Leaving the bait to defrost in water surely washes away some of the scent? I normally just defrost it a few hours before I leave or semi defrost holding it in my gloves 😅 but the water thing never tried because of what I previously said but might try it

Good effort Dave, fished that day in my Predator 165 very icy start. I put a post up on FB in Solent Boat Fishing live seems not a lot was caught only a few small target fish and there must have been 30 boats fishing Gilkicker to Brambles. So you had 4 baits out and during the day it could have been 120 out all looking for the Cod. Anyway always look forward to your vids whatever the catch tally.👍

I was out in day time Friday bud no bloody cod again, had a descent bass saved my session though. Not my target but a lovely fish at end of the day🤙
