Would you like to see a more comprehensive video on the 3 point turn, and using a driveway?
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comments...
This video was a highlight from a Twitch live streamed driving lesson. The student was being educated on how to complete a 3 point turn from the left kerb to right kerb.

Interesting that you mentioned avoiding dry steering. I find that if you "unsteer" (i.e. get the steering approximately straight) as you approach your forward and then reverse stopping points it helps to set up the car for your next move without the need to dry steer. (Hard to explain - hope that makes sense.)

Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment, Jeff. :) I understand where you're coming from and that might work in a vehicle with a good turning circle, but in the vehicle we are driving - not so much.
We need to pivot the vehicle on an angle as much as possible, keeping the steering wheel locked right and then left until we reach each kerb completely. If we don't do this we could end up doing a 4 to 5 point turn! 😅
In regard to dry steering, with low speed manoeuvres most students when first starting will turn the steering wheel while stationary (dry steer) so my mention of it in this video was to remind the student that we want to move and turn where possible so that we don't hurt the steering components and wear down the tyres. I continually say "move and turn" to students until it becomes ingrained in their mind.
FYI, we do sometimes dry steer when in a very tight spot but it's rare. If you would like to do another drive together in regard to 3 point turns, I'm always up for it. 🙏🏾
