it and says that he gave up the practice years ago. I love the wiry coat and keeping the puppy hair, but he said that many groomers have given up the practice unless the cairns are a show dog, he doesn’t like to subject them to having their hair pulled out. I would like to see a cairn who has been clipped to see what they look like. I was all prepared to have her hand stripped, but now I’m thinking twice about it. Your dog, looks like an adult version of our puppy. Your dog looks to me, like a large puppy.:)Happy to see how ours will look as she grows.:)

Hi, do you have your Cairn Terrier hand stripped at the groomers? What method does your groomer use and if it isn't hand stripped, are there any things to mention to the groomer? We have a 12 week old puppy that is Brindle in colour and looks very much like your adult dog.

Wow! My cairn will only wade. Probably because she jumped out of our canoe when she was a puppy and shocked when she couldn’t couldn’t run on water.😊 Flotation harness with handle worked well!

Lost my wheaten colour one Aug 7 and got a new brindle pup 12 days later. How fortunate was I? This breed is so fun.

I would think that because of the clearly very high energy output they can safely pack away more food than quieter dogs.

Get him a small stepping ladder I find it helps. I have a cane Corso, a pitbull and a German Shepherd. my kids have a Poms ski the step still works

Oh no, our Cairn terrier is always in the wood pile. We assume it’s because there are small critters hiding in the pile. So I wonder if he’s eating wood.

I need to chew mama. They are such great companions. I’ve had 6 of them and have one now with a Westie sister. They are a blast.

We have a little rescue that is 48 percent Cairn. He may as well be all Cairn because he is exactly like Sprout and Zucchini!! We love him to death and always will. He is eight years old and we hope he will be with us forever. Thank you for including us in your adventures!!

My sweet Molly was a brindle looking puppy but gradually lightened to a cream. I had my precious girl for just shy of 14 years and I will never get over losing her. It’s been over 4 years now and I miss her every single day.

Reminds me of Tiller ! He loves to chew on wood too. Usually small branches that fall on the ground. When he was under a year old he would destroy anything plastic in the yard, buckets, watering cans etc. He survived and now just chews up some small branches. Doesn’t seem to eat them. He looks the same as Zucci but bigger, 26 lbs !
