Whenever I watch Phil, I have noticed he is a great tournament player, but has never really excelled in other formats of Texas Hold-um games.

I agree with the sunglasses, face coverings, and card protector rules. The ONLY thing a player should be able to bring to the table is themselves and a drink/snack (but purchased on site rather than bringing their own). Smart watches should even be banned as far as I'm concerned. If an electronic device that has access to cellular or wireless internet is in the player's hand or being used during a hand, that player forfeits that hand and it should go into the muck. If this is done multiple times, a warning should be given and then if it continues give the player a timed penalty of 1-2 rounds (blind levels), and eventual DQ from the tournament. NO electronic device should be allowed that is capable of doing more than anything but tell the time (so player can track the blind levels if they cannot read the time clocks provided by the venue - some people cannot see long distances) As for the 90% rule as all in...I don't agree with this at all. There could be psychological reasons a player bets a certain percentage of his stack (looking unsure and wants chips behind in case his opponent calls) to lure in a call or potential raise when they have the nuts. This is a mind game, and poker is 90% mental (10% luck). No rule should be enacted that forces a player to take an action that they didn't make themselves. Yes, the "leaving a chip behind" can be stalling tactic, but it's again a mental game if the player has time bank chips and wants to see if someone will bust before him thus increasing his/her payout should they lose.

This is pretty dumb. Lots of actions leave inexperienced players in difficult situations. That is just how experience works naturally. And why keep repeating that a bet of only a part of one's stack is an all-in, even when there are chips left behind in the stack, that is just stupid. If a player declares "all-in" then all their chips go into the bet, no matter how many or few of them get shoved into the middle of the table. The rules are very simple, but the creator of this video doesn't seem to understand anything about poker.

professional players know all the cheats, and play their cards accordingly.... if you go to Vegas to play, expect to sit in a game with cheating going on... learn to spot the cheats, and win

Stalling on the bubble should be a strat used by ANYONE, why should the players care about the broadcast.? They are there to win money, not to help boost ratings.

I've done the almost-all-in thing for 25 years in tournaments, but also in cash games where there is no time advantage. The reason is "All-in for 715K" feels different than ""bet 700K". "All-in" reeks of desperation. And it announces to the whole table "once you call my short stack, I'm no further threat". So it encourages calls. "Bet 700K" is just a normal, calculated bet. And a player who is not looking may not notice that baby stack that's left. So they toss their cards. Or they may notice and are left wondering did I not know how short I was, or did I do it on purpose? Drives me NUTS when other players helpfully yell out "HE'S ALL IN!!!!" when I'm not. J F C I know you didn't intend to, but you just violated the rules by helping the other players in the hand play their hands. And I once scored $3000 in a tournament recovering from a single small blind + ante. That's all I had and we were just out of the money. I won that hand and quintupled. Then the next and the next and the next. Suddenly I was third in chips at the table and made it deep into the money. So yeah, those last few chips I'm not betting (on purpose) in a tournament are so I potentially have a chance to recover. If the blinds are 500/1000 and you have 2000, that's a far more valuable 2000 than it would be to the guy with a 100,000 stack. 100,000 vs 102,000? Meh, big deal. 0 vs 2000? Big difference. So no, please, don't do the "90% of a stack bet is automatically 100%". You'll be removing a strategic element from the game.

I often wear sunglasses because of the sensitive eyes thing- but no glasses while in a hand is not a problem. And card protectors are neccessary - but using a chip works just fine. I would miss my personal ones, but, Oh Well.

Delay of game> How about those damn people that run the game, making people wait and wait until the dealer gets permission to deal the next card? I've clicked off watching games like that because I get so angry at the long delay between cards. Everyone standing around talking, it's like an NFL game when the whole game has to keep stopping for 2-5 minutes so they can play commercials. Face covering: who know who they're talking to behind the mask? Sunglasses: With micro electronics so good, who know what they're really looking at. FYI: I'm all in favor of shot clocks and time banks. Makes me want to watch those games.

There are a lot of A-hole players I've watched in these poker tournaments or cash games that are televised. But I have never seen a more whiny, petulant, self-absorbed man-child like Phil Hellmuth, except the orange turd about to take the White House. He shouldn't be nicknamed the poker brat, it should be the poker baby. He takes all of the enjoyment out of watching the pros and amateurs alike play poker

In short...Daniel wants the game played HIS way so as to give him an edge. Leave shit alone and if you feel someone is cheating call it out. Glasses and protectors have been part of the game as far back as I can remember...as I lost a nearly 40,000 pot because my card were not protected. Believe me folks. Daniel only wants to create new rules so he can have an advantage...not to protect the integrity of the game. Your chips are your chips..play them as you see fit. You should never be forced all in for any reason unless you declare all in. Keeping a chip behind is simply a smart move but it does not give Daniel an edge which is why he wants the 90% rule. As for stalling? Anyone can call the clock as long as you are in the hand...no need for any new rule there either. It's all in the mind of a Canadian who doesn't like to lose. Daniel, WE ALL LOSE! Live with it.

The no sunglasses and no card protectors is a bizarre ask. For those of us with sensitive eyes, sometime we have to wear sunglasses, or we can't see. It's a lighting issue. I ALWAYS use a card protector, because you have a duty to protect your cards. It's force of habit now. I've seen dealers take people's cards so many times it is not funny. I've seen a dealer take an all in players cards who had the nuts. Dealers get tired and sometimes this leads to really stupid actions. When at huge events, this is even worse, because they dealers are not as practiced as they have to call in dealers from everywhere. Negreanu doesn't deal with this because his tables are spotlighted and have the best dealers. BTW, I don't have to worry about the chip left behind, because if someone pushes chips forward but is not all in and leaves a chip behind, I'm pushing all in. Ensure you know what the action is before making your decision.

It seems to me that betting 700k from a stack of 715k is not "all in". The dealers need to police this. If a player calls "all in" then ALL chips on the table for that person need to be wagered. In addition, wearing masks does nothing to enhance safety.

The sunglasses thing has always stood out as weird to me from Daniel. Not because I ever wear sunglasses while playing.... but just because they were HUUGGGEE, during the era when Daniel was coming through. I feel like i see twice as many people in sunglasses when watching reruns of Poker after dark, Late 90s early 2000 WSOPs, WPTs, etc. than I do today. Guys like Helmuth, Matusow, Nguyen, Unger, Ferguson.... were always wearing sunglasses. Whether or not i agree with him on the other stuff like masks and face coverings are different, because those are fairly new.... but sunglasses just seem to go with the history of the game so it seems odd that he brings them into it. Maybe its just his way of getting back at people who told him not to talk during hands😂

Use the clock and eliminate chips. Digital chips, five minute clock, Digital display on chip count for each player. Single run out on all in plays. No phones, if a player leaves the table he/she forfeits the hand.

Any player at a table can "call the clock" on another player for taking too long, so this is a "non issue"! If I am at a table and a player says the words "All In", I will call them out if they do not move ALL of their chips into the pot! If they refuse, they get one chance to amend their bet or the floor is called over....then the floor makes the decision! Let's face it, an "All In" is an "ALL IN"! Something we also need to face, a lot of betas were really scared by the government over covid and haven't gotten over it yet! If it's a medical type mask, I say allow them their fear.... Lastly, daniel negreanu is known for being one of the top, if not the top, "reader of tells" in poker, to me it seems like all this is his way of gaining more of an advantage!

I would like to propose a question to you. When I hear Daniel G. complain about these things that he feels provide players who use the tactics some kind of advantage. Now if devices are being used to cheat, that's another issue that must be monitored. However, face masks if to protect against air born issues that's another story. I have played at tables against people who stated they tested positive for Covid, but already paid their buy in and still played. I have something I would like you to consider as something that could be considered an advantage. What about players who are sponsored, staked,, etc. I watch RUclips videos with Daniel and other RUclipsrs who regularity and quite flippantly discuss firing additional bullets in large dollar buy in tournaments. In my opinion could it not be an unfair advantage when the money you are putting up for a tournament is not your money and thus you care less about it then if it were your own money. Is that not like more than one player per hand? Players who don't care about the cost of a buy in play much differently than those who can't afford multiple buy ins. That changes the game. Should there be a rule that you can't be sponsored or staked? Should there be a rule that you must certify that you are staked or sponsored? I would like to know your opinion of this. I am pretty sure i have heard these people make the comment that "I know this is a loose call, but, I can just fire another bullet". It changes the game. Please let me know your thoughts.
