Thank you! I was using a Fender jaguar with some subtle chorus effect into a fairly clean Fender Princeton Reverb amp. The key is to use the bass cut setting on the pickup to get a thin and bright sound which fits this kind of jangly playing , hope this helps.
This saved my life.
