Mine started early at age 15 and only got worse after becoming permantelty disabled right before the pandemic hit and well I'm mostly in my whelechair all day trying to desperately find any therapist who'll take me but everyone keeps turning me away because I'm an extremely complex case due to life long abuse and trauma. Also, part of why I'm permanently disabled now and chronically ill. I have a full time live in IHSS caregiver aid, and I can't even handle walking outside in broad daylight and lost my ability to speak fully. So it's gonna be my 14th year in a row as a hikikomori

Damn its sad to think he'll be lost to time when RUclips falls away. There is some philosophical value to his stuff, he doesn't just make consumable content. Maybe his music will take off and he can transition like filthy frank. Besides the effect he has had on us, i fear his message wont live on like other philosophers and people will forget there's another option other than working your whole life to retire for 10 years when you can barley walk. Adventure is a now or never type deal.

It’s happening in South Korea, South Africa, Canada, U.K, U.S, and Australia. Even a country like France is suffering from this worldwide epidemic and their country has set up mobile apps to get people to socialize and setting up social programs for young men in the ages between (18-40) to leave their bedrooms and there is not much France’s doctors can do for these young boys and young men. I feel bad for youth around the world. This society is declining and becoming more isolated.

I relate to this very much. I am lucky to have people who are understanding. I try to attend daily Mass because it is the one thing that gets me out of the house each day. But then I am often glued to the screen for the rest of the day. And when the anxiety gets really bad I start to miss daily Mass and then a week is gone before I know it. People say "can't you get a job" as if I were avoiding work on purpose. I am ashamed to be unemployed and have trouble explaining to people why I don't have a job. It is the constant rejection and feeling that I will get fired even if I get hired that keeps me from trying at times. The internet makes it easier to escape and not face my fears. It is like a cheap drug that I am addicted to. When I do finally go to a social situation, most of real interactions end up feeling boring because of being used to the fast pace of anime. I am in a self destructive way of life and don't know how to get out. I know that if I were starving then necessity would make me try harder. But I'm not starving and so that motivation slips away.

Love his channel... Right, I am doing urban exploration for at least 15 years myself, just taking pictures, no videos at all on my YT channel, a few videos from Chernobyl and almost music that's all. Shiey is doing a great job, I appreciate every situation from him. But you can trust me for one thing, I went to Chernobyl too, and the base of the DUGA-1 OTH Radar, lift your eyes to the top and you'll be impressed by the immense structure, this is pure engineering art to me. Shiey is climbing it to the top and this is something I am not able to do this as I am suffering from vertigo unfortunately. Shiey gave me the opportunity to appreciate the view from the top of the DUGA-1 and I'd like to thank him for that ! Respect to him and it's friends.

That opening description reminds me of the words "a burned child loves the fire." Trauma is a fascinating beast and the way people respond to it is very different--some become obsessed with what hurt them and others are entirely repulsed. At times, they swing between the two extremes. Diana Wynne Jones (author of Howl's Moving Castle) also said this about Miyazaki's choice to depict the war only passingly mentioned in her book.

Jiro's answer to Giovanni's question was "I just want to build beautiful airplanes". It kinda makes me emotional to think about. It seems like he choose to satisfy his desire without considering its impact on the world and even at the cost of not spending time with his wife in her last days. Did he do the right thing? One could argue that the technology he made helped people after the war, but was he wrong to build it knowing it was used to destroy human lives? To what extent is technology good?, considering how much potential it has for evil. Can technology save us from itself?
