Super Metroid Yapping Maw glitch
This is a short demonstration of the Super Metroid yapping maw glitch, which happens when you hit a yapping maw while shinesparking. It's a pretty well'known glitch, but I couldn't fine it on youtube, hence this video.
The glitch crashes the game. Like any game-crashing tlich, this deserves investigation tos ee if it would allow arbitrary code execution.

I have a problem with this game... besides beign too easy and lineal, I don't like samus run animation; it feels just dull and unnatural, like she doesn't take effort running and just cross a whole room like with three steps... It would be much better if her run animation was double speed while advancing the same, like zero mission or since any other 2d metroid. It shows the game was not made by japanese developers...
It was developed by Nintendo R&D1 who are Japanese but go off I guess.
It was also, yknow, made with the fuckin Wario land 4 engine.

Is the crash persistent upon leaving the room? Say you shinespark while a yapping maw is holding on to you. Once he lets go, you shinespark upwards into a hatch that leads to another room. Does hitting the ceiling in the other room still cause the crash?

My setup was for a version of Snes9x that I had modified to make video dumping with frame skipping work better, but people have moved on to Bizhawk, and tases made with it aren't compatible with snes9x. It doesn't work for my operating system, though I could run it in wine, I guess. It's also much slower, and I doubt that it can be automated the same way my old setup was due to its focus on a graphical interface. And I've been busy with other stuff... Sorry.
