I agree the netherlands and Royal Marines are the best but my facts are for UK so i will talk about them. Royal Marines have 32 weeks of basic training and i belive 13 weeks of PRMC. The Royal Marines would never surrender since a main vertue of theirs is determination. Also give an example of when the Royal Marines have ever surrendered (and if you say civil war i will say burning down the white house). A royal marine has been strapped to the side of an apache helicopter and the USAF was impressed.

British marines are rapid response amphibious asault commandos, and arctic warfare, mountain climbing experts who are small in numbers but are the only European country with brigade size amphibious asault capabilitys. There allot different from American marines, we Brits have comando marines who support the British special forces SBS and SAS and the Americans marine training is allot different( kinda like army) Royal Marines are navy and water specialists, maybe why SBS guys come from them. There's no doubting American marines size and power, but I prefer the smaller numbered British highly trained specialists. There both great at there specific jobs though. Respect to all marines.
You are wrong. Spanish marine corp has a brigade size with more amphibious capabilities than the UK marines. It has artillery (M109), tanks, engineers, etc, that don't have to be added from the army like UK marines. Greetings from the oldest marine corp in the world (1537).

@@zekecross7965 of course they don't work in the water, but an amphibious force fight in land, its key role is to come from the sea and fight in land so they need all the capabilities of a ground force as the army, so if that capabilities (tanks, artillery, engineers, etc) belong to the marines is the best. The diference is that an amphibious operation is the most difficult operation of the armed forces and the army is not trained for that. The UK marine needs all that capabilities from the army. In the other hand, the training is very good in the brits but no better than in other marine corps like the Netherlands, the US, Corea and Spain.

Hahahahahaha! This is hilarious! None of these supposed "Top Marines" have even seen combat, with the exception of the British. The US Marines have been in constant combat for the last 60 years. Yes, I say the USMC is the best in the world based on their exemplary, proven ability to fight and win.

matthew mulligan SBS are the same or better than SAS. They both do the standard UKSF selection then the SBS guys go onto SC3 specific selection. The training they receive is very similar, but the focus is different. Also SBS are better than the US SEALs. So I would re order your list slightly. 1. SBS / SAS 2. Navy SEALs 3... all others below this point.

nikolai moeller You're* is not wrong, the SAS are brought in to train SEAL's, Delta and the IDF, and as the SEAL's, Delta and IDF usually rank in the top 5 special forces in the world, most intelligent people would be hard-pressed to argue that the SAS are the superior fighting force in the world. Unless you're Russian, in which case the Spetsnaz would get the vote.. (even though Alpha group are better than Spetsnaz).

Yeah, the DJC are pretty potent, they train with the SAS for assault and hand to had combat purposes.
