After 4+ years on RUclips, it's time to focus on some tasks I desperately need to finish. As they will require my full attention, I've decided to take a little RUclips break. Pesky Paper Scraps Get Revamped! Decluttering My Craft Room, Ep 6 #declutter #paperscraps
Просмотров 4102 месяца назад
Today I'm trying to solve the conundrum of condensing, sorting and reorganizing my paper scraps. I've got them stashed in lots of places and piles. How can I best group these papers so that I can find what I want and eventually use them up? Maybe using them up should not be the goal. It took me several times of going through my paper pieces (happily, it's mostly edited out), discarding the scra...

In spite of some technical difficulties during filming, I was able to turn an idea into reality in this next round of the 50 Stack Challenge hosted by Amy @craftycat7212 . This time the prompts are #15 POPPY and #16 SHABBY. The idea for one of these pockets was inspired by Dee Dee Farago. Then I put my own spin on it to create the second pocket. Coordinating tags pulled everything together. Tha...

Coloring books are good. The adult ones have pretty pictures and you or the recipient can color it. Old sewing patterns are good to. Travel brochures you pick up on vacation are good. Great ideas in your video.
Thank you! Great ideas, thanks for watching! 💖
This is awesome. I will check out your other videos to see how they are used. I’m not new to scrapbooking and journaling but am trying to up my game!
Careful, it's a slippery slope... that's how I ended up here! 😉 JK, glad you enjoyed the video and welcome to the world of junk journals (and my channel)! ☺💖
Sometimes you can get paper from those huge bins sitting outside a store or building
Good idea, thanks for watching! 💖
Weather plays a part when making divinity, meringue, and some candy.
So true! Thanks for watching! 💖
You have no idea how much this helps motivate me. Because I pretty much have the same thing a little bit less but I like how you talk through it because it helps me reevaluate and look at things differently as well very helpful very helpful thank thank thank you thank you.❤❤❤
I'm so glad I could help! You've got this!
Hi, I’m new to your channel, love all your ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, I'm glad you're here! 😊
Just came across your channel and enjoyed this video! Your recipe cards look like ones I got years ago and finally took to the thrift store about six years ago, never occurred to me to reuse them. Thankfully. I hoard enough junk paper as it is!! I thought this past weekend how useful our printed church programs would be! They changed recently to double-sided half sheets of light card. I went around the pews picking up programs people left. Of course, I picked up trash and straightened the hymnals and Bibles as I went because that’s how I do things. (Hope the deacons were grateful I did their job!!) I have more trouble with glue than anything else in crafting-any kind of crafting. But I’ve had my Creative Memories corner rounder for more than 20 years, and it’s still doing well! Oh, my mother (BS in home Economics) always said to have the right needles for sewing, especially with your machine. If you sew on paper, only use those needles for paper and be prepared to get new (cheap) ones often. That’s just like we don’t use our fabric scissors for paper, right?!!
I've saved many a church program myself for this very reason! I'm sure the deacons were very happy for your help. 😊 Have fun creating! 💖
WOW! So easy! Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome, thanks for watching! 💖
Yes recipe binders like baseball and coin books...binders!!!😮😢
These look same as my granny's cookbooks....great great granma!!!
Exactly same!!!!
Who posted this!
I completely understand a break. Mine have been dictated to me but once I’m able to get back to it I feel somewhat refreshed. Maybe someday I’ll be able to, like you, be consistent with my uploads. Goals! 😂 I hope you enjoy your time off. ❤ What would I like to see? I like process videos. I also really like journal flip-throughs. 😊
👍🏼💖
I’d like to learn more about glue, I feel I always use the wrong one 😅 Also I am making an album for my father and as the „pages get thicker“, the binding couldn’t hold - I’ll have to learn how to repair that, but that will be a task when all the content is in. So I will see if you have videos, helping me out with that 🙂 I don’t know how bad the algorithm reacts to breaks? Maybe you could put out 2 minute videos, just showing a tree blowing in the wind and recommend a video to watch in the description 😃 Anything that helps.. But only do that if it helps out your statistics, your viewers seem to be fine with your vacation. Have a great summer! I keep my fingers crossed that you can put these tasks in the archive as quick as possible and just enjoy tasty drinks in the sun in awesome company 🥂
👌🏻💖
That me i give up too soon if it doesn’t work the first time. Thank you. Im going to charge my way of thinking❤
I worked at an insurance agency in the early 00s and it was standard even then for companies to drop customers that file a lot of claims, or small claims like you said. It's ridiculous.
It’s a process video, thus the length. Thank you for your suggestions.😃
Love your videos❤
All the best ❤😊
Hate cloomy days me too. Buy a RV and join millions of winter Texans, AZ or Floridians. The RV parks are entertaining and resort like. Not a RV sales person. I have tons of craft equipment set up in my Airstream. Been doing this for 25 years. I enjoyed your video thanks for sharing.
Great video❤
Glad you liked it!!
Enjoy your break. You look great😊
Thank you! 🤗
Hi Marci! Enjoy your break!😊❤ We understand!
Where are you in Idaho
I’m in SW Idaho, the Treasure Valley area.
Good for you! We look forward to you returning!
You have been so consistent and that alone is a lot! I try to be consistent and it seems I can not get my groove into the motion of uploading. Take a break, enjoy yourself, and relax. I look forward to all your new content and what you have in store for the future. Breaks are good to recharge, and I am sure you are going to come back with many new ideas to share. ~ Trudy
Hi Marci💕 I totally understand needing a break, I tend to do that. It has already been a crazy year for us and last few week trying to find insulin for my husband. I guess its on back order but we finally got one month supply. Thanks for the update and enjoy your time off, I'm feeling like I need one to. 😂 Take good care, big hugs! 🤗
I look forward to your weekly videos. But I hope you enjoy your break. I really enjoy craft with me videos. You will be missed! I hope your summer goes well. 💚
Enjoy your well deserved break!! ❤❤ Hmmm. Things I want to see… 🤔 Smaller journals to give as gifts?! 🤷🏻♀️
Enjoy your break lovely ❤😊
I think it's good that you're taking a break! Everyone needs and deserves a break. I'll miss you! I enjoy all of your content so I don't really have a favorite thing that you do. You're very talented and I love your journal making so that's at the top of my list. My bank stuff isn't straightened out yet and I'm still decluttering to move...hopefully by October. I have always appreciated your prayers and I still need them. I hope you have a wonderful summer and I'll try too...hopefully with no hurricanes. I have a home inspection on Friday and have been trying to get ready for that. The insurance company's in Florida play games with everyone because they can. Have a great summer and I look forward to your return when I get settled!
Everyone deserves a break!
This one looks really pretty, I like the style you followed! And I start to understand what these journals are made for and how to use it.. nice 😃
Thanks, Keelienne! I'm glad this video was helpful. 💖
Hi new subscriber saw your swap with Rochelle. I also do hauls an more have you seen me? 😊

I am English and we have charity shops that sell donations all proceeds go to charity, I love finding old magazines and used filofaxs are my favourite find I use them as planners for junk journals and as very pretty notebooks .
I had the opportunity to visit some charity shops when we were in Scotland a couple of years ago. They are so clean - like little boutiques. I enjoyed exploring and found a few treasures. TFW! 💖
Hi Marci💕 It turned out amazing, love all the different textures and I see some die cut pieces. I am still subscribed! Happy 4th have a wonderful day, take care. 🤗Big hugs
I thought you might recognize a few things, hee-hee! 😉 So glad you're still subscribed - thank you for checking, Celeste. 💖
I’m still subscribed, thank goodness! I don’t want to miss anything! This is a beautiful journal for some lucky person.
Thank you and thank you💖 for checking, Peggy. It's weird for sure, not to mention a little frustrating.
Still subscribed! This is a beautiful journal. I'm still struggling with the bank theft and now I have a home inspection in the middle of all of that. Please keep praying for me!

@@CreatorsCall Thank you for sharing your page, but I was looking for yours of this (A Christmas Carol)? I thought I would ask 🙂
So many great ideas!! How did I miss your video during this series?? Glad I found it! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas! Love them all!
Thank you, Karla! That's a huge compliment coming from you. Your videos have helped me learn so much over the years. So glad we could be in the collab together! 🤗💖
@@CreatorsCall Thank you! Me too, this was fun! I hope to do another one at some point. Have a great day!
Hey i just was gifted a huge tote of fabric samples, like you showed, mine were already taken apart and ready to yse. What a blessing. One thing i thought of using them for was a quick easy fabric flip. Your pocket idea is col also. Does anyone else have any good ideas for these samples, i have all kinds of sizes and material.
Yes, I think they would be great for fabric flips too. I was thinking they could be used for shaker cards as well or as a window on a page, with the page behind peeking through. TFW and sharing your ideas, Cindy!
Fun video. I liked all the things you got accomplished. I really like the trim on the cover.
Thank you, Becky! ☺💖
I absolutely love your journals because they look like all the things I love but at times don’t think I should put into my journals. Thanks for your video.🥰❤
Jackie, your kind comment made my day! 🥰Let your imagination run wild and add those wonderful things to your journals. I bet they will be terrific because they will have your favorite things in them! 🤗💖
@@CreatorsCall Thank you and that really helps. 💐🥰🫂
Happy Wednesday Marci💕 Awesome cover and I love the fabric sample pieces. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas, enjoy your week. 🤗Big hugs
The fabric samples are fun to look through and have great texture to them.😀 Have a great week, Celeste! 💖
@@CreatorsCall 🥰
I’m enjoying this series! I’m learning lots about putting a journal together! In re to the belly band: could you fussy cut at the top of the flowers? It might be too wide still. 🤷🏻♀️ I remember the worry journal! ❤❤
I edited out the part where I said I don't enjoy fussy cutting... 😉🤭😂 Looking at it again, I think I could cut away the background on both sides and then the bb would be the right width. So I'm going to re-think the belly band idea... 🤔 I also thought about making a large journal card for one of the pockets on the cover. 🤗💖
Love the spine as works really well. Nice work all round the ink paper especially 😊❤
Thank you, Lara! 🤗💖
I am sorry that a creative woman, who seemed to be inspiring to so many others, dies too young. But I am sure she will look with satisfaction on her life and the footprint she left, I hope her family will heal soon and remember her often with a smile and a good story 💜
Ronda was much loved and will be deeply missed in the jj community. Thanks for your kind comment, Keelienne. 🤗💖
Good morning Marci💕 Love the outcome of the book binding tape, I will be on the look out for it. Hope your week is going good, take good care. 🤗Big hugs
So, so easy with the tape! 😃💖
Good choice on tape 😊 well done for getting the cardboard off the fabric I think I would have just cut the fabric with scissors as I needed using the line of the cardboard to cut straight 😊😂
I was very tempted to just cut out the samples I wanted, but the cardboard covered up too much of the fabric pieces, so they would have looked weird if I'd done it that way. 🥰💖
@@CreatorsCall arr yes good point as like you say you want to use all the fabric say good job you did there beautiful fabric samples 😁😃
