@@SattzFFYou get to see how goofy and down to earth these guys are and the strong brotherhood between them. Geddy also plays guitar Alex also plays acoustic guitar, mandola and he started playing keyboards as well later on in the 80's. Neil of course drums, percussion and main lyrist As far as other talents besides music Geddy has written two books. Alex is a pilot and also a painter Neil also wrote a number of books Three very talented guys . Another suggestion is Working man live in Cleveland. Cheers
Neil hung it up about a year before the cancer was discovered he wanted to spend more time with his new wife and young daughter which makes his death all the more tragic but the body of his work is substantial and his music will live on. RIP professor.
Thanks for reacting to this one! I also love how much of a jam this is, and how it showcases the talents of all three. Neil's drum solo here always leaves me awestruck, and I love how groovy Geddy's bass playing is here. Alex's riff is awesome, too. The gorilla thing is just a joke; the guys had a sense of humor and that is why there is random stuff onstage. As for their ages, I think this concert was in 2013, which means the guys were actually in their 60s: Neil was 61 and Geddy and Alex were 60. You will love 'Dinner with Rush'; it's so rare to have a true friendship lasting decades, especially within bands, but Rush did. No egos; just a lot of love and respect for each other. Another great live performance to check out is 'Secret Touch' from the Snakes and Arrows tour.
As drumming goes it will always be Bonham vs. Peart or Peart vs. Bonham. I'll admit Bonham has a more heavy thumping beat that no one can match. But Neil's timing, speed and mastery of all percussion instruments will always make him the Greatest.
Neil always felt he could learn more and become better than he was. He learned new techniques from a master Freddy, something, IIRC, but he ADDED to his own style, not just change his style.
If Neil isn't in the top three, Geddy isn't in the top five, and Alex isn't in the top ten of GOAT's in any drum, bass or guitar GOAT list, then it is a bogus list! Personally, they are all number one singularly or as a trio.
Neil Peart; anything to do with drums and percussions, bells, gong as well as Xylophone (electronic) and lyricist. Geddy Lee; Bass & Rhythm guitar, keyboard/synth both hands and feet, vocalist. Alex Lifeson; Lead & Rhythm guitar, keyboards both feet and hands, back-up vocals. This is what they all did spanning their full career. Alex and Geddy wrote 90% music together (not counting drums) and Neil 90% of the lyrics.
If you thought that solo was good. The Neil Peart drum solo live in Frankfurt is the one you should find next. He has a lot more of everything in that solo. Look for it and do it next time please
Here you go, Sattz! Dinner with RUSH: ruclips.net/video/OjbvZJaxcbw/видео.html (1.2 million views) Hysterical! P.S. Not an interview, just the band being goofy over dinner,
Thanks for watching!
That 12 minute video is the correct one. It's the guys having dinner together.
Alright, I'll do a reaction on it very soon, I'm guessing this must be very important because everybody suggested it

I agree, it's very unfortunate what happened but he was pretty strong and left his mark

thanks for all the info and suggestions. Also, Dinner with Rush reaction should be coming out either today or tomorrow so stay tuned
Neil Peart has always used traditional grip (marching band grip) but his experience learning with Freddie Grubber allowed him to use it in new ways.
Thanks for letting me know as I don't actually play drums, interesting
I think Neil is 59/60 here. He is from 1953 if I recall correctly. Concert was 2013.
You need to watch Malignant Narcissism/De Slagwerker live Snakes and Arrows tour....total fire❤🇨🇦
I think I already did Malignant Narcissism, not sure if it was this show though, thanks for watching
I was at this concert.😊😊😊
Neil said , playing drums for rushwas like running a marathon while doing trigenomics.
I think that's a good thing as I heard Neil liked the adrenaline from driving with his motorcycle around the world, thanks for watching
This tour was in 2013 - Neil is 60 or 61 here. 2 years before their final R40 tour in 2015. RIP!
He played very well even at the end of his career, RIP

I agree, both are great

I agree, great drummer
This was a shortened solo about 3 & 1/2 minutes compared to 8 minutes in the past.
I'll try to listen to the original solo then, thanks for the info
Rush took a 5 year pause due to Neil's wife passing away and a year later his daughter. 😢😢
Yeah, I heard he just went around with his motorcycle to heal himself or something like that, still pretty sad but he pulled through

they had a pretty good dynamic as a band
